    huge Caesar Salad
    Ed M.

Visited Cafe Capri for family birthday party! I haven't been to Cafe Capri in a long, long time. I would say close to 20 years. I have always been a fan just not geographically close as I use to be. We had a party of 9. We got there a different times so we started with some drinks and waited to order when everyone arrived. It was dinner time so it was a busy time....lots of peoople in and out picking up orders to go. They were hopping around the bar and all the tv's had games on, including the preview of the MNF game. Certainly a good vibe. We ordered 4 pizzas (2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, a chicken finger dinner and a caesar salad) all of the food came out at the same time, which is always nice. The food was hot and looked great....see pics! We all were very pleased with the food as it was devoured with one slice of pizza left! The service was great...although she was up against it with a table of 9 plus, I am sure, other tables! We all left pleased and full...which is always a good thing! 5 stars and I will be back before I left another 20 years slide by! PS: Plenty of parking....price was great!

"Bruschetta." Thick slices of sesame seed bread with lukewarm congealed cheese and one tomato.

Service: Great. Food: Terrible. Ambiance: Lighting is overly harsh. Change your bulbs please. I think this is one of Reading's only restaurants that have been able to survive, so they have a following. But the food is terrible. You might go there to meet up with friends but don't expect any classic Italian dishes. Our wedding soup was cold with large chunks of barely cooked spinach, and our "bruschetta" consisted of congealed cheese and one tomato on an enormous soft piece of sesame seed bread. The chicken parm comes with a dish of Prego style sauce and ziti. The cherry in top of this terrible meal was the crusty glass my red wine was served in. Not worth your time or money.

*Covid 19* First time here, I don't go to reading often place give me hives but my husband said this place hads good pizza. So we grab a pizza and some Zella sticks. Both were yummy. I really loved the crust, we did ask for well done. I would definitely order again. I'm not sure if they do delivery or not, but the pizza was yummy.

Took a couple minutes to sit down but four different people had told me someone will be right with me and they were very nice so I was good. Wasn't really in a rush the person that sat me down, I think the owner, was very nice told me they were pretty busy and someone would be with me in a couple of minutes again I'm glad he told me so I didn't feel like I was abandoned took a little longer than I thought but not too bad. Waitress finally came. I gave her my drink order and my food order and then I waited. The Celtics game was on so my time was occupied. The spot is very nice inside cool vibe. I think it was 50 minutes approximately from when I entered until I got my food. Barbecue places are usually really quick cause the food is ready. I ordered to meet two side combo, brisket pork belly, mac & cheese beans and rice. The mac & cheese was amazing. creamy cheesy good flavor. The beans and rice were pretty good too, moist rice good flavor. The brisket was good wish it was juicier and had more flavor. The pork belly was awful overcooked dry flavorless. All I could taste was burnt and then the cornbread was also very good. I don't know if this place is brand new and they're still figuring things out, but the weight seemed longer than it should be in the food wasn't all as good as it should be the workers the owner were amazing. I hope this place works out for them. staff was a five food was a two. I hate to say it.

I got the two meats with two sides, Smoked Brisket and Pork Belly, Rice n Beans and Mac n Cheese. The Brisket was FANTASTIC, great smoke ring and flavor, the bend and pull was exactly what you'd want, The bacon was a good complement with good chew and taste. The Mac n Cheese was delicious much better than I expected, Smokey taste but there was something else that made me want more, the rice was good, but the Mac n Cheese was just that good!! Best BBQ I've had since Martins in Nashville Tennessee. I can't wait to go back, this time I'm going to eat it there and just enjoy the atmosphere!!

Made reservations online and that all went smoothly. We were sat and then our disaster started. Our waitress was never to be seen. It took her forever to get to us, serve us and bring our food. I had to ask other servers for refills and issues with our food. Our appetizer of buffalo chicken dip came out with really bad chips. They tasted very stale and been sitting out for awhile. We ate it anyways. Our food eventually came by a food runner and we had serveral mess ups. My mother received the wrong side (ordered parm fries and received cold white rice). The food runner fixed it and was fine. My food was very cold, it took forever for someone to come after searching for our waitress. She went and warmed up my food in the microwave and brought it back. My friends meal was good, the sweet potato fries were delicious. By the time we finished eating we were waiting for boxes and our server forever. Our simple dinner was about 2 hours because she was so un attentive. We still have no idea where she was, we can see the kitchen and the floor but nothing. This was a horrible experience and poor establishment. I'd recommend other places.

The quality of service, food, drinks, atmosphere were all very good. Turnover here is also very good, as there was no wait for an almost-full restaurant at 7pm on a Friday evening. Drinks were flavorful, but strength seemed a bit inconsistent. My Patriot's Pour, a bourbon drink, seemed a wee bit stronger both in flavor and perceived alcohol than the martinis we were served. The ice cube with the restaurant's name in it was a nice touch. Our dinners all came out at the same time and were, as mentioned, enjoyable. I did notice that the counter in front of the kitchen, where dishes are placed waiting for pickup, seemed to have more plates on it than the could be under the heat lamps. Hopefully folks' dinners weren't inconsistent in temperature. My Thai salmon was done the way I like it, firm and crispy. We also got the crispy green beans which are exactly what you expect, I do wish they had a bit more seasoning because I don't love the wasabi dipping sauce they come with. We then got the jalapeno and bacon wrapped scallops, as well as the seared pork gyozas which are by far the best appetizer on the menu - the chili slaw it lays on has the most insane flavor and the crispy outside of the gyoza is just to die for. We all got various meals but me and a friend split the hot honey salmon sushi roll and the umami veggie sushi roll - both were amazing!! I will always get the umami, as basic as it is the flavor is just unreal. Only negative thing I have to say is that the service was very very slow, for a Monday night at 7pm, it was busy but not busy enough to not be greeted at the table for 25 minutes, then wait for drinks for 20 minutes and then not get to put our order in until an hour of sitting at the table, so that was a bit disappointing but first time we have had this issue.

The menu also offers several sandwiches -- including grilled chicken, boneless fried chicken, chicken salad, steak and cheese -- which are available all day for those heathens who don't crave breakfast foods at every opportunity. I had the Javah Grindah sandwich ($8), comprised of two eggs (over medium at my request), breakfast meat (ham, bacon, or sausage), and a side of James River BBQ sauce on a fresh grinder roll. Unfortunately.. although the description on the menu doesn't mention cheese, my sandwich came out with two slices of white American cheese. I hate having to ask a restaurant to do this, but I had to send it back because lactose. Our server apologized for the misunderstanding and brought a replacement sandwich without cheese out straight away. The sandwich was really tasty with the BBQ sauce. My dining companion preferred something lighter and opted for the Skinny Girl Pick ($12), comprised of two eggs, fresh avocado, fresh fruit, and a few slices of wheat toast, which she really enjoyed. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!
