2 orders of beignets (3 per order for $4.99)

Made me fall in looove with beignetssss!! (first time to nola) Very cute location close to our hotel. The line was a smidge long but moved QUICK. Indoor and outdoor seating with awesome live music (jazz). Bathrooms were clean, lots of tables also clean, just a very fun spot for something sweet.

We stayed at the Sheraton and upon checking in, noticed the long line for this café that was extending out onto the sidewalk, so we decided to give them a try the next morning for beignets and coffee. We got there around 8AM and the band was setting up and while there, they started playing and they sounded great. The line had about 8 people in front of us and it took about 15 mins to get to place the order, then after sitting down, it took about 15 mins for the beignets to come out. The coffee was decent, not sure if it's chicory. The beignets were really good! They were a little dense, but flavorful and I liked the texture too. Definitely would return, but wouldn't wait in a really long line for them.

An order of 3 beignets ($4.99)

Let me clarify this... the beignets at Cafe Beignet were delicious! They were made really fresh and the portions were really big. It was $4.99 for a regular order of 3 & over $6 for the salted caramel version. They were all really good. Their frozen mocha cappuccino was just okay, not the best ($6.49). The inside was also very spacious and old school which I also liked. The only problem was the customer service. The lady who got our order was very rude and acted like she didn't care to even be there. If it wasn't for how good the beignets were and the ambiance, I would've rated Cafe Beignet lower. Overall, beignets were worth it but the front service was not good at all.

I give this place a 4 star mainly because although its not my fave beignet, they got ambiance right and the other food offerings are solid. There are several locations and this would be my 2nd fave as its on canal (closer to luxury hotels i prefer to stay) and it has a stage. Both mornings I came there was live music playing (like my fav in bourbon st). I got beignets and crawfish n grits the 1st morning and I loved the crawfish and grits so much i went back before checking out of my hotel and ordered them again. Highly recommend!

Delicious! Staff/People are super friendly. Clean and live music too. Beignets were fab/ we got the original. I loved them- soft, dense and a bit krispy. Drinks were yummy! Beautiful day and the doors were wide open. Great location on the corner. They had a handicapped lift to avert the steps to the bathroom. Definitely a stop to make!

Long lines, but well worth it! Great experience, good cafe au lait, good beignets and we enjoyed the live band!

Delicious beignets! My hubby likes them better than Cafe du Monde! Coffee was good but not my favorite. Love music was a nice touch!

There was a long line when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Pro tip you can order at the bar everything except for coffee. We did that since we just wanted beignets and we got an order pretty quickly. They were super big and powdery. There are a ton of locations around the city and super easy to access. There was also a band when we visited, which was great.

Busy busy and understandable- it's St Patrick's Day!! - the beignets were hot and the cappuccino was good quality.

First rule of thumb when visiting New Orleans. Go get yourself a beignet. We actually stopped by here twice during our trip and always towards the end of the night while walking back to our hotel. The first night I got the regular beignets and then the last night there I tried to get their king cake beignets but unfortunately, they were out. Very disappointed. It's a very large restaurant with plenty of seating. I'm pretty sure they have other things they sell besides beignets and coffee but honestly, I wasn't paying attention. On our second time there they were closing up and as we were finishing our beignets, a tiny mouse runs across the room and that kind of freaked us out. I get it. This is a large building with other buildings attached in this downtown area. I guess it happens. I just really hope none of the feces ends up in any of the food or touching anything besides that random incident. But once you have one mouse, they're guaranteed to be more. Gross! We didn't say anything to anybody, but we were a little freaked out and ended up just leaving with are to go bag of beignets.

FRESH HANDMADE BEIGNETS & HOT CHOCOLATE

This is a convenient location for folks staying at the Sheraton & the live jazz is quite lovely and varied from night to night, which is nice; but beyond that I cannot say anything else positive. The "homemade beignets" just tasted like fried dough--standard fair food--and not at all like the typical flavor of beignets I've sampled at other nearby locations. I ordered a hot chocolate and watched the barista squirt a ton of chocolate sauce into a cup of hot water and add cold milk on top: it was watery and had 0 flavor.

We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.

However, I know wait times can be out the door so plan accordingly. We were dropped off by Uber, but in terms of parking, it's mainly street parking. Overall, the shop is pretty small. They have a handful of tables outside and more seating inside but it's not huge -- hence the longer lines. It's also quite eclectic with serving on plastic McDonald's plates and the music that was playing. We ordered: The ham sandwich, wedge salad, and a delicious pickle cocktail The ham sandwich had excellent flavor! I wish it had a but more ham on it, but overall the flavor was 10/10! The wedge salad had too much salad dressing. I LOVE blue cheese and blue cheese salad dressing but the lettuce to dressing ratio was off. Could have used less as I felt so much went to waste. The thick cut bacon on the salad was the exact salty touch it needed and the fresh dill was such a fresh touch. The pickle cocktail was delicious! I wish I would have ordered another one! It was slightly sweet, but also salty... SO good! Overall, I would highly recommend Turkey and the Wolf and totally stop by again if I were visiting New Orleans in the future.

The Poboy here is to die for!…read more Honestly I was a bit intimidated walking through here alone, going past a rowdy crowd of mainly older white Gen X men to end up in this hole of a wall to order through an even smaller hole in the wall service booth. The ordering experience was a bit gruff and rough around the edges, but from then on, everything went right. First, you can hang out in the bar area at Erin Rose (I swear the crowd was friendlier than they looked) and eat there if there's space. I highly recommend their Paradise Peach, which seems to be from a local brewery. The bright, peach flavor of the lager does well to wash down the sandwich in the summer heat. I went with an order of the Braised Beef Debris Poboy and this is hands down not just the best Poboy I've ever had in my life, but the best beef or steak any sandwich I've ever had in my life! I wolfed it down so quickly and have to say the pickled green bean and banana peppers with that spike of horseradish sauce really sent this Poboy soaring! The braised beef was absolutely perfect and tender, amazingly so! I can get a bit picky about beef because I hate it when it's tough or gristly or has too much fatty parts that won't melt down, but I didn't have a problem with any of that. I'm no butcher, but seemed like they used a good part of the beef of what's already a fairly quality cow (Louisiana Wagyu Beef I recall reading) or maybe it was the whole braising process, but I wish I could have this for days! I'm going to be sad going back to Houston and not being able to eat this, but hopefully it'll still be around and just as amazing next time I'm back in town.
