Loaded Breakfast Bowl with Chorizo and Turkey
    Michelle C.

24/7 restaurant right in Deep Ellum to stop by after a long night. My coworker and I wanted breakfast, I wanted to go to Waffle House and he wanted to go to Cafe Brazil. I haven't been to a Cafe Brazil since 2018, so why not? The loaded breakfast bowl was alright, but it left us both feeling not so great. Service and ambiance were alright. Although Cafe Brazil does a have a bigger menu with more varieties, I would still stick with my go to due to it being cheaper, better and service I get is usually great.

A really good place with its own vibe, pretty affordable! The staff were kind and super helpful. Food was pretty decent here

Good size portions for a reasonable price, pretty good flavor, although a bit greasy. The potatoes had rose merry which was a lovely flavor. I also enjoyed a caramel macchiato which was sweet with a strong coffee flavor. The service was friendly and relatively fast. The ambiance isn't fancy but is more diner like.

So I've been to a few different locations but the outcome still seems to be the same, not good. We walked in and the waitress was at the bar area eating her meal. She greeted us and told us to sit anywhere that we liked. Then we waited and waited for someone to assist us . . . We were the only people in the place (I should have known better). During the wait, I go to get coffee. The first two coffees I attempted are empty. I flag down a staff member and mention this to her and she proceeds to make a new batch of coffee. I go take a seat and we are still waiting for someone to come help us. She finally comes over and I had to request a menu and we put in our drink orders. She comes back with the drinks and we order our food. Now I go back for the coffee and still NO COFFEE - I see it has been brewed so I call another staff member to please sit it out so I can get some coffee. Sadly, the coffee isn't what I remember being so great about this place. We get our food and as much as I love crepes, these ain't it. Crepes are thin and light, these are thick and chewy. I was excited to share my crepes with my niece as she has never had them before but I had to tell her not to eat those as you don't want to start your food experience on a bad note. My niece didn't request tomatoes in her omelet, it was filled with tomatoes. The waffle lacked flavor . . . It was just disappointing. Overall I think that my memories of this place is what made me come back but I think this place will sadly become part of the memory as well.

My wife and I used to eat all the time at Cafe Brazil 25 years ago. We loved the breakfast. So we were in town and decided, "Got to try it again!" You know how sometimes nostalgia leaves you let down and it's not as good as you remembered it? NOT SO WITH CAFE BRAZIL!! Just as good as we remembered!! The French toast was !! Got the western omelette. !!! So love this place!!

I loved my breakfast order from this place that I ordered through doordash. I ordered Hashbrown casserole & banana bread french toast, along with hazelnut latte. I loved the french toast as I am a banana-bread lover. The flavors were perfectly balanced. It also had fresh cut bananas and strawberries that tasted good. The hashbrown casserole was good but I was expecting them to send side salt & pepper to enhance the flavor. The hazelnut latte was good too but had extra sugar in it. The food was good & worth the money. Would definitely try more dishes from this cafe.

Cute cafe in Deep Ellum. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon for a lunch with a friend. Most restaurants were closed at this time of day in Deep Ellum, but we ran into Cafe Brazil and there was only us and one other person at this time. Very chill, cool colorful decor and an impressive coffee display. We started a cup of coffee, there's a cute self-serve setup with 5 different kinds to choose from and all the fixings. We also ordered the southwest egg rolls to start. They are made to order so they came out very hot and they are huge- it took me about 5 bites to finish one. It comes with avocado ranch and sour cream, I really enjoyed the avocado ranch with them. Our server was super cool and very knowledgeable about the menu. A hot pick was the chicken waffle and bacon breakfast. It comes with all three of those things plus a hash browns casserole and over easy egg. I don't eat eggs and they were cool with making it without the egg. The chicken fingers were lightly battered and seasoned perfectly. The waffle was nice and crunchy with a fluffy inside that soaked up the syrup. The casserole was was nice and cheesy and the bacon was the cherry on top. I really enjoyed everything and it was really intimate and quite. My only feedback would be the flies- we sat by the window and the flies were going a little crazy and it slightly disturbing.

    Amazing Coffee selection

Silly ole me asked if onion cups could be provided and the resturant obliged, thank-you! Now for the taste test. The shrimp and pork dumplings were well packed with the protein. They dressed it well in sauces too! As I placed my dumpling in the onion cup i can say the sharpness of the onion meshed well. The crunch also brought another level texture to a soft dumpling. Now this is usually done with soup dumplings but when I say its a trend it ended diverting from the original post. Regardless, the restaurantet let me be silly and I appreciated it! As for our pizza, not to sound like im a pizza critic but this was a good one. The slice held well the toppings were fresh, especially the basil! It was thin and airy. They do not have a brick oven in case you were wondering. It didn't matter to me. I enjoyed my pizza! The cocktails were spot on in liquor and flavor balance. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

The location is a bonus, close enough to the trail that we parked once and made a full morning of it. We got there close to opening, and with World Cup later that afternoon the wait was nonexistent. Good timing on our part. The vibe inside is cool and laid back, exactly what you want after a morning outside. Service was friendly from the jump, and the bar clearly knows what they're doing. They make a great Carrajillo, which for me is a non-negotiable bonus. On to the food. I went with the Eggs Benedict and they were top tier, great flavor, well made, and came out fast. My wife got the jalapeño biscuits and gravy, and I'm genuinely glad she did because I was torn between that and what I ordered. I ended up getting bites of both, which was the right outcome for everyone. Both were phenomenal. This one is an easy add to the rotation. The trail, the food, the Carrajillo, it all works together. I've been here once before a few years back and the sentiment has held true since then. We were looking for a place to get brunch and Chelsea provides a waitlist in their website, so when we saw it didn't show any time on the estimate portion we decided to go check them out without adding our names (what's the point if there's no wait, right?). We walked in only 5 minutes after I'd look at that waitlist and were told they actually DID have a 30min wait. I pointed out the issue with their website and they just said it was normal, and I was also confused because there were plenty of open tables all around. We sat at the bar and not even 3 mins later we got a text saying our table was ready, and we just laughed as we walked back up to the hostess. The space is laid out in a way that seemed to cut down on the overall noise which was nice, and the seats were comfortable. We were sat inside and I could see that there was further seating in an outdoor area that also looked cute. Our drinks and food were pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing, but very reasonably priced for what you get and the dishes had good portion sizes. We left more than satisfied! Our server was nice but overall kind of slow, especially towards the end. It took a while to be able to request our checks so we could pay and head out. We'll keep this place in mind for the future because of the food variety and the prices. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time and not trusting their online waitlist estimates.

The night started beautifully--we enjoyed espresso martinis at the bar and were then seated at one of our favorite tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and caviar and were settling in to plan the rest of our meal when the experience took a turn. A tween/teen birthday party was seated in the private room. At first, we assumed the noise was just initial excitement and would settle after a few minutes. The parents of the birthday girl were seated nearby, and when the mother got up, we expected she might ask the girls to lower their volume. Unfortunately, the opposite happened--she brought the group out into the main dining room for photos, where the noise level became even more disruptive. Another couple seated near us--at what is typically a very desirable table--lasted no more than five minutes before asking to be moved outside. Shortly after, a manager approached the private room. We anticipated they would address the noise, but instead, they greeted the party warmly and thanked them for being there, without making any effort to manage the disruption. After so many consistently great experiences, it was honestly shocking. We truly felt as though we were being punked. My boyfriend and I both have children and enjoy bringing them to nice restaurants, but part of that experience includes ensuring they understand and respect the environment. When that standard isn't upheld--especially with no support from management--it significantly detracts from the experience for everyone else.
