I ordered the egg, bacon and cheese bagel toasted. It was served just as I ordered it a very good. The coffee is excellent. Service was very good and my food was brought out very quickly hot wrapped very nicely. Large parking lot sometimes you can get a good parking spot. It's in the Winn-Dixie shopping center. read more

Dirty, slow, awful bagels. This place is far from a real bagel store... let alone a NY Bagel like they promote.

My husband and I are regulars here and always enjoy our visits. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are top-notch, and the staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. They may be young, but they're always professional, polite, and doing a great job. Now, about Susan's dramatic one-star review -- we were actually there at the same time as she and her husband. They ate their entire meal without a word of complaint, left the store, then Susan stormed back in a few minutes later clearly on the hunt for something to be mad about. Instead of speaking with a manager, she chose to berate the young staff, ranting about things like pricing -- things these girls have no control over. Susan was incredibly aggressive, pointing her fingers and getting up in the young staff's faces across the counter. She made it clear she was from NY and that their bagels "suck" and "aren't real NY bagels." Well, Susan, you're in Florida, not NY. If you don't like it here, maybe head back to NY because you're giving New Yorkers a bad name -- especially when you're berating children. Anyway, take her review with a massive grain of salt -- or better yet, ignore it and enjoy a great breakfast from people who actually care. read more

Overall, the food was good. The prices were decent for the quality and size of the sandwiches. All of the staff and the vast majority of the patrons were maskless when I came in during the Delta wave of COVID. Strange coming from a major city where people are taking precautions to protect one another. They had some chips to go as well as some bottles of soda and water. It's a par-baked bagel which means they do not make them on the premises. They get them partially baked/frozen and then bake them in a convection oven. Not exactly a real bagel if you know how real bagels are truly made. Their claim to using NY water is probably based on the fact that the par-baking process is done up in New Jersey, then frozen and shipped. What's with the posted dig on the bagel place south of you? You don't like microwave eggs? I don't understand the purpose behind this back handed slap to another business that is 20 miles south of you. You think you share the same customer base? read more

Finally, after searching for a place that sells salt bagels for what feels like an eternity, Empire Bagels delivers. Not only are the bagels and sandwiches delicious, but the staff is friendly and fast. I can't think of any reason why anyone would go elsewhere for bagels. read more

Sorry but this bagel shop doesn't work for me. Their bagels are smaller then other shops I've bought at up in the northeast. They are not as chewy and are over baked. I do like the fact that they sell a bakers dozen but that just means you get more of a sub-par product. I must say that a major coffee shop sells a better bagel . Maybe having more bagel shops in the area would help them step up their game. Yes there is a line when the shop opens in the morning but that's it. My shops I go to up north have lines of 10 to 15 all morning long. Just sayin! read more

I happen to really like the bagels here. But, getting the bagels at noon on a Saturday is the trick, because, they didn't have but a very very small number of bagels to purchase. I was told they stop baking at 11, even though they are still open for 2 more hours. The owners need to please rethink this decision, people can't purchase what isn't there. You lost a good sale from me because of this bad business decision. I purchase frequently, and never saw this before. read more

Ordered the Carnegie sandwich with Pastrami, Swiss, cole slaw, and Thousand Island on a sesame seed bagel. Just got a craving to bagels and wanted a proper bagel from a bagel shop. Came here and got 1/2 dozen bagels and a single bagel to eat now. The bagels were good when not toasted. They are chewy bagels which I prefer. service was good and ambiance was set up as more take out or quick eat rather. Overall Empire is solid and I will be back! read more

The lady taking our order was the rudest person i've ever met. We were more of a inconvenience than a customer. Make sure if you order eggs you know how you want them otherwise you will be screamed at. We assumed our bagels would be toasted but they were not so make sure you clarify when you order. Nothing like NY bagels. If I did not know better I think they were frozen bagels. I'd recommend buying Thomas English Muffin bagels over ones from this store. The cream cheese was not any better. read more

Bagel was rock hard and the service wasn't very good. I seemed more like a pain then a customer.

Went for the first time today. A customer came in to return two bagels that were not what he had ordered to go. The cashier took the bagels then delivered them to the correct couple who ordered them in the restaurant!!!!!! Thankfully the couple in the restaurant saw the transaction of their bagels and declined them noting that they had left the premises and requested new bagels! read more

In the past I would visit The Bagel Factory when I had an appointment at the Va... Initially, I was happy to see Empire Bagels open the shop in Punta Gorda. However, there is no comparison with The Bagel Factory - When I go in for a simple bagel with cream cheese, it seems to take forever. The product is usually good (when they don't spread the cream cheese thinly like it were butter), but the time it takes from the time you place your order to when it is finally ready to go... not good! read more
