Always makes my day to start off with these awesome girls. I visit the location on Newport because it is right by my house. The girls know my usual drink and have it ready before I even pull up to order! I am not a morning person so this really starts my day off right. When my boyfriend gets my drink on the weekend, he is greeted in the same manner, they make it very easy for him. The owner, Frank is hands on and never hesitates to jump in and help out when the girls get too busy. He leads by example and employs people with the same work ethic. We went here a few times since it was close to our AirBNB - got a mocha with oat milk and my husband got a regular latte. We are both coffee snobs and their coffee didn't disappoint. This is a really good place. I always get the Salmon Everything Bagel. I usually drive through early in the morning before work. Sometimes my wife and I drive through on the weekends-if you do expect a long line. I'm amazed how many people the staff can take care off. They do a really good job. I would give them 5 stars except for one thing: If you have to wait they ask you to park at a certain spot on the way out. There is a dining table very close to it-closer than 6 foot. Last time we went I noticed 2 men just sitting there the whole time we were waiting not eating and not wearing masks. Both of them were sitting as close to the cars as they could. When we drove up and stopped I had to roll up the window. I could tell they were playing games-one guy got up and stood even closer to our car. When the young lady came up to hand us our food both of the men turned towards our car window and tried to get even closer. One guy was as close as 2 ft. I would recommend the cafe move that table away from where the cars stop. read more

Sweet. Another drive-thru coffee spot to add to my list. I gave them the mexi-mocha test and they passed. They use real Mexican chocolate and it was delicious. A 32 oz. acai bowl for about $8 is pretty unheard of!! I was lucky that this place is across the street from my friends apartment. We walked up and the two girls working were super nice. I added peanut butter ($1 extra) and opted for the soy milk over the apple juice to reduce the amount of sugar in my bowl. It was perfect! I can definitely eat a lot and I couldn't even finish it! On top of that, they serve simply the best cup of coffee in Ocean Beach. The secret is in the high-quality Calabria locally, freshly roasted beans. None of the other local establishments, with the exception of the also very good Lazy Hummingbird, compares. We went there for herbal tea on a Saturday night. No one in the area was open past 6:00 pm except for them. I asked her for a list of teas and she was so friendly and gave me a wonderful long list. From lemon ginger to white peach. They had it. We paid and drove away. When I took a first sip, I was not expecting to taste something so fresh. The tea tasted like she put fresh lemon and ginger in it. The price was also very reasonable, way less than many other places I've been. I'll definitely be going back there again for tea. read more

Not bad. The lattes we got were pretty good (though my husband said he prefers Pirate's Cove still) and came in cups with cute sleeves. The onion bagel w/ cream cheese we split wasn't bad (though I did not expect them to put the cream cheese ON it, and it had too much... what's up w/ that? Most places I've been to let you spread your own...) The reason this place gets three stars is because the young girls working there were pretty rude this morning. Just acted really put off every time we'd ask for something & were fairly short with us. The two of them were enjoying a convo w/ one another, and ignoring us mostly. I thought it was completely unprofessional, and totally not what I expected due to what I've read in the reviews on here (everyone says the girls who work here are "omg so nice!") Drive through coffee that opens at 5:30am and boasts a great selection of pastries, plus acai bowl? I'm sold. I am a block away, and I always love the little stroll there to get my morning bites & coffee. They're also my savior Wed & Fri mornings (due to OB's notorious street sweeping) to appease my disgruntled mornings of trying to avoid a ticket. The staff is always exceptionally friendly even at such ungodly hours, and the fare fresh and yummy. Their acai bowls are HUGE and topped with a myriad of fruits. I love how they also put granola at the bottom, so every bite is loaded with some sort of topping. It seems their acai base is apple juice, but it's still silky and delicious. It is definitely one of the better acai bowls in OB, and I love to just take my time and enjoy it in the sunshine. read more

I love that this area has a ton of drive through coffee shops. I remember this from living up in Washington state. Café Bella is one of the shops open later than most. I love this because, their food works beyond sunset. The ladies working there are fast and friendly. They don't focus on their gossip more than their customers. I had no problem giving them a tip. I ordered their acai bowl after a craving. Although it's not on their menu, they have 2 sizes of their bowl: small and large with a $1.75 difference. Their small is really sizable. I can't even imagine what a large looks like! I love that they also don't skimp on the toppings. You get all the fixings on the small, not just banana and granola like a lot of other places. It's cool that Val and her crew know most of their customers by name, always take a minute to say hi, and if there's a long line they'll usually see my car way at the back, pour my usual, and bring it right on over - I just drink plain black coffee and lots of it, so it's cool I don't have to wait for all you people who order fuzzy fluffy drinks that take five minutes to make and only vaguely remind you of coffee. read more

Went here Saturday morning after a long Friday night out. The 32oz Acaii bowl was only $7 and change and that's usually the price for a small bowl at other locations. I also got a vanilla chai latte for a few dollars. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the service was phenomenal! My daughter plays soccer and loves the açaí bowls here. However, her soccer doesn't end til 7.30, so I looked up when they closed to make sure I arrived in time to get her one. Yelp states they're open until 7. Perfect. I pack a cooler to store it in and head down at 6.45 to get her one. I arrive at 6.50 and a car is in front of me, so I wait. The girl comes up to be at 6.54 and asks what I'd like. I tell her an açaí bowl. She says since they are closing in 5 minutes she can only serve coffee drinks...although disappointed, I say ok, and ask when I should arrive next time to make sure I can get one. She says 10 minutes before closing. I let her know I did arrive 10 minutes before closing, but was waiting for her to help me. She says sorry, but no. That's ridiculous. The ladies are always super nice and there is one in particular, I don't know her name but she has "OM" tattooed on the back of her left arm.
