We live in Dunedin and walked by this cafe at least 100 times and every time we say to each other "we need to try this place". We finally did last night. I had the bourbon salmon (a little over cooked) that was really good. Boyfriend got the chicken Marsala and he said it was really good. Desert was delicious. I recommend the French Onion Soup & their Gumbo. They're both excellent; we bring home qts. Tonight I had the Tuscan Pork Chop Wednesday night Special. There must of been a full pound of 2" thick, juicy, tender bone in meat for $18, enough food for 3 meals. The other highpoint of our visit was Cooper. She's the bartender, wait staff, & take-home gal behind the counter. She's complete w/ personality, cordiality, & efficiency. We had an excellent experience. To start with ordered Feta Alfresco and it was delicious. Then I got a Reuben and potato salad, which was fantastic and will order it again. My husband got a Ranch Chicken and fries and it was delicious as well. Our server was Kaveh and he was a fantastic server. Wow. The portions here are HUGE. My grandmother and I split a chicken Parmesan plate and we each got a salad and bread with it for around $20 total. It's not gourmet but it's good Italian food and I would for sure come back. The chicken was hot and crispy which made the entire dish. The wait staff was quick and refilled drinks quickly. Been to Dunedin a few times now. I've gone up and down Main Street often, stopping at a lot of shops and trying out different restaurants. I finally decided to try Cafe Alfresco with my mom.....and I'm glad we did!! Our waiter, Dan, is was absolutely awesome! Such a sweet and helpful gentleman. He recommended a few things on the menu. Throughout the whole meal, he was attentive and was always quick to fill up our drinks when he noticed them getting low. For an appetizer, we got pork dumplings. There's 6 on a plate, which was perfect for just the two of us! They were also super yummy as well! Would definitely get again. For dinner, I had the orange chicken which was AMAZING and very filling as well. My mom had the lobster roll and she thought it was delicious. She loved the roll that they served it on. As far as taste goes...this place has it. Seems like everything they have is nice. Good proportions, good balance of ingredients etc. I had the Reuben. I hate too much sauerkraut. These guys did it right. Just the perfect amount. The pie was plain bonkers. Tastes homemade. Tastes so Fuckn fresco. Blueberry was the best. Like give me a whole pie. Reese's was really good too. I love this place, I really do. But, I have been getting their blackened chicken walnut salad for 6 years now and in the last 2 months it has gotten noticeably smaller and smaller. Cafe Alfresco is located in the exciting shopping area of Dunedin, FL. Since I have tried a couple of other cafes in the area, I visited this cool cafe on a busy Friday afternoon. This was spot was a pleasant surprise in Dunedin. I hadn't been to the town before and I discovered it's actually a really fun spot! Stopped in here for lunch on a weekend and we were seated almost immediately, outside thankfully. I spotted their cake/cheesecake selection and I was already tempted to order something. They were still serving brunch so I ordered one of their omellete's and it was really tasty! The side of potatoes tasted super fresh too. And it was so big I had to take half of it home. Excellent service and absolutely divine food The Thai sweet chili shrimp appetizer was to die for The four different dinners were each so scrumptious that there was little conversation as we devoured the wonderful food. We had two of the specials -- the fried chicken and the fried grouper basket, and the other dishes we had were the shrimp scampi and the chicken Picatta. Stopped in here one Saturday afternoon for a late brunch! I was warmly greeted by the staff and the bar when we got the last two open seats at the bar. I liked the amount of options on brunch menu and decided to go with the eggs Benedict with bacon subbed for the Canadian bacon. I was happily surprised with the meal! Just a really well made Benedict and some dang good bacon. The potatoes on the side were good as well, but I would have preferred a little crispier. Stopped by to pick up food for a our COVID date night. We ate at the waterside park nearby. Service was good and safe. Buuuuttt, food was just lacking in flavor. I love to try Grouper sandwiches. Nothing to write home about this one. Plain, plain, plain. Not even the tartar sauce was exciting! I was told green beans was the veggie side, not only was it actually a mixed veggies side but there was not a single green bean. Disappointed. I don't care for soft cooked veggies. We actually threw them out and didn't even eat them. The saving part of the meal was the crab cakes. Sure they're not your thick pieces of crab meat, but there was definitely crab through the whole thing. Great flavor too. Overall, not coming back. :/ read more

Even though I live in Tampa, I always forget how great Dunedin is. The Cafe is a staple and I have never had a bad meal. We started with the fried feta with garlic bread and the shrimp appetizers. Very good and they came out fast! Next they had to twist my arm (not really) for the baby back rib special, but looking at the other orders at the table, I would have been just as happy with the fried chicken, the meatloaf or the lobster roll! The ribs truly were "fall off the bone" quality and the taste was spectacular. For desert, we ran the gambit with coconut cream pie, chocolate torte, key lime pie and I rounded out the table with blueberry pie a la mode. I only wish the table would have spun to make it easier to taste everyone's desert! Dinner was delicious, but we ate so much, that a walk to the pier afterwards was a necessity! read more
