I've been meaning to go here for a while (what with me living in Mequon's most notable suburb, Brown Deer) and finally made it today for a little pre-movie brunch. The wait was longer than expected (about 30 minutes) and some of the patrons seemed a little pushy and entitled. You know the type. The food was decent, but nothing outstanding. I had a roasted sweet potato quesadilla, which was at least something different than standard deli fare. Though I had to ask for it, the avocado salsa was really quite good - the best part of my meal. Let me preface this review with this information. The food is wonderful! Never had a bad experience with food only the service. We waited 15 mins. For my daughters pancakes, this is after our food was served. WTF! My 4 yr. old had to share our food because hers was not ready! Our waitresses was the worst! We were seated for 10 min before someone took our drinks order. 15 min after we got there Wannabe faux-celebrity Anna Zuckerman walked in, her party was given a server the second they sat down. Absolutely some of the freshest, and most delicious food I've had in and around Milwaukee! Changing specials during the week and then on weekends for brunch are carefully crafted and never disappoint. The from scratch quiche is the best I've ever had. Their selection of tortes and other bakery is indulgent. The in house prepared salads in the deli present healthy options with mind-blowing flavours. On top of all the great food to be find at decent prices, what really stands out at Cafe 1505, is the over the top great service. I've been here a few times for breakfast and thought I would write a review. I have had a variety of delicious breakfast items here from pancakes, oatmeal to coffee cake and cinnamon rolls. They serve Milwaukee's Valentine coffee which is where it starts. They have unique, yet tasty breakfast items with an interesting open vibe.

We arrived on a Saturday and were greeted by the hostess who walked us over to a very dirty table. We asked that it get wiped off before we sat down. She came back with a spray bottle and started smearing the food all over the table and onto my chair. I asked her politely to actually wipe the food off the table, not into the table. Food for a party of 6 was average. We had to ask for utensils as there were only a setting for 3. We had to ask for refills of water and coffee. The waitress never came back after the food was served. I had to flag her down to get her attention. I wont be back and there are other choices. read more

Was looking for something in the area (out of town for us). Based on the amazing reviews we thought we'd try this out . I ordered the chicken Gouda and it was amazing! The server forgot to bring out the boyfriends coffee until she brought out the food. Then the boyfriend's food, the mushroom & leek frittata, wasn't anything special and it was bland! The server also never came and checked on us again after dropping off the coffee, until she brought the check. For the prices on the menu, I expected a lot better service. *Update 06.26.16 - (from 3 stars to 4 stars) The owner did contact me over PM thru Yelp. Very generous and very gracious. Do NOT get the waitress with the short grey hair. She will ruin your meal...eye rolls, acts like every request is questionable...like, "why would you ask for ketchup?"...BTW, worst egg brunch dish, wver... messy, bland, lukewarm, etc. If you want to be safe, get a salad (good), and a different waitress. read more

Our group goes out once a month either for Breakfast or Lunch. I had seen this restaurant on my way home from the hospital after having a test and was curious and put it on my suggestion list (long and continues to get longer). It is great for vegetarians as they have many entrees for them (don't worry meat lovers, they have those too!). It was very crowded when we got there (about ll:30 a.m.) but they managed to give us two tables (there were over 10 of us) and the service was terrific! They have a special where you can order a sandwich and either soup or salad for a reasonable price. Their entrees have generous portions at average prices. Our server, Jessica, did a terrific job! Everybody enjoyed the atmosphere (this restaurant's inside a shopping center and you can access the other stores comfortably through the hallways). They also have a deli/bakery where you can get salads, sandwiches and baked goods. The only thing that disappointed me was you could not get breakfast for lunch. They do have a breakfast buffet on the weekend. Give it a try! read more

I was traveling through on business and used Yelp to find a local breakfast place. After reviewing their menu online, I decided to try it. I was not disappointed! Ordered the portabella frittata and coffee. Everything was excellent. One suggestion would be to get rid of the single serve creamers and serve real 1/2 and 1/2. This is a total "Mequon" place to hang. If you like eating alfresco, then come here when the weather is nice, just be aware, sometimes they have a bee problem because of all the sweet smells. After searching Yelp for a nice breakfast place we decided on 1505. I was a little concerned about pricing when we drove into the lot and there were a decent amount of high end automobiles parked. I went in and checked the menu and to my surprise, the pricing was spot on for breakfast. A lot of items under $10 or right around it. There are a lot of wonderful sounding meals here for breakfast but I decided on their veggie burger. WoW! it is amazing. Wonderful flavors, avocado on top, and a hearty homemade bun - perfect! 1505 serves up a great meal. read more

Wow. I was in town for a workshop and Cafe 1505 came up as well-reviewed. I ended up eating here all three days.... It's a cute cafe that focuses on local and fresh foods and it is delicious. Day one I tried the 1505 eggs served with locally made turkey sausage (which was my least favorite of all the items I tried), home fries, and dressed greens. Day two I had a fluffy omelet with asparagus, mushrooms and Brie with very nice locally baked bread. Day three was the best--I tried the blue crab scrambler. I'm always a bit nervous eating seafood in the Midwest, but man, this was good! Made with tomatoes, chèvre, and dressed with lemon with big pieces of lovely crab and nicely scrambled eggs. I could eat this at least once a week. I'm not sure when I will be back to Mequon, but when I do, I'll definitely be back at Cafe 1505. read more

Cafe 1505 is definitely the best brunch within a comfortable which is why I have been here as often as I have. It has also, in my opinion gotten a lot better over the years and is at its best now. I wouldn't go out of Milwaukee to eat at Cafe 1505, but I wouldn't go anywhere else for brunch in Mequon. read more

I think the food is fantastic as it fresh and from local farms. When eating you can feel that the food contains high quality ingredients. I understand that the prices are higher than other places, but in my opinion I rather spend more money for better food. If you don't care about quality and would like a bag of chips this is not the place for you....It makes me feel very disappointed when I only see a few stars...I guess some people only care about having a cheap eat and don't care what they eat The restaurant is very cozy which makes it a nice eating experience. Service was terrible. They forgot about us multiple times and took almost until the end of the meal to get a drink we ordered at the beginning of the meal. Also they didn't ask and grouped all of mine and my friends bills together. When we asked to have it divided they acted like that was the hardest task for them. I was just driving through and needed a place to eat, get coffee and do some computer work. Great, friendly, and helpful staff. Great Latte, great food. Staff came out of their way to give me wifi access. I was here on a Friday at around noon and there was a great mix of ages -from mid 20s to the adorable elderly - and backgrounds. It is a great atmosphere (for Atmosphere alone I would only give 4/5 stars). I absolutely love that they use/favor local produce and ingredients and that they advertise this fact. I went with two other people for lunch on a Tuesday. We arrived around 11:45 am so it was pretty busy. One thing I liked about the restaurant was that tables are a good distance apart from each other. I didn't feel crammed in even with the crowd. The service was great. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly. My friend and I eat ordered half of the turkey cranberry sandwich with a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. Our other friend ordered the spinach salad. The turkey cranberry sandwich was pretty good, but the turkey was a little dry. The cranberry mustard was delicious! I was disappointed in the broccoli cheddar soup so I did not eat much of it. It had a very strong broccoli flavor and not enough cheddar flavor. It was $8.45 for my meal, which I consider pretty reasonable. I don't personally have many dietary restrictions but I did notice a lot of options for vegetarians. Additionally, there was a separate takeout section of the restaurant where people could order from the deli. There was even seating in that area for those that don't want to be waited on or want to eat and leave quickly. Overall, I would visit again, just not for the same meal. read more

This is my second time visiting the café, while the espresso drinks aren't to die for, the baked goods are. Today I decided to grab a 1/2 sandwich too. My only complaint is that the grilled cob sandwich was grilled and then wrapped and cold which I think is why the bread was so hard. Very disappointed. Was excited to come here to spend the day with my mom. Thought this cute little place would be excellent. The service was horrible, the food was mediocre and I went through three drinks and not one was worth paying for. We waited 5 minutes before anyone could seat us, then we're told they were busy and had too many people before us to be seated (multiple empty tables and no line in sight). Went to the bar and was served by three different employees, not one came back more than once to check on us. Overall, we won't be back. read more
