I've tried their everything bagel sandwiches which are very good , and I've had their two egg breakfast - either of those every time. if you want a bagel and some fresh breakfast, this place is great, it has a nice atmosphere and they have all their bagels and baked goods on display right when you walk in, and there's a variety of types I tell you; they even have mini bagels! Which I had as a sandwich with a toasted everything-mini bagel, garlic herb cream cheese, lox, red onion, and tomato. My friend also ordered a jalapeño bagel with scrambled eggs and home fries. We ordered it all to-go. To start off -the service was friendly, and once our food was done - one of the employees brought it to us! Even though we had a number and they could've just called that, that was nice of them. Onto the food - my bagel was delicious, the garlic herb cream cheese paired extremely well with the Smokey flavour of the salmon, I wasn't a fan of the red onion and tomato so I took those off, but after taking those off, that was probably the best bagel I've ever had. On the contrary, my friends jalapeño bagel tastes just like a plain bagel, to the extent they even asked if they received the wrong one, the scrambled eggs and home fries were good, not much more to say. Missing Northeast Bagels since I move down here in 2013, this place was a godsend. Bacon egg and cheese on a toasted or non toasted bagel with spk? Thank you sir may I have another!! My neighbor told me about this place and took us there after a bike ride through Legacy Trail to give us our replenishment. I got him an amazing bagel for the sandwich that made me not so homesick anymore. That was back in 2015, and since then I've had their Bagel sandwiches several times and have never once been disappointed. If it wasn't so far away from me I would definitely make a trip there once a month to pick up some bagels for weekend breakfast. Actually now that I put words to it, I just went make it a monthly trip 20 miles each way to pick up some bagels for my family. If this locations too far south for you, the same owners also own and run Brooklyn Bagel up in Sarasota, which might be a little bit closer for those in the northern part of Sarasota County. My husband has had their bagels quite a few times and so they are just as good as Cafe Bagels. So I'd like to take this moment to thank the owners of both establishments for bringing the Northeast taste to Southwest Florida and making this New Jersey girl a little less homesick every time she takes a bite into one of their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches!!! read more

On vacation to AMI and stopped at this bagel shop to get bagels and a breakfast sandwich. Very busy shop. Breakfast sandwich was yummy, however, the bagels were refrigerated cold. Not sure if they had been frozen or left over from the day before. Also, taken back with the political paraphernalia posted on the wall near the register. Is that necessary? 5 stars for bagel quality! Definitely delicious bagels. Family run spot in Venice with easy access and plenty of parking. Dog friendly tables outside with a huge water bowl for doggie guests. Loved the bagel selections and the family friendly vibe. Plenty of inside tables with a counter too. Taylor Ham sandwiches and platters are available and delicious. Potatoes were okay but a bit soggy for my taste. The eggs were perfect too. The coffee is too strong and limited. On this day, the Jamaica Me Crazy was done and out for the day and it was 10:00 am. There was Hazelnut and French Vanilla plus the regular and decaf. There is a wide selection of flavored creamers for those that prefer flavor in their milk. Not a fan of the styrofoam coffee cups, would have preferred a cardboard cup or real cup. Again, the major star here is the bagels and totally will go back for more. I am a regular at Cafe Bagel and have been going for years. The bagels are phenomenal, the cream cheese on the other hand has changed over the years and is not very good anymore. It has a weird sour taste to it. I took home bagels with no cream cheese and put my own on it and it was great. I wish they would go back to the way they used to make the cream cheese! read more

Actually I am from Brooklyn New York which is the undisputed king of bagels, pizza & hot dogs. Both my wife and I ate there several times and I have to take issue with several of the people who post negative reviews of this establishment and claim to be ex New Yorkers. The bagels were delicious last time I ordered poppy seed bagel with egg white and bacon my ordered an everything toasted bagel with cream cheese. Both were delicious and as authentic to Brooklyn that you will get in anywhere Florida. I believe there is a inherited inferiority complex with many ex New Yorkers who can not give credit when its due to so many good restaurants demonstrated by the need to post negative and totally inaccurate reviews to sound as if they have a greater knowledge than everyone else about good food. read more

We checked this place out for breakfast around 10 this morning (Saturday) and I was nervous they would be low on bagels but they still had a large selection. It was our first time in here and everyone was very friendly. We had 3 people offer to help us when we walked in and each explained different breakfast sandwiches they offer or something to us in between helping other customers. Went in Saturday for a bagel. Place was busy but greeted right away by an employee. Must be a good place to work because the counter staff is so friendly. Ordered a sesame bagel toasted with vegetable cream cheese. Just the right amount of cheese, bagel nicely toasted, just perfect! With all the good reviews I thought I should try this place. We live in a borough of NYC. We thought maybe they imported the water. However, not the case. I mean, my son said just go to Dunkin Donuts - it's the same quality and cheaper. The bagel was heavy without crunch. Mine was toasted- which was better than my son's not toasted one. This is my new favorite bagel place! The Lox is super fresh and is a very good price! The bagels are fluffy and dense. The salmon cream cheese is amazingly creamy. The chopped liver is really tasty! I had the "Jamaican and Crazy" coffee and it was really good! Cafe Bagel is by far the best bagel place in Sarasota County! I will be traveling down here to get my bagel fix once a month! FINALLY! After months of living here in Venice/Sarasota area I found bagels that compare with those back in the NYC and NJ area. Right amount of crunch on the outside and chewy flavor on the inside. Baked fresh every morning. Open early and close by 2:00 so get there early for the best of many different flavors both fruity and savory. BONUS They do a Taylor ham sandwich sandwich as well as other breakfast items that are reasonably priced. The people who work here are very nice and greet you with a warm smile and kind service (something not always evident in the NY/NJ area). Have an assortment including "Jamaica Me Crazy" seems to be a favorite amongst local coffee lovers. The place is also immaculately clean. Choose your own coffee cup or get it to go. A GREAT FIND! I found reasonably good NJ / NY Boardwalk style pizza (took six months!) and still need to find Chinese food that isn't too far away. Any ideas would be appreciated! Now I will have to get used to 300 days of sunshine and no gray slush and potholes. read more
