Discovered this place through ClassPass surprisingly. I had a bunch of credits expiring and wanted to use them on dinner one night and this place had excellent reviews. Boy was I so glad to find Cafe du Liban! Going to be a regular from now on. I ordered for pick up so I can't speak on service quite yet but there's quite a bit of seating for a few small parties inside. The food tastes delicious and is made fresh to order. Portions are generous as well. My highest recommendation is to order the Baba Ghanoush because WOW. It's so good I could cry. When I tell you I ate this entire bowl by myself. I ate it with the saj, i ate it with my rice, i ate with tortilla chips. Insane.

Met a friend today at Cafe Du Liban and had a lovely lunch! I arrived first and was welcomed and allowed to wait at a table. I let the staff know that I was meeting someone and wanted to take a look at the menu. I was given a printed menu to review while I waited. When my friend arrived, we both decided to get the Falafel Salad. Well...we should have gotten one to share because the portion was very generous. I took a lot home with me! Both of us really enjoyed the salads. We also shared an order of Cheese Pies, which were absolutely delicious. At the end of the meal, we were given complementary baklava, which was so lovely and appreciated. While we were there, I noticed several people picking up to go orders, so great to know that take out is an option. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I look forward to returning again to try additional items on the menu. The kabobs looked absolutely amazing and will probably be next on the list to try.

This place is so unassuming, but super cute on the inside. I ordered a chicken salad for takeout and it was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of pickles and turnips - it was such a healthy portion! The chicken on the salad was super yummy! Not boring at all and the portion was nice. The dressing was delicate, not too oily and had great flavor. The pickles and turnips were so crunchy and delicious. Overall, the ingredients tasted so fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The gentleman who helped me with my order when I arrived was very friendly and happy to assist me. I had always heard Cafe Du Liban was good, and now I know it's true! I will definitely be back!

I was holiday shopping and did not realize that I did not eat. How lucky I was. I saw Cafe Du Liban from across the parking lot. The second line in their sign says simply Mediterranean, so I knew I was in for something very tasty and healthy at the same time. They have a really good menu board. I had a gyro which was really good. The meat was ground and processed but the over all taste and freshness was excellent. I was hoping for chunks of grilled meat like from a kabob. I ordered a side of hummus. The gyro came carefully wrapped, keeping it together so it didn't fall apart before I finished. The staff here are really friendly and offered me pita or lavash for the wrap. How nice. Will try lavash next time. The hummus was spectacular. Just eat the warm pita before it goes cold because it gets a little stiff. I will definitely come back.

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine at the heart of Tarzana. The kababs (chicken & beef) were juicy and freshly grilled. The humus and baba ghanosh were creamy. Service had a friendly and accommodating ambiance. To top it off - it's price friendly!

I stated of with the house salad and let me tell you!! Mouthwatering this salad didn't test like a normal salad so much flavor in it! Then went to the chicken and beef kebab beef 100% hands down was amazing chicken right there with it. It had so much juice to it customer service was incredible. Parking it's OK if it was busy because the shopping center is here it's harder to park. The environment was calm. Just because we did go early in the morning right when they opened. But if you do go here, make sure you bring a jacket or a sweater because it is freezing cold.

My friend and I were looking for a delicious Mediterranean option in the area and decided to try Cafe Du Liban. A "Good Food Quickly" dining establishment located in a busy strip mall section off Ventura, Cafe Du Liban is a hidden gem in Tarzana, serving up amazing cuisine for 20 years. The entrance is fairly nondescript, but once you enter, you immediately see the open kitchen, order counter, and about a dozen tables and booths for diners to enjoy this elevated (but relaxed) casual cuisine. The staff were extremely friendly and answered a few questions we had about the menu items, specifically the Chicken sandwiches which offered wrap options of Pita and Laffa breads. He explained that he prefers the Pita Bread option as the Laffa is a bit thinner and actually priced $5 more. We each decided to take his recommendation and also ordered some vegetarian Cheese Pies as a starter. Also, check in through Yelp and you will receive 20% off your order! A nice perk. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes for the freshly made Cheese Pies to arrive. These came out piping hot, and actually forced us to wait for the temperature to cool off, or else risk burning the inside of your mouth. These were definitely worth the wait and avoiding the risk of "top of mouth burn." Served five to an order ($10), the filo dough is wonderfully crispy and soft once you hit that gooey blended cheese center. Absolutely delicious and a great appetizer to share. A few moments later, our Chicken Sandwiches ($12) arrived. The Chicken sandwiches were a pretty good size, filled with grilled chicken, tomatoes, pickles, and a very robust garlic sauce, wrapped in a delicious pita bread. The filling-to-bite ratio was spot on, with great sweet, garlic and savory bites a-plenty. The person who took our order, along with a fellow staff member, checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was satisfactory, which I thought showed great attention and care about making the experience match the amazing homemade flavor of the food. The bathrooms were also very clean and well-stocked. Parking is free out front, with plenty of availability, even during the lunchtime rush. I would highly recommend Cafe Du Liban and agree with a lot of the 5-star ratings here. It's always amazing to find delicious homemade Lebanese cuisine anywhere in Southern California, but to also have wonderful service, an inviting atmosphere, a friendly staff and very comparable pricing is truly something special. Cafe Du Liban is one of the best at encompassing all of these qualities and I will continue to support and share with others.

Nothing but great news about my first time visiting Milton and His wonderful Staff. I get their advertisements on my door and for a long time I was putting them in the menu draw in our kitchen. My wife and I are retired so we eat out quite a bit. We decided to try Persian food for take out. I wasn't really sure, so I asked Milton so many questions and questioned him on dishes, their portions and value for the price. He was so nice and accommodating while taking my barrage of questions. Once I made up my mind to purchase, given my comments on my appreciation for good food at a great price, he helped me choose a very delicious meal, and took the time to walk me through the specials in his advertisement. The venue is very clean, neat and quaint. A modern swagg, great for dining in as well. We drove into the shopping center parking lot and this quaint lil cafe caught my eye. Mediterranean for lunch with hubby it is. It was the BEST I've had in sometime. I ordered the Comination Kabob and hubby ordered the Gyro Plate. One plate would have been enough for the both of us. The meats were savory and tender. The rice was fluffy and well seasoned. The homemade baklava just melted in my mouth. OMG! I'm getting hungry just typing this review out. Lol. Service was on point. The entire staff was very attentive from the minute we walked in till we left. We will definitely be recommending this place to our family and friends and will be back for another couples date. read more

Love this little cafe in the middle of the valley. It's a great spot for authentic middle eastern/Mediterranean food. The service is wonderful and the lentil soup, chicken salad, and fatoosh (?) salad are DELICIOUS! Anytime I'm close by, I make my way to cafe du libon. read more

This is a 5 star restaurant. Milton is an absolute sweetheart. I have never seen such a kind and sweet store owner that is so humble! The food is absolutely delicious! I've loved this place for years! If you want a delicious Arab-Persian mix, you should come here. I definitely recommend the baklava and gyro! The garlic sauce is my ABSOLUTE favorite! Found my new Lebanese spot in Tarzana. Absolutely delicious Kabob sirloin and Laffa Gyro dishes. All the food, especially the Hummus and bread were fresh and the right amount of spices. I love trying new places and being delighted on all fronts! I eat a fair amount of Mediterranean food and from the menu I guessed it would be good but standard. However, When I got the food, it was outstanding. I had the falafel laffa(which was huge!), and the kafta kabob (also a generous portion). The falafel was deliciously spiced and crispy, saucy but not overbearing, full of fun flavors and not too salty. I even ate the remainder of it later on and it didn't get soggy! A+ The Kafta Kabob was juicy and so fresh with marinated onions and rice pilaf, a side of pickled veggies and hummus with extra pita! The coolest part tho was the customer service! Incredibly nice business owners, asked me if it was my first time and gave me the most delicious baklava I've ever had. You know how sometimes that pastry gets stuck in your teeth? Is that just me? Ok, well this one didn't! And the owner said that they don't use butter in the food to accommodate the large request for vegan items (I'm 3/4 vegan so this was awesome to hear). Whatever they are doing must be working cuz everything was next level. The decor was pretty chic for a casual place and the ac felt great on this hot valley afternoon. I just can't believe they have been around for 20 years and I just now tried them. Definitely check out this spot! read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 13 years and I cannot have enough. The food is always fresh and so delicious. I've been coming here for a few years now, and tonight I was totally josesin' for Lebanese so off I went! Easy, easy parking along Ventura Blvd is a plus on its own, but their food is as beautifully-plated, fresh & delicious, as ever (don't even get me started on their garlic sauce). They have remodeled since I was last there, and all-in-all did a beautiful job, but the the vibe is less like the laid-back Mom & Pop I had been used to. Before, I would go in and take a seat and order from a server. Tonight, when I walked in, it felt like I had to order at the counter before I sat down. Nothing wrong with that, just a different vibe. Hanging halogen (?) lights are quite bright, I'd suggest something a bit less bright, maybe put lights on a dimmer or select a different color bulb? But I was there for the food, and it did not disappoint! Owners are friendly, the place is extremely clean, there are a few big televisions on the walls (not noisy), and the bathrooms are a work of art! And, hey! They even have Stella on draught now, in addition to others! read more

Absolutely amazing!!! There is not one bad thing to say about this place. Stephanie is very sweet and helpful if your a first timer like myself. The chicken salad is out of this world, very flavorful. The chicken gyro with the house made Laffa bread was also very delicious. They gave us baklava which is a dessert because it was our first time which was of course very tasty as well! As far as the side goes they do not disappoint as well. We got a side of hummus and it was very delicious. It's crazy that I have lived so close to this place all these years and didn't realize this gem! Had takeout tonight. Order was ready and neatly packaged when I arrived. Food was outstanding!! I've worked across the street from this place for 4 years and was just tired of all the nearby restaurants I usually frequent. There are so many little restaurants on Ventura Bl that I never gave this one a thought being nestled in a strip mall. Not anymore. It's on the go to list from now on. read more

Tried restaurant for the first day today based in good reviews. Very disappointed. Hummus very bad, sour taste maybe spoiled, definitely not home made (1 star) Babaganush - blended to a pulp, looks same as hummus, definitely not what it should be (1 star) Will include a picture to show the look the SAME. Coming from someone who has tried multiple Mediterranean restaurants around the San Fernando Valley and other parts of LA, Cafe Du Liban by far is the best. I had Beef Koobideh and Sherma pizza and both tasted outstanding. In addition I had to stop myself from eating the appetizers to leave food for the meal because the fries, bread and salad were so good addicting. Baklava for desert was super tasty as well. I'm so glad I ate at Cafe Du Liban and I cannot wait to eat here again. read more

This person deleted some 1 star reviews, I don't know how but this place is ok. They gave me just a bunch of rice with some orange stuff on top and it tasted decent so that's good but there was a lot and only 2 kabobs but the kabobs tasted good too so that's why I give it a lower rating and the price was high for me I rarely buy fast food. read more

Good food but I don't want to support any restaurants that don't offer a freshly brewed iced tea as an option. This is Los Angeles and I think that is unacceptable here because there are many of us more health-conscious people who don't want all those sweetened drinks. Please offer freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea and I will be back. read more

This place is awful. Ordered food for takeout last night and they said it would be ready in 25 minutes. Came by 30 minutes later and the gentleman up front tells my boyfriend it will be ready soon. We wait, and wait, and wait..... 20 minutes later our order still isn't ready. We go back and it was sitting there the entire time . Gentlemen upfront apologizes as he got our order wrong. As soon as we get home my fries are soggy and cold. My salad was stale - I didn't even bother eating it. My boyfriend's chicken kabab was over cooked and dry. To make things worst there were no utensils . Never coming here again! Wast of time and money! ‍ read more

I tried their food when they catered an office party at my work, and it's now my favorite Persian/Mediterranean food in the whole valley. The food quality was amazing from the beef filet (my favorite) and koobideh to the hummus, yogurt salad/tzatziki and lemon vinaigrette salad. The food was delivered perfectly in (10x14"?) trays with the meat served over a bed of pita bread to soak up all the flavor. Can't wait to visit the actual restaurant and try the rest of their menu! read more

They were nice enough to give a little extra rice to make the presentation of the plate look full. We were able to get 3 salads to get served family style as well. The sadaf salad came in the biggest plate to share, the beet and shirazi salad came in smaller portions. The chicken was big and juicy! All the meats we ordered tasted good... soft and tender. I really enjoyed the beet salad as it also had some sweetness to it. The mixed rice variety allowed us to try all the choices: Albaloo had sour cherries in it, Zareshk had barberries (was my husband's favorite), baghali has lima beans and dill, Asas has lentils raisins and dates making it a sweeter rice dish. They could have provided more bread for our appetizer platter and since we had more people but if you ask for more they will bring more. Everyone enjoyed the food. We did have a lot of leftovers so it would have been nice for our server to let us know to order a little less. We probably could have gotten away with a couple orders less. Also would be nice if they have some kind of chili or hot sauce or peppers for those that like a little more spice to their meal. It wasnt too busy when we went (but it was a weekday) so our party felt like everything turned out well food-wise and service was attentive, just a tad on the pricier side (Juicy chicken is $28 for 5 pieces and rice, and lamb and Naderi were $40 &$39).

The Falafel was AWFUL... As a passionate food enthusiast who has had the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights from around the world, I must express my disappointment with the dining experience at this particular restaurant. Despite my wife's well-intentioned gesture of treating me to a Falafel Sandwich, I found the quality of the dish to be DISGUSTING !!! The Falafel Sandwich, comprised of falafels, tomatoes, parsley, turnips, hummus, and tahini, was a far cry from the delectable meal I had anticipated. The tahini had an unpleasant odor and taste, indicating spoilage. The hummus was so unappetizing that it caused me to throw up , the falafel itself was lackluster in flavor. Considering the exorbitant price of $140 for this meal, I was left feeling utterly dissatisfied. I would have preferred to indulge in a humble Big Mac from McDonald's over this disappointing fare. It is disheartening to see a restaurant capitalize on its location on Ventura Blvd to justify serving overpriced and unpalatable food. Upon seeking feedback from my brother regarding the Gyro Sandwich, his comparison to "Friday's BBQ leftovers on a cold Monday afternoon" further solidified my disappointment in the quality of the cuisine offered at this establishment. So I had to make these guys a yelp page cause it's only right! The best service and food you can honestly get! I love it! Rosie & Elie made sure everything was just right for us. We had probably the best leg of lamb i've ever had in my entire life it melted like butter in our mouths, the kabobs were grilled to perfection and the salad with their in house dressing OMGG!! Amazing! The homemade kibbi rolls and the hand rolled grape leaves were too die for and whatever Rosie adds to it takes it straight over the top and lands you right into heaven. The hummus and baba ganouj (sorry don't know how to spell it hehe) was great as well. Elie makes baklava that would put the any bakery too shame any day of the week and at the end of it they made you feel just like family. This is the only place i will ever go for my caterings! I had lunch here the other day and every part of it was a horrible experience. First, I waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me, then another 10 minutes for him to comeback to take my order. I ordered the falafel plate and it was disgusting. They were overcooked and you can tell that they don't change the oil in the fryer. As soon as the guy (only guy working in the kitchen) brought my food, he clocked out and left. There was a guy in the corner that was just zoned out watching TV on his phone who I figured was the owner or manager because after about 45 minutes past the time I finished my lunch he got a call for a phone order and passed by me while going to the kitchen. Here is why I only gave them only 2 stars.. We called for delivery and requested adding chicken to a salad (we obviously offered to pay). The guy on the phone asked the lady in the background and she replied "salad is salad, no chicken!". He came back to the phone and apologized. I wasn't asking for free food!! Just wanted to add chicken to our salad. Well, guess we can cross this place off our list of options. We stopped au Café du Liban for "a little bite to eat" in the afternoon, only to meet John (the owner) who recommended his chicken liver sandwich with home made laffa bread. We ended up eating home made snacks (pickeled cabbage, roasted nuts, falafel, chicken liver sandwich and backlava "on the house". What a feast!!!! The laffa was so fresh and the chicken lever sandwich so tasty! I'm not a backlava fan but I actually enjoyed theirs... Light and sweeten to perfection... (Usually over sweeten and soggy). The food tastes very good, unfortunately it has become a standard middle easter restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but, it lost its unique touch from the original owners. The Mother and Father who started the cafe had such a unique Lebanese Cuisine Menu (Frogs Legs, Raw Meat Dish w/ Toasted Pita and a shot of Uzo, etc.) that was so different and incredibly tasty. The current menu is middle easter and has very good tasting food, but knowing what it used to be, kinda kills it for me going there. Had the beef kabob and it came with two sides. Not a bad deal for 13 dollars. I had the lentil soup and salad as my sides. The lentils were vey tasty and soft. The salad was a nice mix and had a great dressing on it. The beef, when I bit into it, came off with each bite. Did not have to pull off the rest of the beef. Tells you how soft the beef was cooked. The garlic sauce was delicious and the owner brought me my own side as well. The environment was very relaxing and the owner is a wonderful person. I would highly recommend this establishment for lunch and/or dinner. read more

Ok so me and my husband were searching on the net looking for some good Mediterranean food, we across Cafe Du Liban. After looking at the pictures on yelp we decided to try them out. I ordered the chicken kabob plate and my husband got the beef kabob. I gotta say the food taste fresh and well seasoned, they give you good portions too. The hummus was absolutely delicious. We also ordered some baklava for a desert. The best I had in a while!!!.. The delivery man was very nice and friendly. :) We'll definitely be eating here next time we crave Mediterranean food. read more

Cafe du Liban is an exceptional find located in a small strip mall. Their food possesses the quality found in larger and more famous restaurants. Our dinner featured large servings, highlighted by tasty beef kebabs. Marination gave them a pleasant and tangy taste. The vegetables came out just right, with good texture and flavor. Hummus and rice were fresh and ample. Employees exceptionally friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean. Truly a fine dining experience worth seeking. Highly recommended. read more

Cafe du Liban is an absolute gem! The Mediterranean food was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions that left us more than satisfied. Every dish tasted homemade with authentic flavors, and the hospitality made the experience even better. I've passed by this place many times. I had no idea that I had such a gem in my own backyard!!!!! They helped us order. Giving us great suggestions and thorough explanations of the food. We had the steak kabobs, rice, sautéed veggies, fried cheese, hummus, pita bread, and baklava. The steak was so tender. The hummus so amazing. They served pickles and pickled turnips for appetizer. This place probably has the best Mediterranean Food I have ever had. They have mouth watering falafels and amazing kabobs that will fill you up with amazing taste. The owners are AMAZING and have been running this business forever. The service is amazing and so is the food. If you haven't come or have been waiting to come you definitely should. I just started visiting this restaurant and I have to say that the Customer Service is great but even better than that is the food. I was recommended to try the Chicken Salad and I must say that I am impressed!!! The salad dressing is superb, very light and tasteful as opposed to heavy and over bearing. This is our favorite local restaurant! We order as we are leaving where ever we are, and pick dinner up on our way home. My kids love the chicken schnitzle with rice, grape leaves, hummus, and chicken laffa. My favorite is the chicken salad with feta, I could eat it every night, and when the family is out of town I have. read more

Best authentic middle eastern Lebanese food in the area. I love this place thee family that owns it are wonderful ppl and keep the family recipes going here. I get the combination plate and I can never finish it but it's so good I get it again. Certainly a place to try. They have on tap beer and baklava to add to the meal. read more
