The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS--the best Persian food in LA, hands down!!! Packaging was gorgeous and screams respect for the customer. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Love LA Shemroon Persian Restaurant! The food is always fresh and super flavorful, and the prices are honestly great for the quality. The staff are really friendly, and Edvin makes you feel welcome every time. I also used them for catering once, and everyone at my party loved the food. Definitely one of my everyday favorite spots!

I finished my Easter shopping at Valley Marketplace. My car was parked behind the building. I was about to leave the market when I noticed a new place had opened -- and it was busy. Out of curiosity, I went closer and saw a fridge full of different Persian foods. They looked fresh. I thought I could buy some food for lunch so my wife wouldn't have to cook. I got some individual skewered kababs, zereshk polo with chicken, and baghali polo with mahiche. The portions were huge, and the packaging was smart -- they had thought of everything. The food came with a drink, salad, lemon, onion, sumac, bread, utensils, etc. The food was delicious. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. The jujeh kabab was thoroughly cooked and also well-seasoned. The rice was lightly salted, which we love. The service was also great. We were greeted by a nice lady who told us all about their daily specials. Very kind and courteous people. A tip: the wait time might be longer than usual because they cook everything fresh. Next time, I'll order before I go shopping. I asked if they're on any third-party delivery apps -- and yes! They'll be on DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates soon. They also accept large catering orders. The ambiance is just like the marketplace. Unfortunately, they don't have any dining area. Just for takeout, pickup, delivery, or catering. No dine-in :( I was so excited, I ordered so much food that I forgot to grab some of their house-made mast-o-musir or hummus. That's for next time. Highly recommended place!

Their togo box, giving me iran vibes (the shemroon is tehran has a similar box!)

My father has left this world but every time I come here I remember him loving this place. His favorite was the lamb shank. He would usually order two portions. One to take home. My favorites are their kabobs and different modifications (think sour berries) of generous amounts of basmati rice that accompany their entrees. The Mast O' Mooseer (yoghurt with shallots) is another of my must haves. Generally, I always get the koobideh kabob to go, but this time, I was in the mood to sit down and have some chunks of meat. I chose the Shish Kabob, which is advertised as grilled filet mignon pieces. The restaurant prepares it medium well and past experience revealed it to be dry and tough. So I asked for it medium rare, for the first time. The dish that came to my table had marvelous optics. The beef was well charred, had an intoxicating aroma and well distributed coloring amongst the seven generous pieces. But there were a few problems. For one, I could not comfortably cut into the beef without using excess force, and shredding it. I asked for a sharper (steak) knife and was told that was all they had. While the meat was juicy, it was extremely chewy. I even questioned whether it was filet mignon, because it did not look and behave like it. I was told it was. If that was the case, could it have been a bad cut? This substantiates why I am leery about ordering meat pieces. Amongst the other items, the thick creamy yoghurt did not disappoint. Same with the grilled onion and tomato. The saffron rice is always fluffy and abundant. The green salad was crisp and refreshing. Take home message? Looks like I will have to skip the Shish Kabob and stick only with the koobideh, if I am ever in the mood for skewered grilled beef.

Most importantly, the food was the greatest ever. My family would have been fine with just the baba ganoush and roasted eggplant-- it was hearty and creamy and garlicky, everything I have ever wanted in a dish. But of course, we ordered the super combo due to our hubris and paid the price (we took a bunch of boxes). They are not kidding when they say the Super Combo feeds 4-5, they must be talking about 4-5 men in their early 20s because it was way too much for us. Assuming you eat all the salad and rice and the bed if bread the meat is served on, I can imagine this feeding more than 5 people. It is truly the most value item on the menu, should you have the personnel to take it on. Highly recommended for anyone who likes mediterranean food! Try the baba ganoush and roasted eggplant!!

I was a slight bit off but not sick. I did want something light so the order went as follows: Pickled veggies, hummus, Armenian salad, moutabel. My daughter had chicken and beef plate with hummus and yogurt cucumber. She received pita too. My hubby got oven roasted pork ribs, and a bowl of lentil soup. First - the food was all amazing! Fresh. The serving dishes were nice and different making the meal so attractive. We all shared bites of each others food and enjoyed knowing that the next we come we know again what we want. Service was lovely and we met George and his family, who were so very nice and welcoming. To have dinner at a family establishment is heart felt and nostalgic, because I grew up in a restaurant environment. George's mother in law came over to us and gave us fresh made cookie biscuits to try as dessert. We couldn't stop thanking them for the entire dining experience. It's a mom and pop shop. A hole in the wall. Some of the best places, you all know, are small. I liked this place a lot. And I'm planning on going there again soon. :) thank you George and family for delicious food and making us feel like family.

I prefer pita sandwiches that are cut open and stuffed, rather than rolled up like a burrito the way they do here; the latter compresses everything together into a mush and can drip the contents out the back end, which is exactly what happened when I tried eating this one. This would matter less if the felafel were really good, but these were almost completely tasteless and mushy, no nice crisp exterior. In fact, they were falling apart as I was eating. The hummus was okay. Not bad, but nothing special. And the pita bread they included with it was cold, not warm and fresh. Maybe there are other items on the menu that justify the five star reviews. But the felafel and hummus certainly do not, and I'm not sure I'd want to experiment further.
