Phenomenal spot. Seating indoors and outdoors, really nice staff. However, the reason we came to try this spot was for the breakfast sandwich! I got the one that had artichoke in it and it was delicious. The roll was so flaky and soft, the eggs were cooked well, the aioli was delicious. So good, definitely a great breakfast experience for a weekend morning

Came in randomly when stopping at Blick. The spot is cute but check the hours before you stop in. We came out to PL/Blick over the weekend and the location closed at 2pm. We were so sad to miss the goods. The food is fresh and delicious. The coffee was so unique. On top of it the team was helpful and understanding with the kiddos running around. Overall we'll be back but hopefully during business hours.

Came here after a local run at nearby Liberty Station. The restaurants at Liberty Station were super crowded so Yelp steered us to this place with great reviews. The menu is great with a lot of options, but I would note firstly that this isn't really a sit-down restaurant with no servers (order at the counter and wait for your food to be called). The location is tucked away behind a larger business and feels most like a coffee shop with a lot of takeaway orders however there is a small amount of inside seating and some outside seating. Now to the food - they have açaí/keto/yogurt bowls as well as toasts, leige waffles,, egg sandwiches and breakfast burritos. They also have fancy coffees and espressos. All and all a good food experience and friendly staff.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to point Loma lighthouse and we're just looking for a place to grab breakfast and coffee. First off the coffee was so creamy and delicious. I ordered the yogurt bowl and my boyfriend ordered the chipotle turkey sandwich, the chipotle turkey sandwich was on a croissant which had to have been the best thing I've ever eaten in my entire life. We actually tried to come back and get a second sandwich, but they were already closed. We asked for a pup cup, and we got a really cute, nice sized whipped cream cup that has a really high-quality whipped cream even I was taking a lick from the pup cup. Absolutely love this place next time we're visiting San Diego, we will be back.

Cute local coffee shop that wasn't located too far from our hotel. A steady stream of patrons ordering both online and in person. We got some coffees and breakfast items. The good the breakfast burrito decent filling, nice addition with the cream cheese, the bad the Bravocado the idea was interesting and adding the bacon was great but the bread itself started to unravel so it makes for a messy situation. The best was the liege fruit waffle so satisfying, I wish we would have had more, I'd go back just got this. I'd take this place over a chain coffee shop any day. Check them out next time you're in the mood for a caffeine fix.

I've been here twice and this is a hidden gem that I wouldn't have found if it weren't for Yelp. It is located next to F45 and situated adjacent to apartment housing I believe. There is a parking lot with spaces so it's easily accesible both times I went. This breakfast cafe is cozy with some indoor and outdoor seating. The sandwiches I tried were scrumptious (love everything from the soft croissant bread to the insides and also their burrito was fantastic with good salsa!), service was good, and the iced coffees are excellent with a good blend of strength and sweetness. When in the area of Point Loma/Sports Arena, I definitely recommend!

Very chill spot. Rather small inside. The coffee was very strong and tasty (caramel macchiato). Good music but overly loud, temperature ok, inside & outside seating. Parking 2 h free in lot.

The southern comfort Burito was delicious like so bussin and good. Def need to try it. Coffee had a really earthy flavor sooooo I think this spot is a 10/10 def check it out .

Small and modern cafe with industrial interior. The service here was amazing but the food left some to be desired. - San Diegan Burrito ($11.99): A bit small with the portions for a burrito of this price but the mild spicy chipotle sauce was a sweet smokey flavor that went nicely with the burrito. It was a delicious burrito but just wished the portions were a bit bigger. (7/10) - French Toast ($7.99): I liked how it was pre-sliced into bite sized pieces with strawberry and blueberry bits sprinkled on top. The toast was the perfect sweetness but the texture wasn't my favorite. The toast had a tender, crumby bite that wasn't very soft or fluffy. (6/10) - Matcha Latte ($5.99) This drink was a good earthy matcha but they didn't sift their matcha and left some clumps. It also left a weird after taste. (6/10)

    Really yummy!! Keto Bowl

I ordered a latte with oat milk and it was great! I also ordered a keto bowl. It had egg, chorizo, cheese, red peppers, avocado, and sour cream... I loved it!! Looks small but with the chorizo and cheese very filling. I will definitely be back.

Quiet spot with chill music, employees are very nice and quick service. Plenty of seating and has outlets at some tables. Loved my burrito! The matcha was good too

Stopped by here while we were running errands. Got their Keto Bowl and their Fancy Toast - The Jam and a flat white. The flat white was okay but the food was very tasty! The portions aren't huge but that's okay because the price mirrors that but everything was great. The chipotle sauce on the keto bowl was wonderful and the jam on the toast was nice and sweet. All in all a good place for a quick bite. Will return to try other drinks. Service was fast. It's a small place with cute little tables outside and one or two inside. There is 15 minute parking directly in front but there's also a shopping center across the way so easy to access.

Keto Bowl was a sloppy overcooked mess
    Cheryl G.

Coffee was bomb, not gonna lie. Skip the food though. I ordered a keto bowl, it sounded really good with the egg and avocado, chorizo, guacamole and chipotle sauce. It took forever for it to come out, and I actually laughed when I opened the container at how sloppy it looked. For $14 are you kidding me? It wouldn't have been so bad if it tasted good, but the egg was cooked so hard it was like a dry pancake. The coffee shop was really cute. A couple seats inside and then a few on an outdoor patio. You can tell that they did put a little effort into making it look cute. The baristas seemed nice enough, but mildly disinterested. Parking in the area was street parking only and difficult. We had to do a couple laps to find a spot. Moral of the story great spot to stop for an awesome coffee if you happen to be right there. Not worth going out of the way for a quick breakfast. And it won't be quick.

The moment you step inside, the bi-level space makes a striking impression with its mid-century accents, exposed brick, and warm, moody lighting. It manages to balance a lively, energetic atmosphere with an effortless chicness that feels tailored for a memorable night out. The happy hour here is an absolute standout, featuring an expansive array of creative food options and crafted drinks. The menu brings an inventive Asian fusion twist to bar bites, offering flavor-forward small plates that pair seamlessly with the beverage program. The drinks deserve equal applause: the craft cocktails are meticulously balanced, and the signature ube-inspired cocktails are as vibrant and distinct as they are delicious. Adding to the venue's overall charm is the live music program. Catching live jazz, soul, and blues sets elevates the entire experience from a simple dinner run into a full sensory event. The music creates a vibrant, soulful backdrop without overpowering table conversation, striking just the right rhythm for intimate catch-ups or energetic group gatherings. Whether you are dropping in for a quick drink, indulging in a multi-dish happy hour spread, or lingering late for the live tunes and exceptional cocktails, Books & Records captures everything that makes CS Hospitality's concepts so special. It was very great hospitality. Our waiter was very helpful and check in on us quite often. The service was Superb. Now the food, we went on a Wednesday which they have Happy Hour all day. We ordered The Record Room Burger which came with Fries. This was very tasty. The fries were excellent. I tried one of my friend's dishes which was the Lamb Meatballs and that was amazing. Sadly, the B&R Mac n Cheese did not do it for me. It was missing seasoning and the flakes tasted stale. The staff did give us salt & pepper to jazz it up which did help. Regardless of the mac n cheese, I really enjoyed this place. The red wine was perfection. Overall it was a great experience and I gotta go back to check out other food items.
