Delicious food, good service. Probably best calamari I've ever had and the bread was to die for.

Food came out very quickly, restaurant was about half full at the time. Service was fine but not over the top friendly, just to-the-point. Food tasted great, I am not portugese so dont have grandma's cooking to compare it to, but I really liked it. Tasted like home cooking to me. I will come back next time im in Bristol. Octopus stew was great, but you better like octopus because its just octopus, potatoes and broth.

Pork Bifana, por and clams and kale soup.

Cafe Central is a small place in downtown Bristol that has excellent food. Love eating there and getting take out as well.

Good downhome Portuguese food with an emphasis on seafood. It's nothing fancy, but you'll leave satisfied.

Fish did not smell good. Only had half of my dinner. Went home and was so sick from eating the baked cod fish. Won't be going back.

My friend and I ordered the Portuguese steak sandwich that came with fries to go and took it to the local beach less than 2 minutes away from the restaurant. Contrary to other reviews I found the food lacking in all flavor and extremely dry. Being Portuguese, I grew up with the cuisine and garlic is a staple especially when it comes to Portuguese steak. I could not even taste it. That steak should have slapped you with garlic and there was nothing. There was zero salt, pepper, NOTHING! The only thing with flavor was the pickled red pepper because it comes already in pickle juice and the sandwich had one pepper. My other issue with the meal was the fact that the steak was extremely dry to the point I had difficulty swallowing it. The fries were also a disappointment usually served on the sandwich with a brow garlic gravy, these fries were served plain on the side. Again no salt and tasted fishy so they definitely were frying fish in the same oil. Seeing I don't like fish, I was not impressed. While the restaurant is nice, I cannot say anything about the service because we grabbed and went. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. There are plenty of other good Portuguese restaurants in the area that will fulfill the want for Portuguese food. I really wanted this to be good with the proximity to the beach but it just wasn't.

I knew Jack's would be on the " must visit" list and I was NOT disappointed. The owner/chef (?) came to the table asking if there was anything else we might enjoy. Fabulous service. While the deco is truly retro from when first opened in the 1970s, ( but very clean) the food is why I go! Our party had eggplant parm, scrod, smelts in special sauce, & shrimp Mozambique. The sauce for smelts does have a bite to it if you have issues with spicy foods). We left with many leftovers to enjoy another day. Their luncheon menu is very reasonably priced and ample portions. Don't pass this restaurant up- will not disappoint.!

I don't know what is in it, but I could practically drink it. - The Godfather. You can't go wrong with this platter. The surprise was the eggplant parm. It was so delicate and flavorful! Over…read morethis long period, we have never once been acknowledged or treated as regulars, on our visits to the restaurant, which is both disappointing and unacceptable. Every time we visit, we travel approximately an hour and a half just to dine at Spring. On many occasions, we have also brought friends with us, recommending the restaurant because we enjoy the food so much. During our last visit, we entered the restaurant and waited at the entrance. After a significant amount of time, the lady finally showed us to a table but did not personally accommodate us. We then waited a long time to be served, not by her, but after requesting assistance from another gentleman nearby, who also did not seem inclined to provide proper service. I find it hard to believe he did not recognize us as the regular customers we are. I am seriously questioning whether I should continue coming to your restaurant. After this experience, or rather, because we have never been treated as regular customers, it is impossible that the staff, who are always the same, do not recognize us visually. We continue to come and have recommended your restaurant to friends because the food is excellent and reasonably priced. However, the service has consistently been rude, brusque, and lacking the basic courtesy owed to loyal patrons. We enjoy the food, but I must be clear: the poor service is unacceptable, and it cannot be overlooked any longer. I hope this is taken seriously, as customer loyalty deserves respect. Thank you.
