Love the vibe and the service is amazing. Came in during happy hour with a family and it did not disappoint. Most people were at the bar or outdoors. Nice bar area. We sat inside in the a/c. All the food we ordered was flavorful and left everyone happy. Drinks were really good here as well. Will be back when in the area.

I've been here twice since it was Salty Soul. My previous review which carried over to this profile was from Pearly Eats, the previous place. Much of the menu was the same and maybe some differences. Pearly Eats use to be open in Clearwater Beach in case that rings a bell. As Salty Soul, they have wonderful customer service. Super friendly and helpful and it's like you know each other as friends. They take great care of you here. They are also super dog friendly here so it's an all around nice inviting place. They have a cool chill coastal and Key West Vibe here. It's def something you may be looking for when visiting. They serve up tacos and bowls and seafood baskets, & well as fun drinks. Cocktails and mocktails too so everything for everyone. I think this is a cool spot to check out and then head over to walk the town or go to the beach. It won't be too heavy when you hang out too. Def a great chill spot in Dunedin.

We were out in Dunedin and found this little place while walking around. It has a wonderful tropical vibe! It's clean and tidy. Our server was great. Happy and always smilling. We all chose different burgers and they were all good. The Cajun fries were bangin! They dipping sauce was spicy but yummy. Prices are affordable and large portions. We shared a large slice of cheesecake which was also delicious! We would definitely go again when in the area!

Great little spot off of Main Street in Dunedin. They have amazing tacos and a good selection of beverages if you're walking around the area and want to get a quick bite! The inside is cozy, but there are also plenty of tables on the outside picnic area to eat and watch things going on in the outside area. Service started out a little slow, but once if someone finally recognized, we were there, it picked up and we had a nice visit.

FYI... the current owner of Salty Soul doesn't have control of this profile yet, so the automated menu and things are out of date! This used to be Pearly's, but she bought it and slowly moved it to full service over the last few years. My wife and I were looking for a new spot to try in Dunedin, and discovered Salty Soul just driving the downtown area. The menu looked good, but the charm of a home turned into an eatery with an amazing outdoor area is what drew us in. We WILL be back!! Our waitress was amazing and so knowledgeable, and we even got to meet the owner and chatted. We could hear the bartender and he was super friendly, too! You probably won't encounter bad service or a moody server! We weren't super hungry so we decided to split the fried fish Beach Basket -- and it was a large enough portion for the two of us! (It comes with either fish, chicken, or shrimp). The fries were AMAZING, the hush puppies were pretty much what you'd get at any fish place, and the two pieces of fried fish were huge, but we both felt they could use some work. Mainly just that the batter was a bit thick where it could be a lot lighter and crispier. If the kitchen can nail that, it will be great! Looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other amazing-looking dishes (we saw some amazing stuff being carried by our table).

Salty Soul Island Kitchen is the epitome of a tropical feeling laid back indoor/outdoor restaurant. It is sure to make you feel like you are on vacation while visiting, even if you're not. They have a very tropical menu of food and drinks, but I have to say the overall food experience was disappointing. I got a toasted coconut drink and half of the cup was full of pieces of coconut, cucumber chunks and other stuff, so much so that I couldn't take a drink without chewing on something and ur was kind of just gross. Definitely not appetizing. I would say the drink itself really wasn't great either, it was just strong. Maybe I just chose the wrong drink- another in my party got a light IPA beer that was pretty good and I liked more than my drink. We also tried a ahi tuna nacho appetizer, and it was pretty much just tortilla chips, chunks of tuna and spicy mayo sauce on a plate. The tuna was fresh and tasted good but this was something I could have literally thrown together in my own kitchen, I was just hoping for more. So, I loved the atmosphere and service here- 5 stars on that for sure. But between the unpleasant drink and food it just wasn't that great overall. I will definitely come back at some point to try an actual entree on their menu, adds maybe a cider since they have some on tap. It is within walking distance of downtown Dunedin as well so it's in a great spot.

Lucked out finding thia super cute place. The staff was great and friendly. Ambiance was amazing. We only had the Surf N Turf fries which were delicious but I'm sure other food is great too. We look forward to returning.

Salty Soul has a great happy hour. The Chip Trio was huge and included guacamole, salsa, and queso at only $4.99 during happy hour. All dips tasted delicious and the chips were fresh. The bar service was excellent and the atmosphere was island vibe.

What a great find. We went to Dunedin to visit a couple of breweries and found this restaurant right down the street. The hostess was super friendly and we were seated right away. It's a really lovely restaurant with lots of outdoor seating and indoor with a cool surf theme. Our waitress was equally as nice and she took our drink order very quickly. They have a full bar and lots of wine and beer selections. We stated with an appetizer and selected the Tune Poke Cups. They are very interesting and we loved the contents of tuna, avocado, cucumber and green onions. They were tossed in soy sauce topped with Homemade spicy Volcano sauce and black sesame seeds. They are in 3 plantain cups which were good but also very thick and were a bit thick and seemed to overtake the contents. I went with a 3 taco combo the Volcano Shrimp, Fish-blackened and the Shrimp-blackened. The Volcano Shrimp has fried shrimp, Mango Jicama slaw with Spicy Volcano sauce topped with shredded cheese. Super flavorful. The Fish tacos were similar in term of ingredients but with blackened whitefish. The Shrimp tacos had corn & bean slaw with Homemade Shaka sauce. They all had very unique flavor. I did a side of hush puppies with the tacos and they also were super good and sweet. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely make it back to try so other menu items, there are a ton of other options besides just tacos.

We were looking for a family friendly place to have lunch in downtown Dunedin and this place came highly recommended! There is plenty of outdoor seating of picnic tables and great for big groups! We found a nice table on the side. They are very kid friendly and our kids got a kids menu activity sheet and crayons to draw which they loved! Kids menu was decent- my kids had the chicken bowl and the quesadilla and came with rice or fries. I took 1 star off as there were no veggies offered or included! I ordered the taco bowl and hubby had the burrito. They were tasty and flavorful and big enough portions. The service was top notch- they were super attentive and they kept checking in on us if we needed anything. This place had a great vibe and would definitely come back here again! Also love the decor and the cute photo op places! Overall I rate it 4/5

The weather wasn't the best and we had some time to kill, so we took the hour-and-a-half drive to St. Pete--and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. As soon as we stepped out of the car, the music alone set the tone for good vibes and a welcoming atmosphere. As we approached, there were a few people in line ahead of us, so we took our time looking over the menu. While we were deciding, you could hear the ding of DoorDash orders going off like crazy (definitely a good sign). When it was our turn to order, we were greeted by the owner and mastermind behind it all, Ray. Ray was very personable and outgoing, answering any questions we had and offering great suggestions. He was truly a jack of all trades and handled everything like a rockstar. While we waited, we sat at one of the wooden tables and chatted with other customers, who had nothing but great things to say. There was also a nice selection of drinks, ranging from soda and water to beer and even shots of tequila. To start, we ordered the Loaded Pulled Pork Fries. The pork was extremely tender and juicy, having been perfectly smoked for nine hours. It was served over a plethora of fries and topped with BBQ sauce and their house-made sauce. You definitely couldn't stop at just one bite--but we had to save room for more. First on our list was the famous Rapture Sandwich, which earned a solid five stars across the board. Made with shaved ribeye steak, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and Ubuntu's special house-made sauce on a pretzel bun, the flavors complemented one another perfectly. Unanimously, this was one of the best steak sandwiches we've ever had. Next up were the Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tenders, and OH MY--let me tell you! These tenders were chef's kiss. They were cooked to the perfect crispness, and the sauce was out of this world. I have never tasted garlic parm like this before. Honestly, this was one of my personal favorites. After that, we tried the Take a Bao sandwiches. You can choose between pork or dynamite chicken, and we went with the chicken. The bao buns were like biting into a cloud--they were unbelievably soft. The chicken was marinated flawlessly and topped with cilantro and black sesame seeds. Definitely a go-to item. Ubuntu also offers a variety of vegan options. The Impossible Empanadas were superb--you would never guess they were vegan. They were cooked to a golden brown, crispy, and full of flavor. If I didn't live in another state, I would have ordered one of everything on the menu to take home for everyone to try. I highly recommend making a stop at Ubuntu--trust me, you'll be glad you did. This place is truly off the charts! To the staff at Ubuntu, I wish you continued success and encourage you to keep striving for excellence.
