    Garlic Halibut

Beautiful ambiance with plenty of glass windows, modern design, and most of all, excellent well-balanced food. They place samples of today's menu items on the counter, so you'll know what you'll get, including the size of your meal. Prices are also reasonable for the food quality. I had a garlic halibut. It looks very appealing with those red cherry tomatoes. See photo! It's a cafeteria style, so you pay before eating, they'll beep you to pick up your food when ready, and bush your own dirty dishes. Unfortunately, they open till 2 pm only. Otherwise, it's a lovely spot for afternoon coffee and meet up. There are plenty of pay-parking on the street level and the underground levels of the building. But for Stanford staff who want to use the monthly permit, it may be a little challenging to go find a free spot. Highly recommended for staff lunches and lunch meeting!

Hidden Gem: My Happy Place. This is my favorite place for morning coffee. I love the toasted cinnamon latte or mocha and a blueberry scone. It's a true hidden gem. Enter at the light at Vineyard Lane and park in the back surface lot (free for 3 hours) across from the Container Store. Go in where you see the red umbrellas/tables outside. The staff are so friendly! They knew my name within days. The prices are extremely reasonable, and you're not asked to tip at payment! Ask for the rewards card and get a free drink after 10 drinks. The ambiance is open and airy with big glass windows. In the morning, it's not crowded; almost never a wait and plenty of seats. I could walk to eight different coffee shops from home, but I'm willing to drive 10 minutes to what's become my happy place. Stanford employees get a discount. Highly recommend!

Decor is cute but sleek, vibes are calm, bar seating by window and a few small tables with seats. Ordering is fast at the kiosk front desk which doesn't seem to have a cashier. Lots of tasty drink options with milk choices and customizable sweetness and ice level - much appreciated! Cakes were delicious and filled with freshly whipped cream. We had the hojicha and biscoff ones. Not incredibly busy - a lot of orders were takeout. Cons: A lot of things were out of stock by 1pm but maybe this is due to Mother's Day. Pricey but the items were high quality. Store is a small footprint with limited utilities (no WiFi, bathroom was temporarily out of order). Parking is very difficult- it's on el Camino so the cars are unforgiving if you're trying to parallel park, and the road parallel by a block is not much better. It has an alley and a very cramped space in the back for a lot. Expect to walk.

The food did take quite a while to come out though. $80+ after tip. My husband and I agreed that we are happy we tried it however we think we can get better brunch for the price point. I understand it's a little more expensive because of this area. our favorite thing was the French toast. If we do come back, I think we will get just the French toast and drinks.

The burrata with peaches was an easy choice. Crisp, toasted crostini slices paired beautifully with the silky, creamy burrata, while the peaches added a pleasant touch of tangy sweetness. Finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh microgreens, every bite was well balanced. The beet salad was just as good. Generous chunks of roasted beets were accompanied by grapefruit, shaved fennel, and creamy avocado, all tossed in a bright, refreshing vinaigrette. The tangy goat cheese tied everything together perfectly. As if that weren't enough, I also ordered the Basil Melt. Layered with organic heirloom tomatoes, fresh organic basil, creamy mozzarella, and thyme aioli on an Acme baguette, it delivered fresh, vibrant flavors in every bite. Simple ingredients done right. To finish, I treated myself to their affogato, topped with house-made whipped cream. Rich, creamy, and wonderfully indulgent, it was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The only miss for me was the almond croissant. While I appreciated the generous topping of toasted sliced almonds, the house-made almond filling didn't quite deliver the rich, buttery flavor I was hoping for. Service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. The staff happily helped photograph our party of four, which was a thoughtful touch that added to an already enjoyable brunch experience. Overall, this is a wonderful neighborhood café with excellent savory dishes, and fantastic coffee drinks.
