Dirty, slow, awful bagels. This place is far from a real bagel store... let alone a NY Bagel like they promote.

Bagel was rock hard and the service wasn't very good. I seemed more like a pain then a customer.

She made it clear she was from NY and that their bagels "suck" and "aren't real NY bagels." Well, Susan, you're in Florida, not NY.

Starting off with the ambience, the place is SUPER cute, decorated with a color theme I call "sherbet whimsy" with a smattering of smiling emojis. Our party of 6 was warmly greeted at the counter and immediately seated together. We started off with their delicious coffee, some hot & some cold...all excellent! The menu is fairly extensive for a breakfast joint, so the server gave us some good recommendations & said everything here is house made. Wow! OK... so we all got different menu items, and despite being warned about the HUGE portions...we could not have fathomed how large they are, but the prices do reflect how much food you're going to get! The breakfast burrito could easily feed four people. Our lone young male in the group - who might have a tapeworm based upon his ability to devour gigantic amounts of food - did his best, but could only consume about 2/3 of it. He said it was amazing, especially when paired with their delicious house made hot sauce. Two of us got two different bennie breakfasts, and raved about the hollandaise, the stretched "biscuits" & the fried chicken. Despite being smallish young ladies, they put a good dent in their meals. One of us got the outstanding corned beef hash, and thankfully generously shared with yours truly!! She could not eat even half of her meal, so I was glad to help out! :) The corned beef hash is not your standard ground-up version from a can. It is house made, with larger bits of potato, corned beef, onions & peppers. They get a perfect scald on it & serve it up with eggs & thick sliced perfectly toasted/buttered toast. My picky husband got the chorizo scramble with a side of fruit & really enjoyed it. I got the fantastic avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was perfect... the thick slices of toasted wheat bread adorned with melted cheese then topped with very fresh & perfectly ripe avocado slices. I didn't prefer their scrambled eggs & should have gotten them fried instead, but it was still perfectly good, especially when dipped in their hot sauce. Thankfully my husband shared some of his fresh fruit, which was ripe & good. I dipped the pineapple into that hot sauce, which was delicious together. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The clientele were a menagerie from various demographics...retirees, blue collar workers, bikers, vacationers; everyone was pleasant & seemed to be enjoying their meals. This was one of the better meals we had during our trip, and definitely the best breakfast by far. It's so close to the airport, too. I'm so glad we got up early enough to be able to fit in a stop here before catching our flight home.

Our waitress, Rhonda was just as friendly and attentive, and honestly, I can't say enough about how welcoming everyone was. My mother and I both felt comfortable and taken care of, which really made the experience enjoyable. We both ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of breakfast potatoes. The biscuits and gravy were very good, and I especially liked that they toast the biscuit before putting the gravy on top. The sausage gravy had nice-sized chunks of sausage rather than tiny crumbles that you can barely tell are sausage, which I really enjoyed. My only complaint was that the gravy was a little too peppery for my taste and I love pepper. The breakfast potatoes were delicious, although they were a little too salty for me. The price of the biscuits and gravy was reasonable and pretty much what I expected, but some of the other menu items seemed a little on the expensive side for a basic breakfast restaurant. The restaurant itself is definitely a basic, no-frills kind of place, and there are a few things that could use some attention. The bathroom, in particular, needs a good deep cleaning and probably a fresh coat of paint. The toilet was clean, but the walls and overall bathroom area looked like they needed some serious scrubbing and TLC. That said, I would definitely go back. The food was good, the service was wonderful, and the welcoming atmosphere really stood out to me. It's also convenient to where my mother lives, which is a big plus. Sometimes a friendly staff and a place that makes you feel welcome go a long way, and Family Grill definitely did that for us.

Yesterday, we had the ultimate pleasure of dining and having our food prepared by Chef Max of BROTHERS' FISH HOUSE. Immediately, we received the warmest welcome from Andrea, who we love, and Jess (it was Jess first day). One would not know it, very professional and courteous. I had a special request, for Paella from my husband for Dinner. Paella takes time to prepare and needs to be preordered in advance. As I walk in I placed the order with the Chef. Our ladies came in with great anticipation, many had dine there with us or with their families. Each lady came in with bright smiles, as well greetings for those they know, have met at a previous lunch or met a brand new comer who was thrill to join us. (Mary Ellen) We started with our beverages and appetizers of lobster bisque or seafood soup, salads, fried mushrooms, and array of other delicacies. One of our lady's is celebrating her 80th Birthday, the next day, Nov 13. Dora we raised our glasses, cheered with well wishes and sang Dora, Happy Birthday. Main meals were fish & chips (fish were huge pieces), haddock grilled, blacked or fried with side choices. Delicious crab and seafood cakes, claims, a dish of linguine pasta with clams, muscles, calamari, scallops, and more! Fried Shrimp, Poor Boy Sandwich. Combo dishes of what ever their choice were coconut shrimp & basa your fingers, scallops & filet, etc. Our ladies kept the conversation up during our entire time at Brothers' and there was great rapport, laughs and a happiness of gathering together. As we were finishing our entrees, we invited Chef Max to join us. The ladies, personally wanted to show their gratitude for a wonderful dishes and their dining experience. If you are new to Charlotte Cty., and haven't been to Brothers' you are definitely missing fresh fish & seafood. Take. Look at these delicious dishes and ladies ‼

"May I see the wine list, please?" I asked. They don't have one. But they DO have wine, a nice selection from Italy. In describing what I like -- cab or malbec, around $30 -- the owner/server/host, suggested an excellent blend. $27. We started with antipasto. Look at my photo. Does that look good, or what?! Both T and I ordered piccata -- he veal, me chicken. Served over homemade fettuccini, the entrees were light, lemony and delicious. Dessert? Why yes. I asked the owner/server/host what the most popular dessert is. Limoncello cake. Not made in house, but boy, was it good! (I made sure T didn't have more than his fair share.) Not to be a snob, but NYC boasts the most delicious Italian restaurants. We know our food! And son-of-a-gun, three of the five tables tonight were filled with New Yorkers. Everyone other than us had been to Piccolo before. (And yes, I do talk to people I don't know!) If you don't want to wait weeks to get in to Carmello's, give Piccolo a try. I think you'll be pleased.
