Veggie lovers, consider this your official heads up. The arcade lineup is solid too. Pac Man, Mortal Kombat II, The Simpsons, a classic Star Wars Atari cabinet, plus others. Waiting for food did not feel like waiting. It felt like killing time in the best possible way. One quick warning. The hip hop playlist is not radio edited. I love the Beyoncai açaí bowl that is loaded with honey and peanut butter. This bowl is generous with the amount of strawberries and bananas. The service was ok and only had one persons working. She did a great job being the cashier while making the smoothies and açaí bowls all by herself. The atmosphere is fun with arcade games and plenty of seating. As you see in the photo, it comes in a tall container unmixed...so I wasn't sure how I was supposed to eat it since I got it to-go and was not going home....they also had the normal plastic spoons so not ones that are long to mix up all ingredients. I had never been to the Mad Beet before but I've driven by plenty of times. I'm very biased on where I get my açaí bowls and really didn't know what to expect. The Mad Beet is solid! Good energy when you walk in, everyone is really nice and the items have fun names. I ordered an açaí bowl and really enjoyed it, the Beyoncai bowl! Easily on of my top 3 favorite açaí bowls in town. I stopped by here for a quick mid day lunch. I got the lemonem juice which was fantastic. Tastes very similar to the toxin flush from Nektar but with a kick of heat from the cayenne. I also got the avocado toast with shredded egg. This was pretty good. Made on top of sourdough bread which is always appreciated. Big portions. However, slightly too salty for me. Service was a little slow but they seemed to be doing the best they can. The inside is a little dingy and could benefit from a remodel. This Is the absolute best açai place in San Diego! I always go with the Beyonacai bowl. I love the peanut butter here and the fruit is so overwhelming which is a good thing - I always get the large. I can never finish it but it's delicious. Great to share wonderful taste quality açai you can't beat it no matter what you get here. It's just amazing. I get these smoothies every time I go to San Diego! My advice, skip the food because it's pretty meh, but the smoothies are some of the best smoothies I've ever had. SO fresh and sweet! I always get the one with greens with chocolate and peanut butter protein powder, and my friends always get the acai bowls which are also delicious. The service is so chill here and it's nice to have a conversation with everyone inside. I came in here yesterday morning I was the only person in at the time I ordered. Tell me why I ended up waiting 30 minutes for 1 fucking drink that was just SITTING in a blender. The new guy working there and the younge white girl working with him was extremely rude. Other people came in after me and ordered and got their drinks less than 5 minutes. At first I didn't say anything because I thought maybe they were trying to find ingredients and giving them benefit of the doubt but finally I said smth THEN OH BEHOLD THE DRINK WAS SITTING IN THE BLENDER AND THEY KNEW I WAS WAITING. I continually walked back in fourth making direct eye contact hoping they would catch on but they played stupid.. and even if you are new that does not excuse any reason for rudeness and customer neglect. And the drink wasn't even that good. Hope these people get fired especially the girl who didn't apologize for the wait or take accountability that they "forgot". The açaí here is solid! Tasted very creamy, thick, and fruity but not too sweet. Tons of açaí in the smallest bowl size. The fruits were fresh. The interior vibes are super fun and divey with lots of sass and personality. I loved the looooong menu with so many options. And the names were so fun! I ordered the Acaiwol Nation bowl ;) very simple and definitely hit the spot. If I were to offer one improvement it'd be to add more granola! I took off a star due to the slightly slow service. It was a cloudy Thursday afternoon between Christmas and NYE and there was no line when I entered, but I had to wait over 5 minutes to order. The mad beet is a delicious and eclectic Juicery in Pacific Beach right on Garnett Street. The place itself has a great atmosphere with very friendly workers. If you appreciate puns, you will definitely appreciate the menu at the Mad Beet. There's also a lot of games including arcade games that are fun to play while you wait just a few short minutes for your item. I wanted something refreshing and sharp so I ordered the public lemony juice and it was delicious. Just be ready to order a juice that will run you more than $10 which to me is a lot, but unfortunately it is not uncommon in this area to pay that much for juice. read more

It's still my favorite smoothie place in the area. I also prefer to support local, especially with so many national brands in the surrounding area. I understand the cost for EVERYTHING is increasing, but man it's really hard to pay $9 for a 24oz smoothie. They cut non-fat yogurt and I think some other ingredients from their menu - you can still add it for an extra charge of course. (The NFY was cut from my favorite smoothie.) The same smoothie I used to get for $6.75-7.45 is now $9.03 with less ingredients. To make it worse, the menu said it was $8.03 when I looked at my receipt later I saw the actual price. Intentional? I didn't want to think so, but seeing other reviews complain about deceptive pricing makes me think it is. I do like that it looks like they've simplified their pricing so all the smoothies are the same price. It makes it easier. But after tip it's over $10 - I just can't come here as much as I used to. Again, still one of the best smoothie shops in the area. Smoothies are made to order, they take a little extra time for the staff to prep. It's always worth the wait. I've been coming here for a bit, the employees are usually standoffish but I found a smoothie I enjoyed and liked the games so it was enough to keep me coming back. I tried a new smoothie this time and I didn't like it. I asked the employee if she could make me a different one or remake it without one of the ingredients and she firmly said no. She offered me to pay for another smoothie if I wanted a new one. I asked if I could get some kind of discount or something, or even a refund of my first and she said no. I work in customer service so I know how to make a moment right, and she put such a sour taste in my mouth, let alone the gross smoothie. This is one of the few smoothie spots in PB that offers a 32oz smoothie for around $10. Some places either don't have that larger size or charge a lot for it. My favorite is the Shakera smoothie, which is made with açaí, strawberry, blueberry, and banana. It's always fresh and not overly sweet. I've been here a few times, and there's usually no long wait or line for your smoothie. The staff can sometimes be a bit aloof depending on when you go, but I'll definitely be back because I really enjoy their smoothies. read more
