We were on our way to Pinnacles National Park, wanted a quick coffee break, and found this place online that had great reviews. While they have your classic espresso drinks for the OG lovers, we came to try their specialty drinks. And they blew away our expectations with them! Their Strawberry Matcha Crema was a great twist on a matcha latte - had that classic matcha flavor as a rich and creamy topper complete with a strawberry base. Definitely more decadent, but it is so worth it no matter the time of day. Grabbed some breakfast as well, and their arepas were a great choice. Served hot and fresh, stuffed with eggs & cheese & cream & plantains - what's not to like? It's been a while since I've had an arepa this good. Everyone here was kind and efficient. Surprised for the good ratings. Came into town early one Saturday morning and had some time to kill. Saw the good reviews. The people who take your order look at you with disdain. "Good morning" with no eye contact and a stern voice. The white young lady who took my order literally walked off and told me to grab my receipt from the printer if I wanted it (instead of handing it to me like a person with any kind of manners). I ordered a caramel Frappuccino. The coffee flavor was too strong and it was not nearly sweet enough (pretty sure a Frappuccino is not supposed to taste borderline bitter). It also was not creamy enough. They don't have sugar packets to add, but they will scornfully add sugar from one of their containers behind the counter (since they don't have anything out for customers to add) and you'll have to stir it with your flimsy straw because they do not have coffee stirrers. At a coffee place. No stirrers. They look at you like you're annoying them and are not friendly or helpful (at least the two ladies - the slim white one and another one with bangs). I was expecting a homey and welcoming place with the name of the business but it was industrial and cold cement all around, like the attitudes of the counter people. Zero customer service. My rating was brought up to 2 stars since the coffee was tolerable with more sugar (still didn't taste like caramel, though). read more

I was house sitting in Hollister for a week. I went to Yelp in search of a unique coffee spot. This place came up and it was within an easy walk. First day I went and ordered a Cortado with almond milk. Coffee was smooth and perfectly creamy. I could tell they use good quality beans. I enjoyed the coffee so much I returned another day. I ordered the same coffee but decided to try some food as the previous day I couldn't help but stare at the dishes the other patrons ordered. I went with something I had never had before, tajadas. I've been to both locations the San Jose Location is getting more popular since they recently opened in January 2026. The Hollister Location is good spot to get coffee and hangout and do some work. The drinks and food is expensive but they do make some good coffee drinks the Cortado is pretty delicious and the cold brews here are good too and they have more sugar free options flavor wise. Food on the other hand I would skip because it's nothing special and it's expensive. Some of the staff could use some training in customer service and be less rude to customers. read more

If you're looking for non-corporate coffee and a REAL cup of coffee, this is it. I had a 16oz coffee, beautifully strong and balanced with sweetness. We have been patronizing Cafe Con Leche since they opened their first brick and mortar on Monterey Street. We loved the customer service and chatting it up, with the girls behind the counter. Fast forward to their new location on San Benito street. Super modern, design. Coffee was still yummy, and got to still chat with the employees behind the counter. But the atmosphere has changed, and you now have to place your order via a kiosk. No more face to face interaction, with someone behind the counter. Instead you stand in line much longer, as people try and navigate the kiosk to place their order. I can say I am not the only one who isn't a fan. But wanted to put it out there in the event the owner reads these reviews and wants feedback. Best of luck. read more

The coffee was mediocre but the food was delicious. This is not a kid friendly coffee shop, they don't have high chairs and look at you weird thinking you won't clean up your child's mess. Overall I was disappointed with the service. Maybe this isn't a coffee shop for us, but we wanted to support a small local business. I don't think we will be back. Cafe con Leche was parked near my workplace one day, so I decided to give them a "shot!" (Sorry, couldn't help myself with the espresso pun). I ordered an iced S'mores latte, and it was delicious! The best part was the ACTUAL TOASTED MARSHMALLOW adorning the top :D The barista was friendly and made my drink in a snap! The day we showed up it was just us so seating was not an issue. This cafe shares a building with other offices and has additional seating options that I will attach a photo of. The first thing I noticed was the menu does not have any pricing listed. This alone almost stopped me from ordering from here, however, I decided it can't be that expensive and I really want a drink. I decided on the mango iced tea ($6) which was OK, but nothing to special. Service was good and when we asked about a military discount they offered us a 10% discount. The first time I had this was when they were at the farmers market in Salinas, I only bought their beans because my local roaster hasn't been able to sell their beans. I decided to drive the 50 minutes to Hollister to actually try their coffee and BOY was that drive WELL WORTH IT. Actually having the barista make their signature drink was literally heaven to my tastebuds, I ordered the iced caramel macchiato and also bought some beans so I can make coffee at home. A last minute decision to treat myself to a nice cup of coffee turned into finding a new favorite coffee place! I knew that Cafe Con Leche had started out with a small trailer off the local highway, but had never had the opportunity to try them out. They have moved into a permanent location across the street from the courthouse building. It is very clean, bright and inviting. Today I ordered a nonfat raspberry mocha. The owner, Diana, made my drink using the Mayan mocha. OMG. I think it's the best mocha I have ever had! Definitely my new favorite. Delicious!
