Our friends recommended this spot, and it absolutely did not disappoint! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are super friendly, and the drink selection is excellent. I had the lasagna, which was hearty, cheesy, and delicious. My wife ordered the Lemon-Asparagus Salmon, and it was amazing -- perfectly cooked salmon that was tender and flaky, paired with a rich, creamy lemon-butter sauce. The veggies were cooked al dente, with the asparagus and charred tomatoes adding a ton of flavour, and the rice was beautifully cooked and seasoned. We've been coming here for date night for the past three years now and it's a very cute restaurant but it has many flaws. We always love to order the saganaki but this time it was rock solid cold even after the fire/flames. So that was really disappointing. I ordered the Shrimp Amore, the shrimps tastes really good, seasoned well, good portion, and most importantly they came out hot lol but the mash potatoes and the veggies were again really cold... unfortunately. I've been here so many times and now I'm thinking it's time to go else where because I've definitely had better food. Was surprised how bad this place was. Pizza was awful and I couldn't eat the pasta. Ordered an asparagus salad with gorgonzola which they "forgot" to add the gorgonzola to. Dark and dingy inside. Service is pedestrian at best. Try harder. read more

I've been here a handful of times and I have always had a delightful experience until the other day. Perhaps the waiter was off his game or maybe he's just not a very good waiter. I ordered a dry vodka martini straight up with a twist, the waiter has to come back and confirm my order thinking I wanted a dirty martini, I clarify that I want a twist, NOT dirty and he brings me a martini with a lemon twist and 3 olives?!?? I ask for it to be remade (I really do not like olives) and he brings me back a glass that looks like it was what someone left at the bar. When I mentioned the lack of beverage all I got in reply was "that's a 2 oz martini" I ordered a martini, not a 2 oz martini and when I've gotten a martini here previously it was a full glass. Amazing food, great prices, and friendly atmosphere. Their pear, asparagus, and gorgonzola salad ($15) is amazing - fresh, generous portions, toasted walnuts, and pita bread is over the top! It's also meal sized so no need for an additional entree. The pizza was delicious! Their pizza ($13) is made fresh in the restaurant with a stone baked oven. You can see the crust and toppings being freshly prepared. TIP: Ask for dressing to the side. Their vinegar dressing on the salad will be too powerful and potent. read more

And here for a work function Christmas party. Place was packed when we arrived. Parking is available in big plaza parking lot. Coworkers and I were greeted nicely by the our server who was professional and polite. We had apps which were quite filling and delicious. Mains were okay. Some mains were a bit on the greasy side and some were not anything special. Prices are fair and below average for pasta and steak kinda dishes. This place was great, my family and I thought it had the cutest atmosphere. Carne pizza and Seafood marseille were the two biggest hits at our table. My husband loved his chicken dish that had a goat cheese sauce with sun dried tomatoes. We split the italian torte and strawberry shortcake for dessert, both very good. The whole shebang took a little long but not unreasonable for a night out to enjoy everyone's company, just could have been slightly faster.The deal where you get 3 courses for $22 was really worth it! read more

Had dinner with my partner at Café Amore last night. Service was amazing and friendly! I had the "Spicy Meatball Pizza." Just flat out delicious and a great value. It is a single sized but it could really feed two. It is a pleasure to stumble upon a restaurant like this where it is abundantly clear that the staff actually care about the job they are doing and the experience of their clients. It really shows with the staff at Café Amore. I would absolutely come to this restaurant again. If I lived in St. Catherines I would be a regular. Just loved my experience here. read more

Wow what a wonderful restaurant! I've been meaning to go to Cafe Amore for a while but never seemed to get around to it. I finally made it tonight for my birthday and I'm glad I did. The baked shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad and Greek pizza were amazing! My family were equally impressed by their meals. Large group of 20 ladies visiting for Canadian Henley, so we has 2 tables of 10. Service was excellent and food was delish.

Our group popped in on a whim for appies and dessert. We weren't dressed up, I admit. Jeans and hoodies, but still neat and presentable. It wasn't really busy. Lots of tables available. But we were taken to a corner behind a wall, near the bathrooms. We felt like we were being hidden. Our food was disappointing. We decided to share the charcuterie platter. What we got were obvious off cuts of cheese and prosciutto. Being tucked away seemingly meant that we got forgotten a few times. Note to self - only go back if well-dressed. read more

We had a tense situation with our server Emily. We had a 6 pm reservation and sat for 15 minutes and had to ask someone if there was a server for our area. Emily was notified and took her time coming outside as we were sitting on the patio. With Covid we did not want to sit inside. Emily dragged herself to our table with her mask below her nose. It was the same when she delivered our drinks, salad and meal. When it came time for the cheque and tip she decided to try to be friendly but when she brought the debit machine, her whole mask was under her chin and she stood 2' from us. We were extremely uncomfortable but felt that Emily would not like to be reminded about masking, distance and Covid. I tried to call the restaurant all day but they aren't answering the phone. I've never had such a bad experience with a server. And no tip for my first time ever. The food was great but I tip for service. I hope she's fired as that attitude was not reserved for just our table. I don't think I'lol go back if there is a chance we'd get Emily again. I emailed but did not get a response. read more

This was delicious. They accommodated a business luncheon for 18 people without breaking a sweat. The server was spot on and attentive. The cuisine ranged from the daily pasta special, specialty pizzas, salads (which are very large), various sandwiches, and my favorite the HARISSA CHICKEN SANDWICH. I like spicy food and would put this at a medium heat, with great flavor and the FETA cheese went very well together. The sandwiches, burgers, and specialty sandwiches are all served with fresh cut fried potato chips...DELICIOUS. Save room for dessert, made in house. Excellent meal! 2 of us dined, and both enjoyed the food. The grilled 10-oz pork chop with balsamic glaze was delicious; served with perfectly cooked fresh vegetables and rustic mashed potatoes. I ordered a pizza being told it was an individual pizza, and it could serve 2-3 people. I mean I generally like more food, but it's still a lot for one person. In regards to the pizza itself, pretty much the whole thing was great. The only thing thing I had a problem with is that the onions were a little rubbery, and I got a big chunk that wasn't plesent. I like almost everything in their menu, sandwiches, salads, pizza, pastas and the desserts are all very good. It is a family friendly place. I have heard good things about this place but everything I experienced there this evening was just plain bad. The Caesar salad was lettuce cut into ribbons with a knife (I know lots of places do this but that is no excuse) soaked in oil and vinegar with two croutons and served with rolls (cold, no butter). The eggplant parmesan was soggy. And the service was nonexistant; the waitress ignored me for half an hour and if I hadn't hunted her down I would probably still be sitting there. To list: we waited an unusually long time before a server appeared. No mention of specials. No suggestion of drink or appetizer. Finally when shd reappeared it was to take the entire order, drinks etc at the same time. Everything was served at the same time. No asking about coffee etc. Something was definitely very off tonight which was disappointing as this was to be a birthday celebration. It might be a while before we get over our disappointment. The overall ambiance of this restaurant is really nice and it is newly renovated. I highly recommend coming here for dessert as their cheesecakes are super good! However, I ordered the chicken souvlaki with rice pilaf and it was very underwhelming. The chicken was so dry I had to drink water to get it down. I have ordered from here in the past with good experience. Lately my orders have been small and the quality has really went down hill not to mention the horrible customer service from the younger waiters. The older women are good. I have also had problems with there takeout service. Last time I went they said it would be ready in 25 min. It was ready in 1 hour 5 min and my order was wrong. If I wrote this review a couple of years ago I would definitely recommend. But it's a shame now to say save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I have been a few times before and thought it would be a good place to go New Year's Eve. I am glad I made a reservation because the restaurant was full. I was impressed that despite the crowd I never felt rushed. I think everyone was given to feel that his dining experience was special. Our server was warm and friendly and we were checked on regularly by her and others to be sure that we were enjoying our meals and evening. The food was delicious. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, and my one regret was that I didn't keep the dish to mop up the leftover cheese and shrimp stuffing with my garlic bread later. My companion had one of the daily specials -- a lobster and crab Alfredo on penne pasta. It was so good. I ordered from the regular menu and had the stuffed sole. The stuffing was cheese, spinach, and shrimp and may have been the same as what was in the stuffed mushroom appetizer--which was good because I wanted more. And this time I was smart enough to get some extra garlic bread to address the issue of leftover sauce. Because we were both proud members of the Clean Plate Club and hadn't embarrassed ourselves by actually licking the plates (though tempted), we rewarded ourselves with the chocolate mousse cake. It's alright. Pretty simple. The pasta sauce is bland. And they have a lot of desserts, but really they're all just what other places are having shipped in from a factory. They just have all of them instead of a couple that they rotate. If you like factory cheesecake (not Cheesecake Factory) desserts, this is the place to come. read more

We've been here a few times and I think it is quite good. My wife likes it as well but is not quite as big a fan. We go here regularily, the food is always good, very reasonable prices, great service. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because one time we went the chicken parmesan was almost burned and the pasta was overcooked but out of the dozen or more times we have been this has only happened once. I do not recomend. I ordered the family size 4 cheese Cajun and extra spicy. The meal was not spicy at all, even less then normal spicy level. It was also not cheesy at all and the pan that it comes in was only half full. What a big $40 dissapointment. I have been ordering from there for the past 6 years. The last year has been very inconsistent. I will not be going back and will be advising my many friends that I recomended to go to this restaurant of my recent experience. read more
