The fried goat cheese with raspberry honey was a revelation. Although they didn't give us enough crostinis (only five quarter sized slices to accommodate a circle of goat cheese the size of a bar of soap), The flavor of the honey was delightful. The raspberry flavor was evident, and putting it onto the crostini and goat cheese really was a delicious bite of joy. Unfortunately, that's the only nice thing I can say about this restaurant at all. Our server came to the table and asked us what we wanted. We told her that we wanted the goat cheese and the lasagna, but we were unsure what type of pizza that we wanted. We had boiled it down to two separate choices. She responded both of our choices were her favorite, but she loved one because it had pesto sauce. That was it. Not because of the cheese, not because of the accoutrements that they put onto the pizza to make a standout, none of that. The thing she liked was the pesto sauce, and she said it so earnestly that I knew that she didn't like that pizza at all, she was just trying to make a sale. So we chose the other pizza which was one with prosciutto and arugula with a balsamic glaze on top. We also ordered water. We never saw our server again. She didn't bring the food to the table, and she definitely didn't follow up with us to see if we needed anything, or at the flavors of the food was okay. If she had been there, and she had asked, maybe the car accident that happened later on in our dining experience would have never occurred. But she wasn't there, and somebody had to drive their car... So the crash happened. The lasagna that we were served was quite possibly the most oversized piece of wet noodle that I've ever had in my entire life. You legitimately could not taste anything but the fresh pasta noodle (which in itself was a very well cooked fresh pasta noodle) and tomato sauce. The basil? Non-existent. Oregano? Not here. Red wine? Where do they do that at, because it definitely wasn't there. It tasted like Hamburger Helper lasagna that you used to eat when you were a little kid. The pizza itself had an issue in that prosciutto is a meat that if not cooked correctly does not come apart in one bite. In that, they just laid it directly on top of the cooked pizza dough and raw arugula. So the meat did not have any texture to it besides elastic, I guess. After getting tired of waiting for our server to come back to our table, and we were at this restaurant for about 45 minutes, I finally walked over to where a gentleman was sitting at a table with another man standing at the table talking to him. The gentleman who was standing at the table had come over to other tables around us to bring checks and whatnot, so I figured he was either the manager or the owner. When I asked him about it, he said he was the owner of the establishment. Cool. I introduced myself and gently advised him about the lasagna after telling them how great the fried goat cheese was. His response about the lasagna not having any flavor past meat and tomato was, "did you taste the cheese?" Yes. I tasted the cheese. What I didn't taste was basil, oregano, red wine, salt, pepper, garlic, onions or anything else that you would think would go into a good lasagna. He then responded by saying that they've been in this place for 50 years, and he's been there for 8 years, and he's never gotten a complaint about the lasagna. He said that since I'm a chef, which I am, it's akin to a construction worker going to a house and seeing all of the faults in the house. He seemed really insulted that I noticed the faults, by the way. He said that he's never had a complaint about the food until I got there, and that was it. He and the other two gentlemen at the table then just sat quietly until I stood and went back to my table where our server had miraculously reappeared, because I also told him about our server's absence. The first question our server asked me was, "what did you tell the manager?" The food was as flavorless as an Andrew Dice Clay joke. There's another restaurant next door. Go there. read more

We decided to try Mama Mia's on a whim after seeing its decent Google reviews, but unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the ratings. The service was very slow, though it seemed clear the servers were doing their best and were simply overwhelmed. There were only about three servers handling a busy dining room, and we waited over 30 minutes for our food. As for the food, it was just average. Nothing stood out, and overall it didn't feel worth the wait. Between the slow service and the underwhelming meal, there wasn't really any aspect of the experience that impressed us. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a lengthy wait of about 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, the dishes were disappointingly bland. During my dinner there I was servered 2 raw portions of Chicken Parmesan. After being served the first I have to wait 20 minutes to receive a second piece of raw chicken. My partner sat across from me and ate her meal alone and finished it by the time anything was brought out. They then decided to try to justify how the chicken was not raw and that "it's just the sauce the chicken is cooked in". After laughed it off and disagreed they decided to take off the cost of the singular meal. This whole fiasco caused us to be late to a show we had scheduled, getting the check even took a decent bit of time. On the way out I left an internal review about the poor experience and what is presumed to be the owner or manager reached out offering a gift card or refund of the meal. Once I said I would take a refund for the rest of the meal as compensation for the terrible experience they went quiet. No refund was received. I would try to avoid this place as there is a more respectable establishment next door that treats their customers better. Just wanted to warn potential patrons! read more

First night in Niagara Falls, Canada and decided on Mama Mia's since it's in walking distance to where we are staying. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. Lauren, our server, seated us by the big window, which allowed us view the street activity while we ate. Lauren, was very sweet and accommodating. She kept our drinks topped off and checked in routinely to see if we needed anything. I ordered the Meat lovers personal pizza ($24) to share with Nancy. Nancy's sister ordered the fettuccine Alfredo ($22). The food was great and there was enough to go around between the three of us; however, I do have to say that it is expensive for what we received. After tax and tip my pie was nearly $32 and my sister-in-law's was nearly $30. So over $60 for two dinners with water. I guess that's just how it is out here with the 13% tax and all. Regardless, I'm going to find out over the next couple of days. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from in this area, I'm glad the first one worked out. I have to bring up something that bothered me about this place. One of the cooks (arms covered with tattoos) kept entering the dining area and hanging on a counter by the service doors and would just stare at us and other customers, it was creepy. It was at a point where I was about to change my mind about dining here. I can't say we will be back because we have a busy few days with an endless variety of restaurants to choose from, but if I have the opportunity to come back I wouldn't just because of the creepy dude working there. read more

Wonderful atmosphere. Felt comfortable and relaxed while I waited for my food. The wait wasn't long at all, maybe 5 to 10 mins max. While your waiting they give you fresh bread rolls that are DELICIOUS. I HIGHLY recommend the margaritas pizza it was spectacular. The dough is light and airy. The tomato sauce is the tastiest part. The fresh mozzarella or "fior di latte" as it says on the menu is good. I normally don't like basil but it worked perfectly with the sauce. Every summer, my kids and I go to Niagara Falls for a few days. For one of our dinners, we dress up. My son and I wear nice clothes and neckties, and my daughter wears a very nice dress. The restaurant we normally go to was a nice Italian place called The Como, in Little Italy on the American side. Unfortunately, they went out of business this year. Still wanting Italian for our dress up dinner, we saw Mama Mia's Italian Eatery and decided to try it. We were very glad that we did, because from our first step inside, we knew we made the right choice. The hostess and waitresses were extremely nice, polite, helpful, and patient. Not only with us, but everyone within earshot. The service was quick, the freshly made bread was still warm and soft, and the main pasta dishes that we got were amazing. There was so much that we could only finish half! And the view from the upper floor was great, too! It was obviously not a fast food joint, but people still ate there wearing shorts and flip flops. This place should be taken as a formal restaurant and given the respect it deserves, but the people who work there are so nice, they didn't seem to notice or mind. The prices of the food were very reasonable, and we have decided to make Mama Mia's our annual formal dinner. read more

We were able to keep the bread and butter appetizer as leftovers at where we're staying for my 5 year old - and we were able to keep the spaghetti, pesto pasta and chicken parm as later leftovers as well that all kept fine but it was just mediocre food. It's kinda what you expect, comparable to the ready-made ones at the grocery store. So nothing I'd be craving to have again. I love Italian food, and I thought this restaurant was adorable. I love the name and the scenery. After walking around, we were starving and looking for a place to eat. We somehow stumbled upon this gem. My sister and I were seated right away. Our waitress was amazing and had great customer service. My sister is always indecisive and kept changing what she wanted, unable to decide. We both wanted pizza, and alfredo at the same time. The waitress helped us save money by showing us the size of the pizzas, and told us that the portion size for alfredo was pretty big. We decided to get pizza and alfredo. She even brought us extra plates. She was very attentive, filling our drinks for us and asking us how everything tasted. The food was delicious. I loved the pizza and the alfredo. The pizza had the perfect amount of sauce and mozzarella, on a thin crust. We were so full and happy to spend very little. It felt like we spent less here overall than we did on a drink at the Coca Cola shop. I already know I am coming here again next time. I am always in the mood for italian. read more

We ordered Spaghetti Fra Diavolo ($26.99), Pasta Primavera ($20.99), Meat Lovers Pizza ($18.99) and Pizza Mediterraneo ($18.99). The meat lovers pizza was definitely better than the Mediterraneo in terms of taste. The sour/bitter taste of the Kalamata olives on the Mediterraneo was too overbearing and I would prefer more cheese and spice. Also, the meat lovers tasted like the average ones you get at most Italian restaurants with nothing special. I would definitely not recommend the Pasta Primavera because I think it is just an overpriced plate of spaghetti, tomato sauce and vegetables. I had to constantly add spice and parmesan to it to make it tasty enough to eat. On the other hand, the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo with pan seared shrimp, clams and PEI mussels was phenomenal! There was a bug on our salad. We asked for a new salad and they brought back the same salad, not knowing I took a picture and video. All they did was remove the bug because the salad they brought back had the same tomato seed on the cucumber. The lady with birth mark on her face also never gave us our complimentary bread. Uncrowded, super friendly staff, fast service, amazing food, and great prices! Huge portions for $18 and for my family of four, only came up to $75. Free bread and butter with the purchase of pasta. Pizza is around 11' a little bigger than an individual size with 6 slices, very delicious crispy handmade crust, yummy cheese, great sauce and delicious topping. Very friendly waiter when I asked to change the topping on the pizza. The kids menu portions are quite big for $9 which is great. read more

I absolutely love this place. The staff was friendly. The food was so incredibly delicious and this may sound silly but their soda was great. You know how some places have more carbonated soda? It's almost as if their 7-up was stronger than other places. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, I ordered gnocchi with a white garlic sauce and mushrooms. It isn't on the menu. The gnocchi is but on the menu it is with a red sauce. The waitress offered to make it any way I liked. It was melt in your mouth good. The picture doesn't show the true color of it. My photography is bad. My daughter ordered the cheese ravioli. It was also fantastic. The portions were a good size. And the meals come with bread and butter. The restaurant was clean too. The prices are a little high to me but that's because I'm not used to Canadian prices. For our two entrees and two drinks, the bill was $51 after taxes. We finished our day tour and finally stopped in front of this Italian restaurant. It wasn't our first time to niagara fall, but it's our first time to this restaurant. It wasn't entirely full when we walked into the place, and soon we were brought to a table. As a table of three, we ordered an appetizer and two main courses to share. After placing the orders, we were given some breads while we waited for our food. I usually don't have any expectation for the free bakery, however, these goodies were surprisingly delicious! Unlike other place, these breads are not dry but they are pretty fluffy. (Or maybe I was too hungry to judge correctly, it was around 8 pm after a long day walk) After waiting for around 20 mins, our orders came. We ordered Calamari fritti ($12) as the appetizer, but this plate was just huge and I think it's enough to be a main course itself. The calamari were nicely fried, not soggy at all, and I liked the spicy chipotle dip, a very nice touch. Then for one of the main, we had Pizza Canadese ($14.99). This was not bad but I found it too greasy. And the Pizza crust was the thick kind, personally I prefer thin crust pizza. And I wished there's more bacon on he pizza, maybe I should have added additional topping for $1.5. Overall I don't recommend this dish. Our other main course was Meta meta, a combo of lasagna and fettuccine alfredo ($16.99). I like how in one plate we can try two different dishes. I liked the lasagna, it got a very strong flavour and nice layering. While the fettuccine alfredo was just alright, I found it a little plain for just the sauce and pasta, but the taste is just right. Overall, I think this is a okay restaurant. If you are looking for a memorable dinning place or some really delicious food for your niagara fall trip, I wouldn't really suggest you to visit this place, unless you do not have other options, I think there's better dinning place in the fall area. But if it's just another typical fall trip and you just want some typical dinner, you can check out their fried calamari ;) cheers read more

When I saw this restaurant, ABBA's "Mamma Mia" played in my head on loop. I really like the ambience, very warm and Italian. The restaurant was located at a convenient location close to most of the attractions at Niagara. Prices were pretty reasonable for being located in a touristy area. Besides all that, the service, food and drinks were mediocre and disappointing. The waitress literally disappeared for 30 minutes to chitchat with her co-workers before coming back to take our orders. We had to flag down another waitress to transfer the message to our waitress. The restaurant was pretty empty, so I don't understand why the service was so slow. It was frustrating to sit around as a customer in hunger when the waitresses are just standing around gossiping. For an Italian place, their bread was pretty crappy. On one slice, there was some sort of liquid that was accidentally spilled on (I'm hoping water), leaving this soggy spot. The thought of that really grosses me out. For drink, I ordered a tequila sunrise and it tasted straight up like gasoline (I would imagine). The presentation was messy so there was no "sunrise effect". For my main course, I had the daily special: Penne Pollo Pesto. The portion was huge and I really like the creamy pesto tomato sauce, but the pasta was a bit too overcooked. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant unless you are really that hungry and unable to travel further to other food places. I will probably not return here again because there are better Italian options out there. read more

I understand that Niagara Falls is a tourist attraction, therefore I cannot expect authentic Italian food from a restaurant like this. However, what they served me was something I can whip up at home in 5 mins. We asked the server if the meatballs were homemade in which she lied to our face and said yes. I could clearly tell the meatballs were frozen and the sauce for the pasta was simply canned crushed tomatoes. The pizza tasted like cardboard, the ALCOHOLIC Pina Colada we ordered had 0 alcohol in it! The service was awful as well, it did not feel like an Italian hospitality restaurant in which the server seemed disinterested in making the customers have the best possible experience. We were visiting Niagara falls and were looking for a place to eat. There are a lot of chain restaurant here bit we felt like going somewhere different. We decided to try this place since it was not a chain and it was next door to our hotel. The staff is young but friendly. Their menu has some good selection. You have the classics like spaghetti meatball, as well as some combo plates. I went for a combo plate of fettuccine Alfredo and lasagna. My wife went for the seafood pasta. For my plate, the fettuccine Alfredo were ordinary. No special taste, just the same you would expect anywhere else. The lasagna was good bit it was really because of the sauce. They sell the sauce on location and I can see why. The seafood pasta plate though is the one you want to take. It's a bit pricier but the taste is simply incredible. There's a good quantity of seafood and the sauce has a really good taste. Tomato, seafood and some spices. I would recommend eating here anytime, if you don't eat the classics. read more

Wow I can't believe this place has only 3 stars!!!! I went to this place on a full stomach but still found some room for food. I order a pizza and shared it with my son. Although they started us off with some bread and oil. I wanted to totally avoid the bread but when I saw it there was no way in this world I would avoid it. It was fresh and just said eat me!!!! The olive oil was not to my standards as I am spoiled with Greek oil but it was italian which was just OK for me. But the bread was awesome. Our Pizza was very good. Bt the 5 star comes from the pasta I tested. Our friends ordered the special which was chicken in a special sauce. I am very picky when it comes to pasta and so rarely order it but had a small sample from my friend and was just blown away how good it was. The taste stayed will me all nite and gave me good luck at the casino with an extra 400 bucks in my pocket. Service was also excellent, very bubbly girl.
