Probably the best coffee spot in the east bay, truly! Being close to Bart and not having to look for parking, I know I could always come grab an ice coffee or a latte when I want to study in a safe space. The service is always quick, and the environment is always friendly

I was in the Uptown Oakland area and needed a caffeine kick. The place I usually go to wasn't selling coffee after a certain time (not sure what's up) so I walked a few blocks to Kinfolx. I love the space! It's welcoming, warm, and inclusive. Definitely a community space. There's so many fliers advertising groups, events, and activities. The interior is very thoughtful. They also have a book club and they offer Caribbean patties. I enjoyed my rose iced oat latte. It wasn't overly sweet but had good flavor. Great place to work.

Kinfolx Coffee is a staple must-try, and the Kinfolx Latte was my highlight. The latte was like a warm hug on a rainy day and the atmosphere was inviting. Kinfolx definitely earned a spot on my Coffee Passport, and I'm looking forward to coming back for more.

Wow! Such a good experience. I am so happy I finally made it here. Huge location, plenty of varied seating (community tables, small tables, sofas, benches, etc.). We got there for a book club shortly after Kinfolx opened today (Sunday), and we got seats in the back area with the blue sofas. Ordered a matcha latte with lavender. SO GOOD! I got the bacon, egg, and, cheese sandwich on brioche. After my book club, I moved to a different table at the front of the store to get some work done, order another meal/ drink, people-watch. Plenty of outlets available. Picked up a gift-card for a secret Santa exchange later in the week (theme: local small businesses). You can earn points/ rewards, so make sure to sign up. There's plenty of parking around. Ran into a couple of friends who joined me and saw Kev Choice! That's another reason I loved this spot -- so many people, so much community. There are tons of events all the time! I'm coming back soon for a writing workshop and for more drinks, food, and community.

This mattered to me. Girl, boom.

Wit' my Kin' an' 'em. I always find a friend when I'm at Kinfolx. Always. I meet a new artist or a new face that I end up chatting it up with and just finding something to like about. Call it serendipity or living in the kind of city where folks tend to cultivate the creative, but Kinfolx's fresh interior often proves the perfect backdrop for a good conversation alongside their great drinks and grub. Kinfolx serves as an excellent workspace but can also quickly get a bit crowded, so that's something to bear in mind. Kinfolx also hosts a slew of community events and workshops, working with local organizations who put on various events or projects at the café. You can check their website to see what they've got coming up or to book the venue for your own soirée. And to top it all off? They have a bidet. Pretty much perfect.

Looking for a spot in Oakland with great food, caffeine, and WiFi? Look no further--- Kinfolx is your place. Massive space where community can share food, good times, all the things. There are different seating options around, including large community tables, smaller tables tucked inside the venue, sofas, benches, the works. A place for everyone. I enjoyed my unsweetened matcha and breakfast sandwich. So good. Everything. The decor and ambiance is also on point. Look no further. Come on down.

Banana cream cold foam is seasonal! The matcha came unsweetened but you can add syrup to your drink or just add sugar yourself. The ambiance was everything and the cafe is so cute!

This place truly lives up to its inviting name I felt at home instantly. The work area is fantastic, and the friendly service with a smile makes every visit enjoyable. The ambiance sets the perfect mood for closing deals, whether big or small. I tried the avocado bagel toast; even if it's not on the menu, they figured it out and crafted my signature Americano with vanilla, half and half, and four sugars absolutely delightful! The jalapeño and cheese bagel was simply delicious. Plus, I loved soaking in the sunshine and admiring the art on the walls. It's exciting to learn they host events and also sell wine here -- such a bonus. I always stop by whenever I'm in Oakland and can't wait to attend their upcoming events.

The vibes at Kinfolx are always good. This is a Black owned business that promotes inclusivity. It's a good place to study, sit down for a bit, or grab food or drinks to go. It has a very art deco/black renaissance interior. I really enjoy the artwork, books the selves, wine display, and overall aesthetic. People watching has been one of my favorite things to do while waiting for my coffee to go. The coffee is delicious

Popped in for breakfast snack after going to my union hall around the corner. Was delighted to find so many great things. The ambiance was popping, hello beautiful artwork! The menu had options, hello tasty vegetarian breakfast situations! I chose the veggie patty and my husband had the avocado toast. Neither of us are vegetarians but it slapped none the less. He had a straight black coffee and j had a matcha latte with almond milk and for the first time in my life the matcha wasn't sweetened. Amazing!! I sprinkled a few grains of raw sugar in my drink and that was it. We sat in a lovely velvet couch, had a lovely conversation and enjoyed our time. Glad to know this place is nearby a place we frequent for work. Will be back.

Back again and the service and ambiance were both stellar. I just wanted to get on here to encourage you all to get the Kinfolx Latte! It's heavenly!

I expected actual lox in the bagel and lox sandwich that I ordered but instead got a lox smear. What a let down for the price I paid. The cashier acted like she didn't want to be there. Casual atmosphere. The Kinfolx latte was alright.

I really enjoy going to this cafe! The interior is very cute, decorated with art and different furniture pieces. It has lots of natural light too. The staff is very kind, even to the homeless which I adore!! I usually order an iced Americano with caramel and it hits the spot. I've also tried their chicken pesto sandwich and I loved it.

The scene on a Thursday at 11am. Real spacious and enough seats to settle in for a coffee date or study session.

    Ask the Community - Kinfolx

Is the cafe open during events?

What's the kinfolx space fee (3.5%)? Bought a coffee to go and got charged an additional fee.

    How's the wifi?

Great-- I can do everything from casual email & web browsing to video calls, larger file downloads, insta scrolling, etc.

Do they serve decaf coffee? I went there 2 weeks ago and the person at the front desk said that they didn't have any that day.

They did have some the day I went.

I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.

I really enjoyed what I tasted (see photo). I think because there was going to be a Georgian food pop up, the kitchen wasn't as it usually is. I had a little board of brillant savarian triple cream and salchichon salami. What a treat! The service was unusual. Part of it is that it's a wine bar and shop. The person staffing the bar was really busy doing many different things. As that was the case, interacting felt a bit strained. At the same time, considering how much she had going on, she kept it together. I appreciated that she kept track of who was next. Something that stood out to me was how reasonably priced the wines are. Great "bang for the buck." I see myself being a regular.
