Cafe Con Cariño is exactly what the name promises: love & care in every cup. Came here to study nd immediately fell in love. The space is beautiful--cozy, welcoming, and perfect for posting up with a laptop. Wi-Fi is strong, outlets are plentiful, and the vibe is just right! I'm currently studying for the NCLEX (pls send prayers lol), and this was easily one of the best places I've studied at. But more than just the setup... it's the energy of this place. As a queer brown person, being in a space full of other queer brown folks just existing makes me feel so seeeeeen. I had the Horchata Salvadoreña Latte, and baby... that blend of spices and sweetness?? Yes. My partner Jackson who is basically a walking coffee snob had a cappuccino with oat milk and didn't complain once. If that's not a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is. The staff here are gems. Genuinely supportive, so easy to talk to, and clearly care about building relationships with their regulars. They want to know you, not just serve you. You feel like you're part of something just by being here. The owner is the sweetest - very kind, grounded, and full of vision. She is building something very important here. I'm grateful to know her through Jackson and truly wishing her all the success in the world. I've also tried the pastries before and they're bomb. Im about to order round two and trying the matcha which I'm sure will be bomb. Please come support this place. For the drinks, for the space, for the community and for the cariño.

The menu changes every so often so some of these drinks are likely going to be different when you visit

Came in on a rainy day looking for a chill spot to grab some tea and coffee with different flavor options. What a great airy space that serves as a multi-cultural test kitchen and restaurant/cafe owned and operated by non-profit organization Oakland Bloom. We ordered the cola de mono, well balanced latte with chocolate, cinnamon and hints of citrus and the ceremonial matcha with Palestinian sage syrup, which was subtle in flavor. Service was really good and overall vibe was nice and chill. Would be a great place to hangout and possibly doing some lite work or reading.

This coffee shop has been high on my list for a while and I finally was able to make it out try it and it did not disappoint one bit. We were already starting off good when I found street parking close by. My sister and I walked towards it and a man asked if we were looking for the coffee shop we said yes and he directed us to the building with a smile. We walked right into this beautiful space. I was taken aback by how beautiful the walls are. How intimate the seating was. The variety of plants that were all over the place. All the goods displayed by all types of small businesses. There was someone in front of us but the woman on the other end still made sure to acknowledge us. When it was our turn she greeted us again with the brightest smile I have ever seen and showed us the menu and shared that they also offered food options. I had made up my mind quickly and decided to go for the Meramiah Latte and the caramelized platano bread. My sister opted for a matcha. As she run us up she asked about us, where we came from, and just made conversation with us. She asked us if we're having it to go or here and we both decided to have it at the shop instead of rushing out. We took a seat in a corner spot by the window and just enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. My understanding is it's a large kitchen that is shared by multiple small businesses on different days and times. Shortly after our drinks came out in tall glass cups. The presentation was simple but beautiful. I took a sip of my coffee and the unique flavors, the strength of the coffee was all delicious. I've never tried anything like this. The platano bread was also a nice addition as we sipped our drinks. My sister loved her matcha. She's really picky about matcha and this one did not disappoint her. We enjoyed the rest of our time in each other's company. The space is beautiful. The setup is intimate. Not dark lights and booths like dinner places but small tables where you can be close enough but also enjoy the natural lighting coming in. The two women who run Cafe con Carino were so welcoming and sweet. Their energy was all the vibes. It was a pleasure to meet them and to drive all the way there for such an unforgettable coffee experience. It's been a long time since I've had a full circle coffee shop experience and Cafe Con Carino delivered. I will return with my whole clan and highly recommend you visit and support these 2 women making their dreams a reality and they serve their community with their delicious offerings.

The words "Salsa tasting" caught my eyes and my legs brought me here. After pouring a few chips on a plate, he spooned a little of each flavor to try. Before you knew it, I had a bottle of salsa Macha Classico (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9eYPJVM_Tfpdnwp-_-mjeA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) in my cart to bring home. I gifted a bottle of salsa Mikitsli (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=dp19E5ZUI4kC-xkTKhlbXw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), a habanero based sauce; this one, unlike mine, must be refrigerated. I finally opened the bottle about a week later. I had to give some thought in having this with my tortilla chips as the separation between the ingredients is pretty distinct with the top third being mostly oil and floating pumpkinseeds. I decided to get a soy sauce dish and spoon the chili ingredients from the lower section and add some of the top oil. It was tasty, just as I remember from the sample, but so be careful in not having the salsa go down the wrong way as I choked a little in eating one chip. Being a big hot sauce and chili oil fan, I would put this in those categories as it's not like your store bought or taqueria style salsa... I'm a huge pico de gallo fan. Do try their samples and see if something catches your fancy. *** They were not at the Ferry farmer's market this past Saturday, 6/29/24. I don't know if they'll be there next week.

The ceviche was good, and the steak was cooked properly, though it's hard to mess up a steak. The Brussels sprouts were underwhelming, and the chicharrones portion was pretty skimpy.
