I was so excited to try this Cute place but unfortunately I was disappointed with the customer service this Saturday morning. The wht girl working the front literally put me on hold two times not even to be helping anyone else. The second time it was to count out her tip jar . Disappointed to say the least. Also my drinks were meh.. . I was highly motivated to try this place because the name and the menu had me thinking it was going to be my new favorite place I was already planning on making it for my regular morning stop on my way to work but unfortunately it wasn't what I hoped , there was another brwn girl who eventually took over my order where the white girl left off . Wow for a first timer I loved everything from the friendly staff to the tasty bread. The second you walk in it smells so good and you are greeted with a smile. I got a Cuerno and muffin banana and they were soooo soft and yummy. I also got a 20oz cafe de olla for my sibling and for myself, a 16 oz Pistachio frappe substituted with almond milk. Well I was there this morning around 8:30 am, so me and my wife travel around looking for new breakfast spots and so we decided to have Cafe de Olla today. Upon arriving the host was nice and seated us immediately upon entering the restaurant. We looked at the menu and were deciding on what to get, so the waitress gave us few minutes before we made up our minds on what to get. I ordered the steak and eggs plate because I'm a big fan of the ribeye steak so I decided to go with that and my wife ordered the chilaquiles with the Pasillas sauce. When the waitress brought our order out to us the wife's plate looked amazing but when I received mine I could tell that the steak was not cooked properly, I had ordered medium rare but when I received it, I could tell that the steak was undercooked and too salty. The potatoes had no presentation and looked as if they had been sitting in the kitchen for some time with no flavor. I was really disappointed when I left and couldn't believe that I had just eaten the steak the way it was cooked!! Even my wife was grossed out that I had eaten my food looking that way!!!! Cafe de olla is one of the breakfast spots we have been going to lately. I love the variety in their menu. I always pick from the healthy options, and it never disappointed. The wait can be long. The cafe de Lola is my favorite. I went in for a coffee and left with cafe de Lola and about a million pastries. Definitely will go back- hopefully when I have time to dine and try the chillequilles. read more

Except for finding parking, I love this place! I have always had top notch service, + one of the hostesses is very sweet. I always bring home the mini pecan pies, even tho they're pricey. They serve a lot of food, which is great bc I look forward to another meal from one. read more

The French fries were extremely under cooked. Very soggy and limp. No crunch at all. The food was overpriced but other than the fries it wasn't bad. The place was packed so I guess it's generally good. This was first time trying it and I ordered a veggie sandwich and pablano soup to go. While the store decor looked great. I did not care for the cafe de olla. The taste of Clove was strong, it may have been some other ingredient but I was unable to fish my drink. I also got a burrito and it was meh, more tortilla than anything. Seems like they used an x-large tortilla with minimal food inside. I also grabbed some pan dulce and that was okay. The caramel latte cold... was not good. Lacked the flavor of the caramel .. a whole lot of milk was poured into the cup and not enough coffee it seems. The Mexican Cookie.. chocolate. Also not good. Had an off taste like a raisin or some added ingredient I never really taste in other Panaderia spots. The service was ok.. but there was a lot of NO answers because they don't serve or have many options on the drinks from what it may seem. Happy to visit a coffee shop that isn't Starbucks. It felt like a small neighborhood panadería with a modern makeover. I am happy to report there are names and descriptions on the bread and pastry selection. However, no prices indicated yet. I paid $25.24 for two muffins, two cuernos chapines, one 12oz iced hazelnut latte, and 10% tip. The cost of the latte was $6.75, it was made quickly and it was delicious! There were about three or four other guests at the same time but the quick customer service kept the place from getting too crowded. They have a select breakfast menu with burritos and sandwiches, I'll try one of those next time. They also have birthday cakes and pies. Those do have prices and descriptions next to them. I noticed they also have branded T-shirts and cap for the die hard fans lol. I'm excited to visit again soon. read more

I had the most awful experience today. I researched online for a good Mexican cafe that is authentic. I read their reviews, read the menu items etc. I hyped myself up and everything. I love cafe de olla and it is on of my favorite drinks aside from champurrado and It was awful. It was more than a day old and not authentic at all. It just tasted like a powdered cinnamon tea. They didn't even use canela or piloncillo (the main ingredients)I spent a lot too because I also bought a burrito and some pan dulce that wasn't even fresh. I want my $ back! read more

The wait for this place was extremely long. Waited over 1 hr to be seated, my food was cold. Definitely not worth the wait.

The breakfast burrito came with 3 sauces and was worth the try but could be hotter temp wise. The pastries were fresh and tasty. There's no seating since inside space is pretty small. Disgusted by this place, we waited over an hour to get in and another hour to get our food , A 18% gratitude was automatically added to our bill, which I was confused about. We were a party of 4. I always leave a cash tip however I payed with a card the $150 with tip included as it was already added to the bill, I check my account today and it looked like tip them selfs another $15 dollars. I really want to love this location but received unfriendly customer service. I spent $20 for 2 drinks and unfortunately was not worth it. I ordered a matcha latte with matcha cold foam and a cafe de olla latte with vanilla cold foam. Normally I don't mind being patient with new locations but the barista had the worst attitude! She made my two drinks wrong and then got upset when I requested it to be fixed. First, the matcha didn't have any cold foam. Then she called out "vanilla latte" and looked at me as if it was mine. I told her I ordered a cafe de olla latte and she looked annoyed at me, added something and then gave it back to me. She never exchanged any words to me but from her body language I could tell she was upset. I'm sorry but if you work at a place called cafe de olla and should not be upset if a customer wants their cafe de olla. Unfortunately both of the cold foams didn't have any flavoring even though it was supposed to be flavored. I think the barista hates her job and this is not the place for her. The other employee was fine but I could tell he was frustrated working with her too. This was on 4/27 around 10:30 am. I'm sharing these details to let the owner know. read more
