The food was okay and rice portions generous. It can trend towards the bland side but not to that point. They do include a hot sauce to supplement the taste if you can handle spicy. The location is quite hidden and just terrible ergonomics for parking. It's almost like they don't people to come and really just open perhaps as a means to a country-status end. This food is so delicious. I had the salt and pepper shrimp and the vegetarian chow mein. It is mouth watering good. I think the salt n pepper shrimp is the best that I've ever had. We flew all the from chicago just to try this halal Chinese restaurant, and it did not disappoint. -Mongolian beef (thinly sliced beef with perfect seasoning). -schezuan chicken (found some peppercorns I had to take out for my son, but other than that this dish tastes amazing). -mushroom chicken (on the lighter side, served up with carrots and mushrooms in a saucy oyster sauce). -sweet and sour chicken (deep fried chicken cubes with a sweet sauce to pour over, along with some pineapples and onions.) served with white rice. This location has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, and currently still suffers from their customer's nostalgia for their old location, however they've managed to work with what they have. Well known for their impromptu "party" dining area and now a simple lunch buffet, they've really made something out of what was originally was nothing. The staff here have changed somewhat over the years, but I can say with a guarantee that both the owners and the Muslim man who works there have been consistently polite, available and hard working. They understand they're not perfect, but they try their best to be there. The food quality here has slowly improved over the years, enough so for people to have their own favorite menu items (rather than what's edible), and turn around times have been getting more acceptable as well. My particular favorites are the Three Treasures Fried Rice and the Mongolian Beef, but if it's your first time I'd definitely look into trying their buffet. I've got to admit though, I'm one of those nostalgic customers, because I've yet to have a meal here as good as it was in Plano. I've been coming here often but inconsistently over the years for everything from a quiet lunch to a business dinner, and they've slowly built up and kept a reputation suitable for their long history in this area, and for Halal restaurants in this community. Came here during Ramadan with the family really looking forward to the food after not eating all day. Food was mediocre at best for what they had as part of their Iftar Buffet. Food was never served in full trays so it kept running out. Once certain items ran out, they did not replenish it. We ordered a couple soups (hot & sour, and egg drop) that came out extremely bland - tasted like just boiled water. The fried chicken was not bad but not something that will take me back. My family and I have been a loyal customer to Crescent Moon for several years now. It's a good place to dine in if you're craving Chinese Food. They do serve halal meat which is a plus for me. The owner is very nice and always very welcoming. He usually comes to ask if everything is okay which I really appreciate. The setup is contemporary as advertised and the staff does a good job keeping the dining area clean. The bathroom needs some work though. I have tried almost everything on their menu but i do have my favorites. The chef's special hot and sour and the three treasure wonton soups are amazing! For appetizer, I recommend the cheese puffs or the crispy chicken wings(can request original or spicy). For entree, I like the Mongolian beef/chicken, Szechwan chicken, Black pepper chicken, fried rice or chow mein (chicken, shrimp, beef or combo) and the walnut shrimp. Most of the time I do end up getting takeout from here even though the food tastes better when dining in. Also for some reason, they don't always maintain the quality when you get takeout. For example, they over cook the fried rice and make it too dry. The walnut shrimp is always soggy when you get takeout so I recommend only ordering fried food when dining in. During the fasting month of Ramadan they have a great Iftar buffet to open your fast with. Several options are available including tea and desserts. The restaurant fills up really fast because the price charged per person is really fair for the variety served. So try to get their early if you want a table inside. They also have two private rooms which you can reserve and hold special events such as birthdays. They have allowed us to bring our own decorations for my son's birthday and the service was good. read more

I wish there was an option to chose 0 star. We had enjoyed the food with the original owner but this new management is unprofessional, Arrogant, and extremely rude. The owner had missed my order I had placed for iftar and instead of accepting his mistake, he had an audacity to lie that my wife had called back and cancelled the order. Instead of taking my order and offer to prepare it, he simply turned his face to other direction. Had a launch party of almost 50 people at Crescent Moon, Halal restaurant. Even though we were a large party but the restaurant did a great job of managing a large group. The owner, Mr. Burhanul Islam was very professional can courteous. He tended to all the needs. The food was very fresh and delicious. Everyone enjoyed all the dishes and it turned out to be very memorable after the Nikha party of my nephew. I highly recommend this place. read more

After going to 2 places with good reviews and getting there and them not having fried chicken wings I found this place. Drove the extra 4 miles and sure enough they had chicken fried rice and fried chicken wings....look the service I received was very nice, seemed like the guy must have been the owner. The food was horrible. As some have said, it was "bland" no flavor. Definitely the worst fried rice I've ever had and the wings again no flavore and they battered them in a fluffy batter that again was bland and just didn't taste good. I went back to eat here again and realized that the menu has changed a little bit(they added more items, still the same owner). I ordered Singapore rice noodle(Stir fried rice noodle with curry flavor, vegetables and I asked mine to be only shrimp and no meat). I've had Singapore rice noodle many times before from other restaurants, so I knew what I was getting. I was so surprised that the portion was so big and it was so delicious. Like I said before, everything I've ordered at this restaurant has been really good and this place is PACKED, especially after the prayer sessions have been let out at the Mosque right behind the strip mall. So my family comes here often. Like once a week almost. Our typical Friday/Saturday night conversation goes Dad: "what's for dinner?" Bros: "Crescent moon??? Please?!" It's turned into our go-to spot because it's healthy (in comparison to regular Chinese eateries that use MSG, corn syrup in EVERYTHING) and it's halal. It's tucked away in the shopping center, and the chairs may be a bit too closely placed together but that doesn't stop my family. Friday afternoons it's packed with everyone coming from the Masjid (mosque) nearby. I think I've tried a good chunk of the menu: -Hot and Sour soup: can be spicy but I like it. Lots of chunks of tofu. -Veggie egg rolls: we used to get the chicken, but switched to veggie (matter of preference). They put some ground spices in it so they're not your standard egg roll. Condiments for dip are already on the table. -Chicken Gyoza (potstickers) - my sister liked them, they were crunchy but the top was a little too doughy for me. -Chicken/lamb cho mein: my parents' favorite choices. They like noodles and veggies with meat. Solid choice. -Orange chicken: my littlest brother ALWAYS gets this. And sometimes we all try to eat from his plate (cause it's sooo good) and then we alway end up ordering him another one cause we forgot to share. Sorry not sorry bro. -Honey walnut shrimp: my other brother orders this every time. Too sweet for my liking (and deep fried) so I only steal 1-2pieces. -T11, Assorted vegetables with Shrimp - a light brown sauce based dish. Veggies included squash, bokchoy, onion, mushrooms, green peppers, and more. It was colorful and delicious. -salt and Pepper Lamb - Tasted good but is a dry rub based meal. Don't order this if you're expecting a saucy meal - curry chicken - yellow curry based, tasty as well. Has bell peppers. - plain fried rice - only has egg in it. Tasted pretty light for fried rice but tasty as well. $2.00 upcharge with your meal. -steam rice - included on your meal. They will give you heaping bowls of it. We always have leftovers. A little sticky but perfect complement to the meal. Note: dishes are typically made spicy due to the high number of Paki/Indian customers. We always ask for NO SPICY since my family can't handle even one red pepper flake lol. Togo orders: they give them in high quality plastic boxes. I've gotten so many I end up reusing them for other things. Service: very quick to refill our waters. they even pack your leftovers for you. 5stars since we keep coming back! I had the orange chicken lunch special. This included white rice (or fried rice), your choice of soup, and veggie spring roll. I also had an order of spicy wings. Wings were very good. Very crispy and with a kick. Nothing too spicy though, which I'm grateful for. The hot and sour soup was alright. Loved the crackers that they serve with the soup. The orange chicken was excellent. The chunks of meat are pretty big and are all white meat, which is a big plus for me. The only shortcoming was the occasional orange rind. The owner is phenomenal, very nice and very courteous. He was always checking on other customers to make sure everything was going well. And plus, this is a zabihah halal joint, which is a big plus. read more

We order the Beef low mein , combination rice and Mongolian beef. The noodle were the flat noodle so didn't like the taste. It tasted too old and very soft. The combination rice was too dry and didn't have a taste. The Mongolian beef was ok. Overall didn't like the food taste. I read reviews if you eat indoor the food taste better so will try that. They just started serving an Arabic breakfast from 6:30 to 11:30 and it is absolutely amazing. I only wish I'd taken pictures before I ate. I'll come back and get them next time. Delicious fresh cheese pies and fresh spinach pies, but my FAVORITE is the home made honey almond croissant. Simply heavenly! read more
