Al Mueed is a PiTA kind of place. I'll get into that but the food ... God damn the food is pretty stellar. It's easily one of the top Pakistani bbq places in dfw for me. The other two being BK Khan in Dallas and then the venerable Cafe Acai in Frisco. Their bihari kabob is the best, and everything else is legit. You get the food fresh, grilled right there and the chutney dispenser is a capital idea. So what's the pain in the ass part? Seating, especially when it gets crazy busy on the weekends. It's like the real life version of fighting for a ticket for a Taylor Swift concert online and hoping to get lucky. It's part of the charm I guess? The other annoying thing is the food comes as it gets ready so you get one or two things but not everything. All that aside, service is basic since you counter order. They have people bussing tables and take home boxes are self serve. The place is big and it fills up as mentioned, again a testament to the food. read more

Came here and bought all the chicken dish's. Also bought one veg dish, as there not a lot of options. They mostly sell meat. Tired both spicy and regular chicken tikka. Both were ok, but not very spicy. The whole chicken skewers, were ok, not temperature hot. The chicken kabobs were hot and tasted ok. Tried the garlic naan but it was mostly covered with parsley. They really don't sell sides so we bought the one dish which had a couple of sides. Rice they sell is plain. Most food is ok and they seem to do good take out business. read more

This review is solely based on the food. We have been a few times and the food hits the spot every time! I have yet to try something that I don't like. We've gone with different groups of friends/family and it's been a hit with everyone. All the meats are tender and juicy. I always worry about chicken being dry but that is not the case here. The boti kebab's (chicken and beef) are my favorite, and second place is the seekh kebab. Their halwa puri mean is also so good. Good for groups if you can get a table. It's first come first serve so no reservations available. Service is good. Even though you don't have table service, the staff are really friendly and quick in cleaning up a table once one party leaves because they know that people are waiting to sit. It sucks that the hours of operation is limited so I'd love for them to be open for lunch, at least on the weekends. read more

The food is 5/5 This is easily the best Pakistani restaurant in Dallas, or at least it was when I was there. The food was amazing, the Bihari kebab was tender, the paratha was crispy and plentiful, their juices are amazing (incredibly sweet but so good), and their malai chicken was tender and flavorful. It is absolutely terrible eating inside. It is hot and humid and you will be sweating when it is busy. If there is any AC it is completely defeated by their open kitchen concept open grill. I'm not even sure how a restaurant like this can pass inspection, there are no ceiling fans at all. It's much nicer to eat outside, but there is a major fly issue. Whether you have food on the table or not, multiple flys will be coming and going off the table. Speaking of the table, they do not clean them boys properly. We took Lysol wipes and completely wiped down the table outside and not a single fly landed on it afterwards. That's disgusting. Regardless, they would have come when the food came out anyways. They have no fans outside, they don't have any fly fans on the table, no tiki sticks, nothing. It's a nice restaurant where you would expect nice service which is why people are giving this place a low rating. If it were a hole in the wall restaurant serving the same exact food, the service wouldn't be a problem. But the inside is nice so the expectation is that there will be working fans, ventilation, clean tables, etc. Overall, the food was amazing. I'd say solid 3.5 stars - great food but service is not easy to deal with. Overall, I'd def order from here again, but I do not recommend coming with large crowds unless you want to wait for a table and wait another 30-45 mins for your order only to also have to pick it up from the counter as well as your plates, drinks and utensils. It's def cafeteria style vibes.... But the bbq is actually legit! Def order the bihari kabobs, chicken tikka boti, malai boti yumm! I would pass on the seekh kabobs since they were tiny and kind of dry and lacked much flavor. Lassis took waaaay too long to get since they send it with rest of your order so def pass on that. I would like to try takeout and see how that tastes but bbq usually is best when fresh. I'd come here again for the bihari kabobs and chicken tikka if I'm in the area otherwise, I'd just stick to BK Khan where you get proper seating and dining experience for similar pricing. read more

Went here for the first time recently because of all the hype I am seeing about this restaurant these days. Restaurant was busy when we arrived. Floor and bathroom were dirty with trash. Trash were overflowing and was not getting emptied in a timely manner. A lot of stuff like, plates, utensils, etc., were running out quickly and the refill was slow with most of the time you have to tell them to do it. Pl This is a full, self service, type restaurant. You find your own table and get in line to order. After ordering, get your own plates, utensils, drinks, chutneys, drinks, tea, etc. After eating you can leave your trash at the table and/or take it to the trash can as it will not be picked up when you are eating. Once we were in the line, it took 20 minutes to get to the cashier to order. Then it took another 45 minutes for the food to come. I definitely suggest to go early. They make everything fresh after you order. Here is my review for the items we ordered: Chicken tikka - Leg, bone in - 8/10 - I liked it as it was nicely seasoned and juicy. Some of my family members thought it was little salty. Beef seekh - 3/10 - These are mini type of seekh kabobs and not the standard size. Although it was soft to eat I didn't find it tasty and thought it needed more seasoning and/or spice. Beef & Chicken malai boti - 6/10 - Both were good, but may need little more spice and cream to make it yummy. Paratha - 7/10 - These are standard puri parathas and it was good. Little hard to chew at times. However, charging $4 for these are hard to justify and very expensive in my opinion. Naan - 6/10 - Different style of naan and felt more like those frozen naans instead of the fresh that you do get at normal desi restaurants. Suji halwa - 9/10 - Really good as it wasn't as sugary as other desi restaurants will make their like. However, at $5 this was expensive to me as well. This restaurant was out of my way but I still went just to try it out. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way next time and will go to BK Khan instead as it is much closer to me and has more varieties than this restaurant. read more

VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A BEGGER!!! The food is amazing, the customer service is outstanding but the behavior of their so called manager is not acceptable. Take in account this place will not grow if the manager keeps treating paying customers like shit. She will randomly shout and misbehave, doesn't even understand English and is not helpful at all. When I visited, she was the one taking my order and she couldn't even get a simple order right, on top of that she yells at you in front of other customers, i felt so disrespected that this is going to be the last time me and my family visit Al Mueed. Had a very annoying experience. Called to place a pickup order and after going through it all she suddenly said she needed my card number and since I refused to share, won't place the order until I got there to pay. Like there's no way I'm going to share sensitive info through phone, I've cancelled my card way too often these days. And the whole point of calling to order is so it'd be ready by the time I get there so there's no point in getting food from there. I order food ALL THE TIME and this is the first time in at least 5 years that I've been asked to provide card details over phone before my order will be placed. I don't blame them for the delays since it was overcrowded. However, I think they should consider adding more cashiers and staff. This was my first time here and we tried the beef Bihari boti and chicken malai boti, rice and naan. The flavors were amazing and the meat was so tender. Service is excellent! Everyone was so helpful and friendly with helping us decide what to get. And the halwa dessert was perfect to end the meal. We will definitely be back!! read more
