FOOD POISONING!!!!!!! We had gone here a few times and it was okay but this last time my son and husband were the only ones that ate sushi for dinner and both got food poisoning!!!! Be careful!!! Do not go there!! My husband ended up in the hospital and I called them to let them know that the sushi gave both my husband and son food poisoning and they didn't want to take responsibility!!! I love coming here so so much. They know what I want as soon as I walk in. They have the best boba and their late night hours make it possible for me to get sushi AND boba whenever I want to. All of their sushi and food is so good and reasonably priced. My usual order is takoyaki and either goldfish, spicy nemo, or spicy yellow tail roll with a black milk tea with boba. Very small restaurant that serves sushi pretty darn cheap. Not the best sushi, but for the price, it's worth it! First time I ever had the Takiyaki? It's an octopus fish ball? Pretty good! Crispy outside and soft inside. I use to love the crispy tofu. Now it's ehh. Honey green tea with extra lime was pretty refreshing. I ordered almond milk tea with boba. Boba was ok, but I liked the almond milk tea. Service was good. Our server smiled as she took our orders. Food came out looking really appealing and warm (Takiyaki was hot hot hot). I love this place! I've always wanted to have a go-to place where the owner and employees know me, and I'm so glad this is one of them. I'm pretty sure they start making our boba tea smoothies as soon as we walk through the door- sometimes I throw them a curve ball and change up my order, but for the most part I stick with my wintermelon 1/2 sugar smoothie. This is also a top choice for late night sushi for my boyfriend and me. The portion sizes and prices are very reasonable, and the sushi is always delicious. While I've never dined-in, we've always had great, friendly service. I'm so glad this place is close to home! read more

On a whim, my husband and I stopped in for dinner. I love the little paper bowl they gave us for the edemame shells--creative! My Spicy Salmon salad was delicious with a creamy sauce and perfectly-cut cucumbers; I could easily eat it with chopsticks. I also really enjoyed the Hot Jasmine tea, a generous serving. My husband likes his Seared Tuna Salad, which was quite flavorful and generous portions. This place is always reliable, and very affordable. The boba is probably one of the best in the city, and the sushi is pretty decent. Definitely not where you would go for fresh sashimi and higher quality fish, but for delicious cheap rolls then yes! This place is pretty busy most of the time, and I went with a big group, so we were able to call in ahead of time to order. Great and attentive service, and they are very efficient. This is one of my favorite late-night places to eat at! The servers are extremely nice and love to joke around. I've been here so many times during my nighttime sushi cravings that they know my name and my 'usual' order, which is the takoyaki, spicy salmon, and wintermelon bubble tea! The best thing about their sushi rolls is that they give you soooo much fish for a super reasonable price! I highly recommend this place! This is probably my favorite sushi restaurant in Edmond. The food is excellent, fresh, and the menu has a large variety available. My favorite/recommended items are: -Tuna Salad -Takoyaki -Crazy Lady Roll -Samurai Roll -Spicy Nemo Roll -Jungle Roll -Sparkling Roll That being said I've never had a sushi roll I didn't enjoy. OK. All these reviews are ridiculously outdated. Within the past year, Cafe de Taipei came under new management and revamped their menu to offer a decent selection of sushi. While retaining their extensive selection of boba/bubble/milk teas, they're removed all Taiwanese dishes from their menu. If you're a sushi fan, you're in for a real treat. If you're not, well, there are always gyoza to keep your munchies at bay. I'm a huge sushi fan and so Taipei's new menu offerings work completely in my favor. My friends.. well, not so much. Although I do miss quite a few of Taipei's old Taiwanese dishes, it is what it is. While their sushi menu does not offer a wild selection of rolls laden with heavy sauces and ingredients piled upon ingredients like other "Asian fusion" sushi bars, it does offer a few notable choices. I always recommend the Taipei roll (calamari topped with spicy mayo and crawfish) and the Volcano roll (california rolls topped with spicy scallops). The basic spicy salmon roll is another go-to favorite of mine. It's cheap and satisfying. The vibe of Taipei is extremely casual. The decor is very minimalistic and almost non-existent. It's really the ideal setting for a college-aged crowd. It's not the largest restaurant with a total of 6 tables, each seating up to 4-5 people. The service is top notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and the sushi chef always has something to suggest. While no longer open until late 2am from Thursday - Saturday (now up until 1am), Taipei is a great late night spot for cheap sushi and great bubble tea. read more

Pretty basic bubble tea and Asian snack joint. The bubble tea is mediocre, but the popcorn chicken, deep-fried calamari, and beef noodle soup definitely make up for it. AHH i used to go here all the time when I was back in Edmond. One of the few places in oklahoma where you can get your boba tea (bubbletea) fix! And a good bubble tea at that! I tried many flavors (strawberry, peanutbutter, kiwi, orange(? i think), and some more that I can't remember quite right now) and they were all excellent. I live in LA now but I still think Cafe De Taipei had one of the best bubbleteas around. I also think their popcorn chicken is to die for. It's really yummy! Also there was a huge variety in the menu (or there used to be... seems like they trimmed it down alot last time I went). I was sad to see they got rid of some stuff on the dish I had for a long time! I think they got rid of the boiled egg and some other element of the dish and I remember being like 'where's mah egg??' Of course this was around 8 months ago so I don't remember what it was but the food cost the same (if not more) but the amount was less. :/ much sadness. The boba/bubbletea was still good as ever, although I feel really fat after drinking them haha. They are like a meal of their own. Food is decent. Milk tea with BOBA is phenomenal. Service is the slowest, most inefficient service I've ever experienced. I understand there is a language barrier, but we went in and ordered calamari as an appetizer and it took 30 minutes. It took 45 minutes before we got our milk tea and an hour before we got our sushi. It's not a big place and people that arrived thirty minutes after we arrived had eaten and left before we even got our food. It was quite frustrating. At the end of the meal we got the bill and it was ridiculously over priced. I have been here before and it wasn't bad, but I will NOT be back. I recommend staffing a waiter who can communicate a bit better with customers. Delicious, relatively cheap, and always beautifully presented food Cafe De Taipei has not disappointed me once. Since moving to Edmond it had been a struggle finding any good food places open past 9pm but this gem is open late and has delicious sushi and bubble tea to boot! The staff is friendly but limited and they take the time to make their food and drink both appear and taste delicious so it is a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it. This place could be very successful but due to bad management, this place has hit the glass ceiling. The owner who is the sushi chef can't seem to delegate. Production is always slow and customer service from the other staff members are always rude like. Maybe it's the culture, I get it. Lots of passive agressive notes all over the walls banning kids from acting up and there are always a bunch of people waiting for their orders. Food is on point and that's the only reason why I even consider coming back. Also beware, one particular short hair boy like will always short change you. Don't even bother tipping the minimum 15%. I was so surprised when my sister was here from Houston it was 12:30am and we were starving!! We were driving down Broadway in Edmond to see what was open,saw a small sign in a small strip mall next to Whataburger. Decided to stop and make sure they were open. I'm so glad we did!! This is my go to boba spot in Edmond. The sushi is great, and the boba is yummy. My most favorite boba is the jasmine green tea. Iced. No toppings. You can't find this flavor anywhere else. The cheesy milk cap and the flan is really yummy if you're not worried about calories. The best sushi are spicy Nemo, boomstick, lobster roll, fusion, and the salmon salad. The popcorn chicken and some of the appetizers are wonderful. If they are busy, it's a bit of a wait. The staff are super friendly and personal. Small place, so it gets very crowded sometimes and seating is limited. This place is opened from 5pm to 1am. That's a plus if you're having nightly cravings. :) read more

The place is small, cozy. The food is great. I can really taste the freshness in the fish, for real. Last night we ordered the Spicy Nemo rolls, it has fresh salmon on the outside and I loved every bites of it. The drink is okay, imo. I always order almond milk tea and honey lemon green tea, not bad but nothing really special. We also ordered Takoyaki. I loved it but my fiance doesn't like that much.
