World class code shop for your morning caffeine fix. Great pastry fresh baked at back of the store not frozen stuff . Their matcha is amazing too. Great service and lots of parking lot available

Cafe De Olla Bakery is conveniently located next to Club Pilates, my workout spot. While I am very happy about this (I love Cafe de Olla in Monrovia), getting coffee and a pastry post-workout might very well become my routine if I don't exercise enough self-control! Like some of the reviews already mentioned, this location is more of a "grab and go" type of place. They have a solid selection of cakes, pastries, and drinks. If you are looking for their full breakfast menu, the Monrovia location down the street is where you would want to go! When I visited, they were celebrating their 1-year anniversary with an outside table of samplers. They had a balloon arch outside to signal to the community that they are celebrating something special as well. The lady out front shared with me what they had to offer, and she also mentioned that they do catering! I like my coffee strong but also on the sweet side. When I asked for the stronger option, I was recommended to get the cappucino rather than the latte and they can make the caffeine a little bit more concentrated without sacrificing the flavor. The cookies were a little dry for my taste but maybe it was because the samplers were sitting outside for a little too long. I would go back just to try the breakfast sandwich, but the experience of grabbing food was pretty fast and the food was flavorful enough! Excited to have a closer Cafe de Olla to me and wishing them so much success!

Had a good experience at Cafe De Olla Bakery. The food was good and flavorful especially the chilaquiles, which were perfectly sauced and topped with eggs cooked just right. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were generous. The crunch factor on these were to my liking :) The breakfast plate with machaca was also good, and the desserts were good. The flan was smooth and rich, and the cake was light and not overly sweet. The pastry cart was such a fun touch and really added to the overall experience just wish it would have come out sooner instead of us having to wait another 10 minutes for our pastries. The only downside was with the coffee service. What we ordered at the bar wasn't consistent with what we were brought during refills, and we had already paid for our mugs upfront. Unfortunately, the waitress tried to charge us again without asking, which was a bit frustrating.m because we had to wait for her to correct it and we were trying to leave. Overall, good food just a small hiccup with service and coffee. I'd still come back and give it another try.

Cafe De Olla Bakery a block away from my house? You've got to be kidding me! Absolutely can't believe that my waistline is going to increase now that it'll be so convenient for me to go grab a slice of their delicious Matilda Chocolate Cake. SCORE! This location is more of a "grab and go" type of place for coffee and pastries. It is unlike their Monrovia location where it is a sit-down establishment with a full food and beverage menu, so do expect cozy and cute, not a dine-in place to bring your date. I did felt a tad awkward when I walked in at first because the gentleman behind the counter probably thought I was weird in there snapping photos, so he did looked at me kind of funny. But after letting him know I was there for the first time since finding out on Yelp of this second location, he made small talk and was super friendly. I highly recommend stopping by Cafe de Olla when you're nearby!

We finally stopped by the bakery in Duarte to sample their signature beverage and pan dulce. Their cafe de olla, was served hot, a nice blend of cinnamon and sweetness. We bought an elote, tortuga and can't recall the third piece of pan, and alfajores. The elote was delicious, I love that you can see little specs of cinnamon, soft and tender and vanilla scent. The tortuga was a bit more spongy, fragrant, and nice balanced of sweetness. The alfajores were buttery, crisp and smeared with dulce de leche. I needed a bday cake and decided to order the strawberry shortcake, because it looked so pretty. The cake was a hit with the family. The frosting was super light, the filling is one layer of custard and the other of light whipped cream and berries. The sponge is moist, the cake is not sweet, but decadent in its creamy texture. The inside of the store is aesthetically appealing, traditional glass cases showcase the pan. I'm so glad to have a nearby bakery and cake shop!

Came here cuz I wanted a latte and realized it is the same company that's on Myrtle in Monrovia.... I ended up buying a bunch of pastries for my coworkers....and they all loved it.... Awesome place to go....I noticed they have some meal items like breakfast burritos may have to come back for! The employees were awesome and friendly..... Definitely would come back!!!!

From my experience if your looking for a place to grab a piece of cake or a whole one this could be the spot. Don't forget the case of pan dulce they have. I picked up a Banana nut muffin. Nice and moist muffin, very good. The cafe de olla was piping hot. So watch out. Looks like they also do breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Service was great everyone was very helpful. Small little spot for take out. Plenty of parking. Don't get confused and think this is the one in old town Monrovia because this just a bakery.

Nice and clean bakery and drinks. Such a cute style to display pastries. If you just want a slice of any of these cakes they also have that available. Next time I will come for a drink!

Where do I begin !?!? Cafe de olla exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and our waiter hector was very hospitable. The ambiance easily takes me back to a family owned Mexico City restaurant. The pan dulce is made in house which is good so you know they don't put out bread from the day before. You can see that this place is ran very well and professional. I got a cafe de olla (no pun intended) and it was one of the best cafe de olla's I've ever had, if not the best. It was sweet and you were able to taste the cinnamon. The Sinaloa combination really surprised me. In my house hold we fry the tamale and not a lot of people do that. So when I saw my plate with 2 fried tamales, I had a huge smile on my face. Very nostalgic feeling. The beans were ok, but nothing bad. Tasted like typical refried beans. The chilaquiles were the star of the plate. The salsa verde had lots of flavor and tasted like chilaquiles from Mexico. A little kick of lime, which comes from the tomatoes. Will order again when I come back. My friend got the waffle, which she almost finished, even though she said she was going to take half of it home. I think that goes to show you how good the waffle was ! Overall experience was 9.3/10. Only complaint is that I wish my food was a little bit more on the hotter side. It was warm and i personally like my food hot. Will be back again Thank you so much cafe de olla! ¡Volveré y con más hambre aun!

    Iced Cafe De Olla

You order then grab and go out the door and I'm sure if you enjoy this type of coffee you'll be back for more. But first a quick fuuun fact alert! Did you know that this drink dates back to the Mexican revolution in 1910? Well I did not know that so this fact is for me too. Ok so if you're not familiar with this tasty drink, it's made by brewing cinnamon and piloncillo in a clay pot giving it its unique earthy flavor. So if that reads like your jam then get sum man! I ordered an iced Cafe De Olla to go and after my first sip I wasn't disappointed. After all it is their specialty right! They have pastries to go with your coffee so that's a score and makes for a tasty twosome. The service was ok and I'm not going to say it but I just have to. When you have a certain age group running things it loses that welcome factor to put it nicely. Then again I'm there for the coffee and it's to go stuff other than that it's a cool little bakery that has you on your way on the fly. Parking can be challenging on certain times but that's almost always the case. That's my take, Peace

Luckily, today I was in the area with my best friend to get a massage, and it was only about 10 minutes away from where we were, so we decided to stop by. The egg tarts here were honestly as good as people had said they were. They were delicious, and I especially loved how affordable they were. The staff was also very nice, and the restroom was so clean. The parking sign said that parking was free for 2 hours, but we only stayed for about 10 minutes to grab and eat our egg tarts. My friend said that after parking there, she met the owner of a restaurant next door, who told her that the parking is actually only free for 1 hour. Either way, we left after about 10 minutes because it was almost time for our massage appointment. Today, I bought 2 egg tarts for my friend, and I also bought 6 more to take home and enjoy with my family tomorrow morning. While we were there, my friend and I each ate one, and they were really delicious! I definitely think I'll come back again the next time I'm in this area.

They always have a good variety of cakes and they're are always fun to look at. Though I myself am not a cake fan, their cakes are pretty good (a little sweet by Asian standards). They have fun and interesting flavors, and make seasonally themed cakes which are super cute. In my opinion, their egg tarts are the real find, as they're inexpensive and delicious. They make several different types of egg tarts, including a regular one (canto style) and Portuguese style. There's a nearby parking lot, and there is some seating at this spot (some outdoors).
