My husband and I enjoy checking out new places and we came along this cute little restaurant in our town. Their busy times are for breakfast and lunch, but luckily there was two available seats at the breakfast bar so we got available seats right away! The waitress was very friendly and knew everything about the business from the history to the food. She recommended our choices we had to eat! The owner was even working and was very friendly! We sat next to another couple and they gave us great encouragement of returning! They visit the place once a week! It's great to have a restaurant like that in town! read more

Found this best little treat when I decided against Bakers Square this morning. This down town cafe is a great place to start the day. I enjoyed their house omelette with a side I'd potato's and pancakes. The pancakes were a little on the sweet side but most people would enjoy that. The omelette was delicious. If you find yourself close to Hobart it's well with the few minute drive off I65. read more

If you go in they're always super busy. Which is bc they're the only breakfast place in Hobart. They never answer their phones. So if you didn't wanna wait an hour for mediocre food and just eat it at home, you can't do that either. I hope Hobart opens more breakfast places. This place can step up their game. read more

Wow. Generous portions, tastes very fresh, not just reheated GFS. Atmosphere is like a diner but food quality is more cafe. We have a lot of food sensitivities and try to eat only quality food, and this fits the bill very nicely. We went here for breakfast while visiting Indiana Dunes National Park. You can definitely tell this place has a lot of regulars, but was super welcoming to new people. They had a lot of delicious breakfast items and it was hard to decide what to get! We tried their "iced frappe" for coffee and they were very delicious. The staff was super nice, cheery, and attentive. Their homemade potatoes were super yummy and I wish I had selected one of their skillets with the potatoes as the base. read more

This is my favorite restaurant for breakfast (actually the only place I want to o for breakfast). We make this an almost daily ritual to hit Cafe 339 to start our day out right. The food is excellent (and reasonably priced) and the staff is awesome. Everyone makes you feel right at home. There are some days (depending on the lunch special) that I eat breakfast and lunch here. They are also the CLEANEST restaurant I have been in. With COVID worries, that's important. They wipe down every thing - menus, salt & pepper shakers, tables, booths, chairs. And they deep clean on a regular basis as well. Highly recommend these guys!!!! read more

My husband and I stopped at Cafe 339 for a quick and delicious breakfast before hitting the highway back to Indianapolis. Other glowing Yelp reviews led us there, and they were not amiss! My husband ordered their skirt steak special, and I had the breakfast panini with fruit. It was 100% what I needed this morning. The egg "omelette" inside my panini was perfectly stuffed with spinach and tomato, and just the right amount of cheese. The bread was wonderful. If I lived closer, I would visit this place on the regular. My hubby's breakfast was delicious, although possibly overkill with all the food! His special came with steak, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and a large portion of skillet potatoes. He couldn't finish it all. We ate at the counter, and Anna (our waitress) was fun, witty, and made great suggestions. Everyone was helpful. Our coffees stayed fresh and topped off, and before we left, we snagged an eclair to go because another Yelp reviewer had commented on how amazing they are. WOW. Don't miss the eclair. Very clean. Nice menu. Decent enough. Stopped on our way through the area for breakfast. Wouldn't go out of my way again, but it was perfectly fine food. Only negative was that everything lacked seasoning, which really needs to occur while cooking the food (no one really wants to add salt at the table). We regularly visit Cafe 339! It's the best place in Hobart to grab breakfast. They always have interesting specials and wonderful service. My husband always orders the Brickie Bowl and I usually get the special of try something new on the menu - I've never had anything that I didn't like! Cute little cafe. This was my first time coming to this place. We met the owner who was very friendly and knows how to welcome his customers. The waitress was ok, she asked if we were ready to order twice way too early as there were 4 of us, we just needed a little more time. But other than that the food was good. We stopped here on our way out to Chicago from PA. The food was incredible, and our waitress was incredibly friendly, personable and took extra time to fill us in on the area and best items on the menu. Their gravy is homemade and tasted wonderful, best biscuit I have ever had, and their Brickie bowl was really delicious. They were celebrating their 9 year anniversary and offered cupcakes to their guests, including us. Highly recommend you stop in. They have kona coffee to which my husband drank several cups. I had one of the best omelettes I've ever had - the Herbivore. The place was busy and small so there was a short wait but we got seated soon enough. They had a small table available and asked if we wanted that table instead of cramming us in there and not caring (I thought this was very thoughtful), our waitress was so pleasant I felt like I was talking to a friend. However if I could give it no stars I would because the owner was so rude!! We sat down at exactly 1145 and that exactly 1:00 he asked if he could please have the table that he could really use because of Covid??!! Let me start by pointing out that there was nobody waiting and to open tables so unless he was a fortune teller how would he know that there would be a line to get into this tiny restaurant?? Perhaps you should be more worried about the non-usage of masks and how close your tables are together during Covid as opposed to telling us when it's time for us to leave? I will never be back, and I will not recommend this place to anybody! I don't suppose the owner took classes on etiquette and hospitality before he opened up his restaurant??? This was a night before, random find. I grew up in Hobart, Indiana, and I remember the restaurant, Abbott's, which had been in this space previously. But I had never visited. I came back to my hometown for a visit with my family (one of which is a self proclaimed foodie) and wanted to share a great, old fashioned brunch with them. Cafe 339 was the perfect place. The food was delightful, and the staff was wonderful. We came in with a party of five and never felt like it was an inconvenience. Our coffee cups were never empty and we never had to ask for a refill. After a truly delicious breakfast, we sat and chatted for an hour and were not rushed out or asked to make space. Throughout our experience there, we met the owner/chef and had a wonderful little chat, and heard regulars welcomed with true enthusiasm. I definitely recommend the spinach and feta omelet, and when I return I will be trying the guacamole burger. read more
