Hidden gem!! I was so pleasantly with my visit to Cafe 431 today! The store was charming and homey and the food was great- seasoned perfectly and not too greasy! And most distinguishing was their extraordinary service. In a day and age where customer service is often lacking, this restaurant's staff made us feel valued and taken care of from the minute we walked in. Absolutely perfect experience! To start, they greeted us with the southern hospitality that we haven't seen yet. Got us seethed quickly, got our coffee pronto and brought out waters before anybody could even ask for it. Our server was extremely polite and helpful with input and suggestions. This place is five stars even before the food. Then the food came out. I got the 431 sampler with Cakes, half and half bacon/sausage, eggs over easy, biscuit and gravy and home fries. Best damn biscuit I've ever had so I had to get another one even after I was stuffed just because it was that good! And all for $13!! We will defiantly be back with friends and family. We come here on Sunday for brunch every once in awhile for some fantastic eggs benedict. Nine times out of ten we have the same server, and he's fantastic. (I just can't seem to remember his name right now!) He recognizes us right away and addresses us by asking which benedict we will be ordering today, knowing that we never stray from this particular dish. He has offered us so many fantastic off-menu/secret-menu benedict options! My personal favorite is the mahi mahi benedict. My boyfriend prefers the crab cake benedict. They tend to be busy on Sundays after church hours, so don't fault them if the service is a bit slow! It's worth the wait! Come early if you can! read more

Great mom and pop restaurant. We have been here a bunch of times for breakfast and service is always fast and friendly. They have all the regular breakfast diner fare, and while it might not be the most adventurous menu, it is good and consistent. This place is hands down the best breakfast show in the Columbus area. It is delicious, fast, friendly, and at a good price! I have been going to this place for almost a decade and the same friendly faces are still there and the food hasn't changed. The servers do an amazing job at keeping up, coffee filled, and do a phenomenal job catering to my four year old daughter. OK, OK. So i love a mom and pop breakfast place more than anyone else. you can find personalities, homemade recipes, grandma-type woman who call you "sweetheart" and great customer service. This place has about 3/5 of these qualities, maybe even two. Let me explain. Me and my boyfriend were starving there was nothing in his fridge, he'd been here before and so had I. Needless to say, i was probably hung over the first time because i don't remember having such a vivid memory but i remember the food was good. This time - we had our waiter (he was so nice and professional though) spilled our coffee but it was brought out immediately so we didn't care. Our waitress however, was completely rude and felt like serving us was such an inconvenience to her texting and, I'm sure, face booking on her phone. At first she approached us immediately after giving us coffee and we were ready so she left us alone for what seemed like 10 minutes. After making serious eye contact with her, i ordered the crab cakes and eggs and my boyfriend got the pancake combo (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages). I asked for wheat toast with my crab cakes and she seemed like she didn't even give a shit and grunted when i specified. My boyfriend also asked for water, which I'll go into later. After 5-10 minutes, our waitress began arguing with who seemed like a restaurant owner or manager and it became extremely awkward. They were arguing right in front of the bar console in front of 3 couples about how "our" waitress wasn't doing her job correctly while our first male server tried not to stare and looked out the window. he acted like mommy just hit daddy and he didn't want to watch. Very unprofessional and rude. Our food came out, no water and no sauce or wheat toast like i had requested but we didn't want to send it back - who knows what they would have done to my food. The food was delicious once my bf stood up and asked for all the condiments. My crab cakes had some sort of corn meal in them which made them more doughy and it was delicious. At this point in time, we were never seen or asked how we were doing for the rest of the meal because they were too busy (all servers except the young male server) were playing on their phone being the cash register. Like i said the food was great but the customer service like we were bothering this restaurant to even come here ruined our experience. One of the highlights was a motorcycle-riding, oxygen wheeling, wheel chair rolling veteran who was meeting some old friends from Fort Mitchell. As one of his friends walked in and was greeted with "good morning" to which he responded "what's good about it??!" and that was that. But if they were to get over themselves and actually learn the meaning of service at a resultant and that we pay to eat their food and also the ambiance, then maybe they would get more customers and ratings. read more

We were on our way to Panama City Beach FL today from NC and were on the road looking for a place to eat and found this place. It's in a small strip mall but is definitely worth the stop. We came as a party of 5, 2 adults 3 kids and they had plenty of seating and more then enough high chairs and booster seats. The menu is simple but offers many choices and combinations. We got a BLT with fries (bacon cooked to perfection), a half order of French toast and a breakfast sampler- it was massive and came with 2 pancakes, biscuits and gravy, 2sausage, 2bacon, 2eggs, home fires or grits and was only $8.95! That was more then enough to split with one adult and the two little kiddos. Total bill was under $20 for 5 people! Say what?! Unheard of elsewhere. The waiter (possible owner) was super friendly and the food came out insanely fast! The cafe is super clean and the women's bathroom has an actual changing table instead of the wall mounted one which is great because my littlest one hates those. We showed up close to closing time but never felt rushed and truly enjoyed our food. Make sure you stop on by! read more
