We came here, after finding out about them on social media. This restaurant is located in an industrial area of Capitol Heights, off of Ritchie Road. There is free parking, with limited spots that are shared with other businesses. There are a few seats for when you are waiting for your food but I didn't notice any tables for dining. When we arrived there was a food reviewer in there raving about the pancakes so, of course, we had to try them along with a few other items. I ordered the catfish and grits, which were EXCELLENT; Bae built a bowl, which included eggs, grits, and a few proteins; and we also ordered the chicken and pancakes; and a mango iced tea. Service was EXCELLENT!! Everyone was so kind, patient, and helpful. The food was also prepared quickly and was delicious! My only "complaint" is why would you make pancakes that taste soooo good and then serve cheap pancake syrup!?

Finally tried this place after seeing good reviews on social media. Staff was as friendly as they could be lol felt a little rushed and a guy taking the order was a little rude but that was expected. The scrapple was fried perfectly but soo thick so the inside was gooey. The eggs were a no and potatoes were old. Bacon, BLT and salmon BLT were good. The pancakes were just .. idk just look at the picture. Would I come back? Probably not but try it for yourself.

Breakfast heaven!! How they got the bitter in the brioche bread is incredible. Best breakfast sandwich in PG!!! Grits too!! Claim to fame here is the salmon grilled cheese and the steak and cheese PG style, I'd argue the breakfasts are the feature that win.

Hey friends! I came across this place on TikTok in the summertime and finally got a chance to try it today! I'm always excited to hear of a new Black Owned Business in the area. Cafe Curbside offers American comfort food and soul food options. I ordered the Shrimp Platter($17). I enjoyed it. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Fries were golden brown and seasoned well. My only distaste was that they only gave us four packets of ketchup for our order. My boyfriend ordered the Shrimp Po Boy($16) with a side of fries($4). He did not enjoy the Po Boy. He said that the missing lettuce and tomato were a distaste. He enjoyed the fries. Service was friendly! Interior is small. There are no tables available for dine-in. The festive decor for the holidays was a nice touch. Bathroom was out of order. Price point is affordable. The most expensive option was around $20 and least was $13. Parking is free and limited. I'll be back for sure to try some other menu items. Especially their fresh made juices and teas. Enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Why haven't I been to this spot?!?!?! Thankful again to Yelp I found this GEM when I was craving a breakfast sandwich. The staff here are so welcoming & amazing! I walked in and felt the positive and warm vibes along with receiving instant wonderful customer service. They definitely helped me with wanting to come back since I didn't realize their lunch menu too which some items can be made at breakfast too. I'm already indecisive lol but since I wasn't starving, I ordered an egg drop. EGG & CHEESE EGG DROP This sandwich is sooooooooo buttery and yummy OMGGGGGG! Bread is slightly toasted but yet still soft, the eggs are cooked perfect for me and the amount of cheese was well balanced. Even without protein this was SUPERB! BLUE INDIGO LEMONADE I had to try one of their lemonades and the name caught me. It's super sweet, for me I like my drinks not extremely sweet but if I add a bunch of ice and put it in the freezer I'm sure it will be perfect. I love all the options of flavors and teas they had. Parking is cool since there's a private lot but made on the weekdays it's busier. I'm coming back to try their viral SALMON GRILLED CHEESE. I'm definitely telling my friends!!

I wanted to try this place after seeing the reviews! I ordered online the night before with a pick up time of 7:15 AM and arrived at 7:25 AM . My food was packed and ready to go. I love that so much. The service was great, I paid thru the mobile site. So I walked in gave my order number along with my name then received my order. The food was so delicious and the eggs were so fluffy. I love fluffy eggs. The pancakes were VERY good they didn't need any syrup. I loved everything we ordered and again the customer service was very nice. The place was clean and green! I will definitely be back .

    Smothered Chicken Poutine

We ordered the Smothered Chicken Poutine, the Grilled Salmon sandwich, and the Chicken Wings and Waffle. The Smothered Chicken Poutine in that gravy was delicious with the red potatoes. The Grilled Salmon was loaded with salmon and the chicken and waffles had a nice seasoned twist. We will definitely be back for more!!!

My wife and I were hungry and wanted to go somewhere in the neighborhood. We heard about His & Hers…read moreand decided to stop by. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was completely empty. The cook was sitting at one of the tables and the waitress was behind the bar (they don't serve alcohol) hoping someone would come in. There is an upstairs and a downstairs. We did not go downstairs but I'm assuming there are plenty of seats like upstairs. We ordered the hangry breakfast, which came with French toast, eggs and potatoes, the salmon burger and the chicken & waffles. It's a good thing we ordered so much becaus the chicken and waffles only comes with 4 wingettes. We ordered water but were told they were out of ice. Instead my wife ordered a $4 CANNED SODA because that is the only thing they had cold. $4 for a can is insane by the way. Since we were the only ones in the establishment we expected the food to come quickly but that seemed to take 20-25 minutes as well. Our food eventually arrived. The French toast was good. Flavorful but small. Sandwhich bag slices of bread. The potatoes were clearly from the Walmart frozen foot section. The eggs were ok. My wife's waffle was cool however the chicken was BLAND and SEASONLESS. We didn't even finish them. For $18 I expected more. The salmon burger was by far the best thing there. A thick cut of salmon that was flavorful. We should have gotten two of those. The waitress was nice. The food is overpriced. I should have known when we walked in and the place was empty. Not sure how they stay open having brunch without alcohol but to each is own. One and done for me as a neighborhood guy. The food isn't great and the prices are high. No reason to return.

They don't have typical bacon or sausage because "the owners don't eat pork" which really sounds like something more appropriate for their house, and not their restaurant business on Rhode island ave. The "chicken sausage" was a shriveled up piece of chicken paste that they cooked in the microwave. I ordered scrambled eggs, and when they came out, they had that crust that scrambled eggs get when they sit out after being cooked. The grits were lumpy and outside of the cheese sauce they put on the top - had no flavor. The French toast tasted like milk eggs and burnt grill. And the pancakes, were very obviously pre made and microwaved. Additionally - the meal I ordered is listed to come with a bread, eggs, a side and a meat. I asked for bacon, and was told the owners don't eat pork. I asked for the chicken sausage.. 5 minutes later the server asked me if I wanted the sausage spicy or not. Then when she brought the bill, there was a $4 up charge for spicy sausage that she neither told me, nor was it on the menu. And to make matters worse - the sausages were not spicy and were actually just flat out nasty. This is a SAD excuse for a restaurant. I'm sad that I spent calories walking there and dollars eating there.

I visited Silver Diner in Glenarden for lunch this past Sunday with a friend. While I would return,…read morethe experience highlighted some service fundamentals that I hope management will consider addressing through additional training. We waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated, which was understandable during a busy lunch period. However, once seated, we waited another 15 minutes or so without being greeted or offered water. Having worked in food service myself, I believe one of the simplest ways to acknowledge guests is to touch the table quickly, even if the server is busy. A greeting and water communicate, "We see you, and we'll be with you shortly." This is especially important during the summer when guests may have already been waiting outside or in a crowded lobby. When we eventually asked for water, the response was essentially, "Oh, you wanted water?" That surprised me. Water should not feel like a special request at a full-service restaurant. Because of the delay, we placed most of our order at once. Unfortunately, nearly everything then arrived at once too: water, appetizers, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and other items. I had intentionally ordered two different drinks expecting to enjoy them at different points during the meal, but instead found myself with three beverages and food all competing for attention at the same time. Nothing about the server was rude. In fact, she was very sweet and pleasant, which is important to acknowledge. My concern is more about training, pacing, and attentiveness. A restaurant meal should feel like an experience, not simply an order being delivered to the table all at once. I was also surprised to see the suggested gratuity begin at 20%. I have no issue tipping well for good service, but when a restaurant prominently suggests that level of gratuity, I believe the service standards should consistently reflect it. Guests should feel cared for rather than feeling that a tip is expected regardless of the experience provided. Ultimately, I packed much of my meal and left sooner than anticipated. The food and overall concept are enough that I would absolutely give this location another opportunity, but the hospitality needs refinement. This review isn't intended to criticize one individual server. I hope management sees it as constructive feedback and an opportunity to reinforce some of the fundamentals: acknowledge the table, offer water promptly, communicate when there is a delay, and properly pace food and beverages. Sometimes the smallest hospitality touches make the biggest difference. I'd love to see this location get those details right.

I ordered the Mexican Caesar salad with salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we shared the wings and truffle fries, and neither disappointed. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. We had red velvet cake for dessert, served with strawberry ice cream. Those flavors paired well together and were a surprisingly delicious combination. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was good as well. There was no outdoor seating available, which looked like a great option for enjoying the scenery. We sat inside but stepped out onto the balcony to take pictures and take in the incredible views of Washington, D.C., and the Capitol. There's no smoke and mirrors here--the city views are stunning from here. The view alone makes this place worth a visit. While it is on the pricier side, the combination of great food, excellent atmosphere, and breathtaking scenery makes it well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend Smoke & Mirrors for a special night out and look forward to returning.

My only note for improvement would be the timing of when the food is brought out to the table. Another area for improvement was the frequency in which the waiter checked our table, especially since we had bottomless mimosas.
