Great experience at Cafe Beignet Sheraton. There was live music and the customer service was superb. Beignets were nice and hot!

Open daily from 7am to 12am, this location is conveniently located on Canal St and connected to the Sheraton. Perfect for an early morning coffee and beignets or a late night drink and treat. Be prepared for a line, especially in the morning, but nothing compared to Cafe Du Monde or Loretta's. If you're in a hurry, there's a smaller location just down the block that's usually much quicker. Great atmosphere! They have live music and singers performing throughout the day and every night, plus plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was a great late night hangout spot without having to deal with the craziness of Bourbon St. The beignets themselves weren't my favorite of all the popular spots. They were a little denser, almost donut like, and the powdered sugar seemed lighter than others I've had elsewhere. That said, 3 large beignets for $4.99 is a great value. We were in town for a girls basketball tournament and all the girls loved them because of the size and price. They also offer salted caramel and chocolate drizzle options. We also tried the cookies, which were fine, and the frozen mocha cappuccino, but I preferred the frozen cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde. I wouldn't go out of my way for the beignets, but if you're staying at the Sheraton, it's definitely a convenient spot with late night entertainment and lots of goodies to bring home as souvenirs or gifts for family and friends. read more

This Cafe Beignet is located on the corner, attached to the Sheraton, and huge. There are so many seats outdoors and inside. Many small round tables with white metal chairs inside on a black and white checkered floor. I noticed a lamppost near my table. They're going for the interior looking like the exterior. There's a full bar near the center of the restaurant with bar stools. And a condiment area near the kitchen door. I came for breakfast. I ordered the Jambalaya Omelette ($12.49) and a small Cafe Au Lait ($4.54). The omelette comes with a side of grits and garlic bread. The menu is posted on the wall, behind the counter. Of course they sell freshly baked Beignets ($4.99); they come in threes, so I recommend sharing an order. It's too much for one person. They also sell other bakery items behind the counter. They all looked delicious. Staff are friendly and efficient. You place your order and pay at the counter, they give you a number to place on your table, and staff deliver your food to your table. There was a three piece jazz band playing during breakfast. Because of the acoustics, I decided to sit at a table furthest from the stage. The music was loud. One of the musicians went around the tables with their metal tip bucket. I tried their Beignets in the afternoon, on a different day, along with an Iced Cafe Au Lait ($4.94). There are so many Cafe Beignet locations in New Orleans, so I figured it had to be good and decided to give it a try. After trying Loretta's and Café du Monde, I was a little underwhelmed here. The beignets just felt a bit lacking in flavor, and they didn't really have much powdered sugar, which was kind of disappointing. Honestly, they tasted more like a donut than what I expected from a beignet. One thing I will say is the beignets were huge compared to the other places we tried. I did really like that this location stays open late, and the live jazz music at night was a nice touch. Indoor and outdoor seating with awesome live music (jazz). Bathrooms were clean, lots of tables also clean, just a very fun spot for something sweet. read more

We stayed at the Sheraton and upon checking in, noticed the long line for this café that was extending out onto the sidewalk, so we decided to give them a try the next morning for beignets and coffee. We got there around 8AM and the band was setting up and while there, they started playing and they sounded great. The line had about 8 people in front of us and it took about 15 mins to get to place the order, then after sitting down, it took about 15 mins for the beignets to come out. The coffee was decent, not sure if it's chicory. The beignets were really good! They were a little dense, but flavorful and I liked the texture too. Definitely would return, but wouldn't wait in a really long line for them. read more

Let me clarify this... the beignets at Cafe Beignet were delicious! They were made really fresh and the portions were really big. It was $4.99 for a regular order of 3 & over $6 for the salted caramel version. They were all really good. Their frozen mocha cappuccino was just okay, not the best ($6.49). The inside was also very spacious and old school which I also liked. The only problem was the customer service. The lady who got our order was very rude and acted like she didn't care to even be there. If it wasn't for how good the beignets were and the ambiance, I would've rated Cafe Beignet lower. Overall, beignets were worth it but the front service was not good at all. read more

I give this place a 4 star mainly because although its not my fave beignet, they got ambiance right and the other food offerings are solid. There are several locations and this would be my 2nd fave as its on canal (closer to luxury hotels i prefer to stay) and it has a stage. Both mornings I came there was live music playing (like my fav in bourbon st). I got beignets and crawfish n grits the 1st morning and I loved the crawfish and grits so much i went back before checking out of my hotel and ordered them again. Highly recommend! read more

Delicious! Staff/People are super friendly. Clean and live music too. Beignets were fab/ we got the original. I loved them- soft, dense and a bit krispy. Drinks were yummy! Beautiful day and the doors were wide open. Great location on the corner. They had a handicapped lift to avert the steps to the bathroom. Definitely a stop to make! read more

There was a long line when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Pro tip you can order at the bar everything except for coffee. We did that since we just wanted beignets and we got an order pretty quickly. They were super big and powdery. There are a ton of locations around the city and super easy to access. There was also a band when we visited, which was great. read more

This was the worst meal of our New Orleans trip. I ordered the fish platter and got severe diarrhea. The shrimp po'boy was also disgusting, featuring just a few small, dried-up pieces of shrimp on completely stale bread. We were highly disappointed that our vacation started on such a terrible note. This location of Cafe Beignet is big, well spaced out and has tons of seating ( even though the tables are mainly for 4, if you want to accommodate more then four you need to sit at different tables). The order process is clear and you pay in advance. Beignet are big and airy (different from Cafe du Monde) and also have breakfast/lunch and other sweets. There is live music and tables and floors are clean. Staff is nice and kind. read more

First rule of thumb when visiting New Orleans. Go get yourself a beignet. We actually stopped by here twice during our trip and always towards the end of the night while walking back to our hotel. The first night I got the regular beignets and then the last night there I tried to get their king cake beignets but unfortunately, they were out. Very disappointed. It's a very large restaurant with plenty of seating. I'm pretty sure they have other things they sell besides beignets and coffee but honestly, I wasn't paying attention. On our second time there they were closing up and as we were finishing our beignets, a tiny mouse runs across the room and that kind of freaked us out. I get it. This is a large building with other buildings attached in this downtown area. I guess it happens. I just really hope none of the feces ends up in any of the food or touching anything besides that random incident. But once you have one mouse, they're guaranteed to be more. Gross! We didn't say anything to anybody, but we were a little freaked out and ended up just leaving with are to go bag of beignets. read more

This is a convenient location for folks staying at the Sheraton & the live jazz is quite lovely and varied from night to night, which is nice; but beyond that I cannot say anything else positive. The "homemade beignets" just tasted like fried dough--standard fair food--and not at all like the typical flavor of beignets I've sampled at other nearby locations. I ordered a hot chocolate and watched the barista squirt a ton of chocolate sauce into a cup of hot water and add cold milk on top: it was watery and had 0 flavor. read more

Very clean and bright cafe attached conveniently to the Sheraton. The cashier was super friendly. I ordered the etouffee & it was decent. The description said it was creamy, but it was a tomato-based sauce (which I was not expecting). I prefer Cajun etouffee to Creole, but I was starving. I will say if you are tipsy or hungover, do NOT focus on the floor. The tiles are very small and my companion was getting hella ill looking at it. If I stayed at the Sheraton again I'd go back to Cafe Beignet for sure. read more
