Second time visiting this establishment. We were blown away the first time so we thought we'd give a second shot. Service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and accommodating but not hovering. We ordered our drinks Bombay Sapphire Martini straight up with 3 olives for me and a Tangueray and Tonic for hubs. Both spot on. Next up a beet and orange salad to share. Delicious and just enough. Entrees. I ordered the Paella, something you don't see on too many menus and Hubs ordered a sausage, chourizo dish. Both excellent choices (with enough for a take home second meal). The atmosphere is pleasant We hope to get to The Oxford Tavern more often as the food, service and location make it great choice for dinner. PS we saved room for dessert. Blackberry blueberry crisp. Delicious

Finally got around to trying out the new Barrington location and it was nothing short of amazing! We got there on a rainy Sat night - called ahead to see if they took reservations but were told no and that there should be no wait. We got there shortly after and were promptly seated and serviced. The new spot is def a few steps up from the old spot - updated, modern and airy. Meaghan was our waitress and was wonderful - as was all the staff. It was outstanding friendly service and efficient all at the same time. We started with the loaded tater tots and the octopus special. The octopus was cooked wonderfully and the tots were a fun appetizer to share - reminds me of my elementary school lunch if I was Richie Rich. But the spotlight goes to our entrees - I got the chicken parm with fresh rigatoni and the pink vodka sauce and he ordered veal parm with fresh bucatini and pink vodka sauce (how unoriginal ). Both were delicious! I love me a good vodka sauce and fresh pasta - my rigatoni was maybe 20 seconds short of being al dente but I'd prefer a tad harder vs soggy floppy pasta. The bucatini however was perfecto! The mister said it was one of the best veal parms he's ever had and that's a tall order to fill! All drinks were creative and tasty! And with how delicious dinner was, we had to get some dessert and they didn't disappoint! We were way too full and took the rest of dessert to go. With the nightmare that is the Washington Bridge debacle - this is a great place to support more locally, you won't be disappointed! No need to go to the Hill for some good Italian (they do serve up Portuguese fare as well) when we've got a great spot in our backyard! With apps, drinks, dinner and dessert - tax + tip was close to $200 but well worth every penny!

I visited their new Barrington location, and they now accept credit cards. I ordered the Portuguese and Fenway pizzas. Both were decent, but a bit on the small side. There were a ton of toppings, but felt the pizzas were over powered by the banana peppers. The flavors were nice otherwise, a bit spicy maybe. Overall, it was an Aok experience, and the menu still feels somewhat pricey.

First time here. My friend suggested we try it based on his friend's recommendation. What a great place! Decoration was nice but nothing special but the vibe from the regulars was cool. The overall experience was exemplary. Our server Phil was awesome and was super helpful with a large menu with an endless number of choices. He was always there enduro we had what we needed. Cocktails were fantastic. The "top shelf" margarita was so good that I had another one with my meal versus a glass of wine. Shrimp Mozambique appetizer was so flavorful. One of the best renditions I have tried. The star of the show was this baked seafood dish in a light chili sauce. It was full of clams, shrimp, octopus, squid and whitefish. Perfect amount of chorizo. It was truly an outstanding dish that I would not have expected at a Tavern This place is a true hidden gem. Will be back despite it being 30 minutes away

A good friend of mine visits the Oxford regularly and invited us out this past Wednesday. When we arrived, a pipe had burst but the staff was quick to seat us and let us know the status of when we would be waited on. I was impressed with their honesty and happy they set our expectations. The menu is printed out and changes daily because it's made from scratch. I had bucatini with white sauce and lobster, scallops, clams and squid. It was phenomenal. Bucatini is my favorite pasta but you can't get it out normally because it is fresh made. The owner, who came out to talk to us, let me know that he buys everything he can locally. We were served very fresh breast with olive oil dip. Liked that a lot. Here's the surprise for me...deep fried raw spaghetti with seasoning. WOW. It's a must have. Martinis were made quick and every one was very good. Cosmos with tequila and espresso. Staff was great. We forgot our leftover food and the very kind waiter ran it out to us in the pouring rain. If you haven't been here, you must go!

This was a special and I can't remember what the cut of this meat was....my friend ordered it and he loved it!

I had a really nice experience here last week with my husband and another couple who had already been. The place is located in a small local plaza in Barrington, parking is good. It was a Friday evening around 7:30pm, we didn't have reservations but took our chances. It was busy but they had a high top available near the bar. Ambience is nice, cozy. The high top was located in the far back right corner which I think is a lovely place to be seated here. The food was really good. I really enjoyed my choice of Linguine and Little necks and my husband and friends all enjoyed their choices as well. The entire experience was just really good. The service was truly professional. Our server was very attentive. Cocktails were really well made, I ordered an Old Fashioned, which is my preferred cocktail and the bartender made it perfectly. We will be going back soon:)

Oxford Tavern had a great ambience, took the whole family for dinner on a Friday night and got a table quickly. Food was hot when it came out and the waiter had several recommendations. Everything was great but the Crazy pasta and the Oreo cheesecake were the best!

Came back and the chicken parm was chewy. I won't be returning. It tasted like grilled chicken with breading...

The feel of Providence outside of Providence. Nice atmosphere, staff attentive. Nice / clean but most of all, the food is fresh and tasty. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls was amazing , the wings were perfect. Just a great experience

I was expecting it to be a dive (I do love a good dive bar!), but Stingy Alley is beautiful and classy, with an amazing cocktail menu and small bites as well. There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. Both were outstanding - I could easily have tried a few more of the dessert cocktails, but alas we had a 40 minute drive home so that will have to wait for another visit. Will definitely come back to Stingy Alley - thanks for a lovely end to our night!

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!

But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~

We started with a complex Black Onion Garlic dip with house-made potato chips. Straight away, this puts everyone in a good mood. Our appetizers consisted of Roasted Farm Carrots & Beets, Lamb and Beef Meatballs, and Citrus & Radicchio Salad (party of 4). All were expertly crafted, creative, and delicious. Of special note, the sauce served with the meatballs was "finger-lickin good". For entrees, we ordered White Lamb Ragu, Roasted Lamb Loin, and Nettie & Ramp Pesto Fettucini. Each dish was beautifully presented and generated a lot of excitement at the table. The roasted lamb, which was perfectly cooked medium rare, was succulent. The house-made, melt-in-your mouth pappardelle pasta served with a ragu sauce put me in the zone. For dessert, we enjoyed 2 servings of a Frangipane buckwheat tart with Almond ice cream. This unusual creation was a homerun. A 32-ounce French Press was enjoyed by all. It's not easy to produce such a meal. Service is terrible! It's impossible ton get in and out of there in under 2 hours. Waitstaff are…read moreextremely slow. Seems to be a very high turnover over rate in that place for employees. Why isn't there a bartender on? Servers are taking orders and making their down drinks. STOP USING THE POURERS to measure alcohol! Not a good look when a customer watches your drink being made with those. Staff does not wear a uniform either.. zits just odd. And we wonder why the bar is always empty! I will say, There was a decent woman in her 40's working there for a few weeks on Saturday nights . She was wonderful!, and could actually make a drink! I haven't seen her in months. I can't lie, one evening we couldn't help but watch her try to pretty much jug the entire restaurant and make everyone's drinks because the other staff were clueless. One waitress was working with a surgical boot on her foot that went all the way up to her knee! Talk about a Liability! . I haven't seen that other server there in quite some time. I could only guess that she took her experience elsewhere. She was way too overqualified to be working in that establishment. She could handle that entire restaurant by herself. . Either that, or she ran out that restaurant door because she saw how the place was run! It's unfortunate because the food is delicious. But we just can't go there anymore. It's a nightmare.

boooo. it is not even 8!I click on a Sunday and I can't find some simple zippy shrimp and whiskey…read more Warren restaurants kind of suck.
