The food was just ok, nothing to rave about. It's also very pricey, almost twice as much as Blue Ribbon. It was me and two other customers when I placed a take out order early afternoon. The young girl behind counter wouldn't stop her personal conversation long enough to acknowledge me, this went on for ten minutes. I knew her whole life story before she finally took my order. Then she gets my order wrong, overcharges me and another girl claimed to have fixed it and I would see a credit back to my card. I never did get the refund. First time going to this location. We have gone to the other MA locations, but never this one. Upon arrival, we were sat right away. Much to our surprise, it took 10+ minutes for anyone to come over to our table, and there were only about 4 tables sat in the entire restaurant. Not off to a great start. The food at the location, was by far the best of all locations. All the meat was tender, and the sides were perfect. We got the pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, burnt ends, brisket, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, coleslaw - all were exceptional. Assuming service improves, I would give this place a 5/5 and is an absolute must go to. Skip heading into the city and go to the suburbs. They just do take out until four o'clock so I did take out for lunch at 1:30. I had a burnt end sandwich which featured glazed brisket. As soon as I saw 'glazed', it should have alerted me. The brisket was covered in a syrupy bbq sauce. Always get it on the side. So much for any flavor from the smoking process. Whenever BbQ is in the name of the restaurant, it signals that Barbecue sauce is part of the meat. it was a commercial bun that you would find at McDonalds. i've been to the assembly row location, and well as the harvard square location a handful of times, so i did have certain expectations based on previous experiences at more busy locations. this is an old applebees renovated into a smoke shop bbq, so it's not as custom as their other locations. i ordered takeout from here, just a nashville crispy chicken sandwich with a side of mac & cheese and cornbread. the chicken sandwich was stuffed and good. the mac & cheese wasn't my favorite. when i called to order, the sizes of cornbread were unclear, and i ended up ordering a large, when a small would have been fine. when i came to pickup, one of the hosts was helpful, the other girl with her head down reading something seemed to be less than helpful (and seemed to have some seniority?). i asked if it came with silverware, and the girl with her head down said it was already in the very stapled up bag. i asked for 2 silverware packs anyways, and i'm glad i did because there was in fact, no silverware included, as i thought. i didn't like that the prices on my receipt were raised from what was listed online, especially since this location only opened two months ago? it was a minor amount, but for a new restaurant, their menu prices should be accurate. not a dealbreaker. the people who work here should visit their other locations to see how customers are used to being treated. read more

The BBQ sauces were delicious hot sauce had a great delayed sorry I'm the , the gold medal had a nice mustard flavor and the sweet had great depth. Although I unfortunately have not been able to go inside the restaurant myself, I have ordered over the phone and had the order picked up, have gotten it delivered by Uber Eats multiple times and my father has also brought food over from The Smoke Shop multiple times. I would love to visit the restaurant and hope too soon to check it out and meet any workers or the owner but unfortunately at 35, I am having bad problems with my back and not able to stand or walk for three minutes or less . Now let's get to what is important! The brisket and the ribs are truly great, cooked right and so, so tasty and both make a great meal especially with the pit beans. The pulled pork sandwich is absolutely delicious. So flavorsome. The cornbread is really good. Like really, really good. I haven't had a cornbread like that since my mother would make it. I love getting a pulled pork sandwich and some cornbread. The kids absolutely love everything that I have named too. I was happy that my son had liked the pit beans, I was surprised sometimes he can be picky but he really liked them. He loves everything they are, especially the pulled pork sandwich and the cornbread. I've been a loyal smoke shop customer for years and was so thrilled when I heard they'd be opening a location near me. Went here early on a Friday evening for dinner with my husband and two little kids. This location was formerly an Applebees, still kind of looks like it too. They did begin the redecorating and redesign, but the space gives chain restaurant vibes. We made a reservation and glad we did, this place filled up fast. Our server was lovely and incredibly kind. Their food is consistent, same quality and consistency as other locations. Cocktails were excellent, I had the strawberry margarita and there is an option to make it spicy if that's your thing. They have an excellent kid's menu, they can pick a main, side, drink, and dessert. Bathrooms needed some attention, a little messy and missing paper towels. This place is a welcome addition to the area, can't wait to come back! read more

The waitress that we had, was probably new, she did not have a good grasp of the menu and she served 4 people a meal that was for 2 people, so I only ate I rib and 1 piece of chicken, the rest of the meats I did not care for. The manager who was pleasant didn't figure out the error until we were just about done. There were napkins and utensils noted under some of the tables. I am doing this review after my third visit to this location. Each time I've been here, the service has been terrible. All three times were on Sundays between lunch and dinner. On all three visits, they appeared to be short-staffed, and the wait staff was overwhelmed. The last visit was on 1/18. We ordered chicken wings and loaded mac and cheese to come with the meal, not as an appetizer. The waiter told us he had already put in the wings and they would be out first, even though it wasn't what we asked him to do. This was his mistake; if he just listened to the rest of the sentence, it wouldn't have happened, and he didn't offer to fix it. We also ordered a full rack of babyback ribs with fries and B&B pickles. I ordered a Guinness, but it was poured incorrectly. This is a minor detail, I know, but if you don't know how it's supposed to be poured, don't serve it. Our food came out quickly and was dropped off. However, the chicken wings never came out. We were not brought any ketchup or the extra BBQ sauces they usually bring. The waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to get up and walk across the restaurant to get it ourselves. We didn't see the waiter again until we were two-thirds through our meal. The cornbread that was supposed to be with my meal wasn't on the plate. I didn't realize the cornbread was missing until I got home. When we asked about the missing chicken wings, the waiter looked at us like we were crazy. He left the table for an extremely long time. He returned, apologized, and explained that it had been delivered to the wrong table. He brought the wings and offered us a free side. We didn't want more food, and nothing was taken off the bill for what we had already ordered. While this was happening, a table of three people came in and sat down. They waited for a long time before anyone came over to them. They got up and left. The food here is very good, but the service is unjustifiably poor. If I'm paying more than $100 for a meal, there is no excuse for an experience like this. read more

We went here recently to try out the food since we want to choose a place to cater a party for us. We got a large platter that included a little of just about everything on the menu. The cornbread was amazing. My husband and son raved about the pulled pork and chicken wings and also liked the brisket and ribs. My usual favorite sides to go with barbecue are mac n cheese, baked beans, and Cole slaw, but I thought these were the weakest of their sides. The m&c was way too cheesy (and I like cheese), the baked beans were unexpectedly peppery and spicy, and the Cole slaw was just ok, nothing bad but nothing special. We ended up loving the zucchini salad, collard greens, and potato salad (that had sweet potatoes in there too). The two mocktails that we tried were delicious and not expensive--that was an unexpected bonus. Our server was great, no complaints there. We brought back some leftovers, including the fries, which my other son who had not gone with us devoured and said they were some of the best fries he's had (even though they were cold at this point)! We will be ordering from this place for our party, but glad we tried a bunch of stuff in advance to figure out what we want to order. read more

GF Alert!!! Major Allergy! Had an Allergen menu. Items were labeled G if they had gluten and a G with parentheses- means the meal can be made without gluten! First time having BBQ since going GF. I almost ordered an order to go home, which was 5 hours away. I order pulled chicken , pulled pork, which came with two sides. I got seasoned fries and sweet potato mash. Everything was delicious! this baby owner doesn't do well with criticism. my original order I didn't enjoy all of it, my first $30 ordered was a 1/2 slab rib plate with 2 sides I got Brussels with onion jam and mash potatoes (find me on google for that review) one of the item was removed off all menus because it was less liked by a lot of customer figure out which one that is. I left a review on google which he saw So he (baby owner) reached out and I receive a small comp to get something else. So I did. I got the Nashville chicken sliders $10, And I don't want to say what the issue was with my slider order Cause only the owner and myself know what it was. and I didn't write a review I just emailed the owner and expressed it to him, the other half of my sandwich I throughly enjoyed. it would of been nice if I could of ate them both. Just had lunch at the Smoke Shop BBQ in Woburn. It was excellent. We started with their award winning wings for an appetizer. Best wings I ever had. For lunch I had the pulled pork sandwich and my hubby had the smoked turkey BLT. We got the spiced fries as a side. They are so delicious we didn't even to put ketchup on them. We also got the cornbread! Amazing cornbread. Be sure to try it. Very unique and delightful. The staff is lovely, the whole experience was great. The atmosphere very comfortable. Be sure to ask for a table in Una's area if she's working. She will be sure you have as good a lunch and time as we did. Can't wait to return. read more
