As usual, the first greeting tells you a lot. Not happy to see me at 7:50. This is a fast casual…read moreplace and must be slammed at lunch but breakfast seems like an afterthought. Ordered the 3-egg breakfast burrito. Sorry, I've prepared 3-egg breakfasts for myself nearly everyday for 15 years on the Slow Carb Diet and this was probably 2 small eggs. 2 pieces of green pepper. I picked up my order at the counter. Wrapped in paper, on a paper plate with plastic fork and paper napkin. With the foam cup and plastic lid, the disposable trash pile was almost as big as the burrito. I asked for a metal fork. Nope. Go to the Sunrise Cafe. Same prices for MUCH better friendly service and food. I went yesterday and will go there tomorrow as well. I expect this place has great Cuban sandwiches. A fast-food restaurant.

My recent visit was not bad. Just not outstanding. I beat the lunch crowd to the counter service and ordered the roast pork platter ($14.72). It came with a large fountain drink/tea and was served with yellow rice, plantains and a small cup of black beans. The pork and onions were good. Moist and a good helping. The yellow rice was nothing special. But it wasn't dry. Plantains were, again, ok. And the black beans had nice seasoning. All served on a Dixie paper plate with plastic utensils. Quick and efficient. There is plenty of seating, all in an open dining area. No privacy. And it's okay if you bring your mail or a package to be shipped. Those services are available just inside the front door, to the left.

Good Lunch! Ordered…read morethe Tripleta sandwich. Came with fries which I didn't expect. Tried to order the yucca but they were out. Ordered an empanada instead. Empanada was good. I've made them; they are hard to stuff full and this beef one was very good with an average amount of filling. It wasn't jam packed, but it sure wasn't scrawny. Filling was tasty, pastry was crispy and it came with a sweetened cilantro creme sauce. Sandwich was awesome. Had roast shredded pork, grilled chicken and beef, all of which was seasoned great, very flavorful. Sauteed onions and a few red pickled(?) onions were on top with cheese. Sandwich was pressed perfectly and served with a cilantro cream sauce that was really good but a touch too sweet for my taste. In my humble opinion, an avocado/cilantro/lime sauce would have been better, but that's just my taste. I added some hot sauce (Cholula) that I had at the shop and it balanced the sweet. Overall, really good, and they have Cuban coffee, cafe Cubano/colada, etc. I'll definitely be back. I love Latin/Cuban/Mexican cuisine and what I had was really good. Give it a try. I see some - reviews here but my experience was very positive. Friendly staff and patrons too!

In fact when I last went, my food was kind of gross. Because she intended to still make Cuban dishes, but that was not Cuban in any way. I am sure she can make good Mexican food, she should change the name of the place and stick to cooking Mexican food. They were very nice though.

You might think otherwise, but the owners behind the counter were not very friendly and made me feel unwelcome and unappreciated. I had the distinct sense it was because I am not Hispanic, and I spoke to them in English. I ordered a lechon asado and a Cubano. Both sandwiches were very below average. The pork was tasteless. And the Cubano had a very skimpy portion of ham (1/2 slice) and Swiss (don't think there was any). It was mostly pork. The bread was not baked there or from a Cuban bakery...it was from Winn-Dixie! I know because I inquired where they got their bread. Seriously, I make waaaay better Cubanos and lechon asado at home. And I buy my bread directly from a Cuban bakery. I think it probably serves decent Cuban coffee as there were a couple of people at a table having pastry and coffee. Me? No need to ever go back.

The name has been changed to Three tides Caribbean restaurant!…read more I went last Thursday after reading the Very racist review from someone over 7 months ago. Claiming it was closed and that it was tacky (i know it's their opinion and some opinions are tailored to a group more than just giving good old fashion tips and objective observations .) The place looks like a tiki resort/bar. In my opinion, I liked it! They were able to make me a very delicious mocktail. I happen to go when they were doing inappropriate karaoke (which is a very fun loving group of people there every week with an amazing host and piaaannooooo man) The menu was priced nicely And the portion was big. I had enough to last me the next day. I order my absolute fav item (legume diri blan and sous pwa iykyk) it came with pikliz and Bannun. The rice was perfect. The legume was well seasons and plenty BEEF in it. Not SHESSSSSHHH at all. The pikliz was FYYYYAAHHHH it was the perfect level of spicy (not for moun blan who can't eat black pepper, it will clean your colons. lol) . Everything was perfection. I can't wait to go again next week Wednesday bc i heard they do line dancing. So if you're up for an adventure try it out. So far it's the best Haitian food spot in PSL in my books!!!
