The bagels are the best! Everything about the place is fantastic! I just got home from cafe bagel and it wasn't too busy. One girl behind the counter taking orders, filling orders and answering the phone. One tall young man was against the wall yawning. Or helping at all. Two people near the grill talking and nothing is on the grill! There were six people waiting and two of them needed to get to work! You are paying all these people and only one is working! Why didn't one other worker come over and asked can I help who's next in between yawns! Your product is excellent but your employees are horrible! Came here with my daughter since we are visiting Venice, large selection of bagels and toppings and they also offer all the typical breakfast offerings. We had the Taylor ham egg and cheese on a plain bagel and the Lox with all the toppings on a Rye bagel. aAll very good and great attentive service. There's indoor and outdoor sitting. definately highly recommended. Took home a large container of green olive cream cheese to try since I have never come across anything like it. read more

NOT the patrons/customers. I am hoping I see or hear a reason to give these guys a second chance? I also want my fellow Yelpers to NOT run into the same expectations/failure that I encountered. Honestly one of the best bagel breakfast sandwiches I've had in the US. I love bagel sandwiches but often feel they fall so short even though they are simple. I have always gotten to go from here and within about 30 mins of closing since normally I got shark tooth the hunting in the am and then stop here on my way home. While they only let you choose between plain or everything the bagels are very good in terms of texture and fluffiness. They are generous with ingredients in the sandwiches and they are cooked to perfection in my opinion. Always a go to stop for me and makes my trip worth while in Venice. read more

I liked visiting this cute little bagel shop. I stopped by one late morning on a day I was in the area to get some bagels for takeout. While they had a rye bagel I was seeking, the shop was out of pumpernickel bagels, a testament to their popularity. If you want primo bagel selection I suggest going earlier in the morning and/or ordering ahead for the best selection. Right off 41/Tamiami this shop is conveniently located. Stopped in this morning on the way to work for a to go order (sorry no pictures) in a time crunch. I've been here before but they have recently reorganized the dining area and shower to have new staff. Ordered a kielbasa and egg on an everything bagel. They had the order done in 5 minutes and it was perfectly done. They have extremely chewy bagels and very well seasoned for the everything variety. First time visiting this bagel store. Young girl behind the counter was friendly but may have been learning the register. Ordered 2 cinnamon bagels and 2 coffee rolls. When my wife ate her coffee roll she said it had no taste except grease. I had the cinnamon bagel which was extremely blah and tasteless. I usually never give reviews but it was a waste of time visiting this establishment. I like Dunkin bagels and coffee rolls much better, but that is my opinion. read more

Boiling the bagels before baking is the technique responsible for creating a glossy outside while keeping the inside soft. With that in mind, Café bagel does them right. Offering more than a dozen different bagel flavors, I am still a huge fan of their "plain" bagel. Importantly, if you're trying to get a specific flavor, you may have to pre-order them. You can call on the phone and they will save some for you to pick up when you arrive. Café Bagel is conveniently located right on the Tamiami Trail and offers plenty of free offstreet parking. Dropped by for bagels on a Saturday around 10:30 am, and I missed out. Most of the bagels were picked over. I ended up getting an odd and end just not what I exactly wanted. Here's a tip, you can call earlier in the day and reserve your bagels. I will definitely do this next time. I just love their spinach bagel. It's jammed pack with spinach and it's so tasty! It's their bagels that keep me coming back, but the staff isn't the friendliest. They don't make you feel good to be there. Not sure why it's the case. My experience wasn't the best. I typically love visiting this bagel shop but was disappointed. The girl took our order but brought me the wrong sandwich. When Mandi brought the right sandwich she literally dropped it on the table and said "here" and walked away. I couldn't believe her attitude. I over heard she didn't give another customer his to go bagels and she forgot to give food to someone who picked up an order. I think she might require more training or maybe she had an off day. We moved to Venice last year and have found a gem! For our first time there, we had a garlic bagel with Taylor ham, egg and cheese. Amazing! It was so good that we came back the next day for more. Unfortunately we chose Mother's Day without knowing that everyone in town did as well lol. Although they were out of the bagels we wanted, what we ended up with was still amazing. Blueberry bagel and honey walnut cream cheese was a great combo. Plain bagel with sausage egg and cheese went great with jalapeño cream cheese. Great little place with plenty of seats to eat in and have a breakfast w/eggs if you want. They also have some Boars head deli sandwiches. Today I had a everything w/ lox spread for $4.27 including the tax. The lox spread was good but very light on the lox. The everything bagel was just to tough for my liking taste was good but my jaw had a workout on this thing. Bagels are fresh so I did not have it toasted. I will definitely go back and try a different bagel next time to see if that is tough also. Prices overall are reasonable. read more

Good local place I decided to stop in this morning for breakfast. Having checked out the menu online before I arrived, I was all set to order when I walked in. I felt a little ignored standing there waiting to order without anyone acknowledging my presence for what seemed too long, but when someone was available it was all smiles and my visit was back on track. I went all out with their Breakfast Platter with Ham. They have self serve coffee and only a few minutes after I got my coffee and settled down at a table, my breakfast was brought over. It looked great. The eggs were cooked properly, the thin slices of ham nicely fanned out on the plate. It was a good amount of potatoes, they could have used some seasoning or prepared with some other ingredients like onions. The platter also came with a bagel, I selected their Cinnamon Raisin. The steamed bagel was soft, toasted, and easy to eat. It was buttered, which was fine, but I had ordered it with the honey walnut spread. It is an order at the counter type of place. Once I had my food no one checked back with me or said goodbye when I left. That's ok, better to follow up but not necessary. As far as the restaurant itself, it is very nice. This is not a hole in the wall bagel place. They have a dining area with several tables, TVs, and a few more tables outside for those who like to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Which I had as a sandwich with a toasted everything-mini bagel, garlic herb cream cheese, lox, red onion, and tomato. My friend also ordered a jalapeño bagel with scrambled eggs and home fries. We ordered it all to-go. To start off -the service was friendly, and once our food was done - one of the employees brought it to us! Even though we had a number and they could've just called that, that was nice of them. Onto the food - my bagel was delicious, the garlic herb cream cheese paired extremely well with the Smokey flavour of the salmon, I wasn't a fan of the red onion and tomato so I took those off, but after taking those off, that was probably the best bagel I've ever had. On the contrary, my friends jalapeño bagel tastes just like a plain bagel, to the extent they even asked if they received the wrong one, the scrambled eggs and home fries were good, not much more to say. Missing Northeast Bagels since I move down here in 2013, this place was a godsend. Bacon egg and cheese on a toasted or non toasted bagel with spk? Thank you sir may I have another!! My neighbor told me about this place and took us there after a bike ride through Legacy Trail to give us our replenishment. I got him an amazing bagel for the sandwich that made me not so homesick anymore. That was back in 2015, and since then I've had their Bagel sandwiches several times and have never once been disappointed. If it wasn't so far away from me I would definitely make a trip there once a month to pick up some bagels for weekend breakfast. Actually now that I put words to it, I just went make it a monthly trip 20 miles each way to pick up some bagels for my family. If this locations too far south for you, the same owners also own and run Brooklyn Bagel up in Sarasota, which might be a little bit closer for those in the northern part of Sarasota County. My husband has had their bagels quite a few times and so they are just as good as Cafe Bagels. So I'd like to take this moment to thank the owners of both establishments for bringing the Northeast taste to Southwest Florida and making this New Jersey girl a little less homesick every time she takes a bite into one of their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches!!! read more
