Saturday brunch walk-in with the place filled to 40% capacity. Very chill vibes and French/Paris eatery setup with nice bright interiors. I wish their draught selection was wider, but the Kronenbourg pint they had on tap was chilled and went down pretty easy! For food, we got linguine with butter for out little butter cakes, Moroccan Sandwich ($19) with Spicy Lamb Sausage. The French Baguette was pretty hard to eat but the sausage was good. The winner of the table though was an excellent Vegetarian Avocado Toast ($19). The Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes and onions just elevated the taste to the next level for me! Service was slightly slow in terms of our drinks. Food however arrived within 20 mins of ordering. I feel bad for not reviewing this place sooner since I visit here regularly. This restaurant is a gem on the UWS. The food is always on point and I've dined in for brunch and week day evenings. It was my first time eating at a French restaurant so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got the French onion soup to start out and it was exactly what I wanted. Very savory, warm and cheesy. For my entree I got the steak hache and frites. It was very tender and the peppercorn was great. The garlic fries were also delightful with pieces of roasted garlic sprinkled in. The service was very quick! We made a reservation before hand, and it wasn't a hassle to get one. I would definitely recommend getting one because it looked like it does get full later in the night. Hands down the best burger I've had in the city. Not only was it absolutely massive, but it had a great flavor, was well-cooked, melted in your mouth, AND came with fries. If you're looking for a good burger, definitely come here. The service was also pretty standard. They had someone refilling waters before it even got halfway which was really nice. The staff were friendly and it took a pretty average amount of time to get our food. Wasn't quick or too long. I would say it does get a bit loud; I had some trouble hearing my partner across the table and we were tucked in the corner. We went on a busy Friday evening and we were given a corner table which was relatively quiet and away from the crowded bar area. The food was as good and perhaps a little better than other French restaurants we've been to over the years in Manhattan. I had the Coq au Vin (chicken in a sauce with onions and a few other veggies). My wife had the bouillabaisse (a fish stew). Both were very tasty. The glass of Bordeaux wine I had was very pleasant and didn't taste like the bottle had been opened for more than a day. The service was efficient and our waiter was friendly. The atmosphere was typical French bistro. The restaurant and bar are popular in the neighborhood, especially on weekends. Reservations recommended. read more

So my beloved, Lora Papetsas, who is both French and Swedish, or rather Swedish and French, depending on the day, cooks all the time at our home. She is a Michelin star trained chef, and I would be remiss, if I didn't use in the context of who she trained with and mentored with, which is a list of who's who. Here is a sampling of who, Michel Guerard, Alain Senderens, Pierre Troisgros, Roger Verge, Anne Willan, Barbara Tropp. She also owned an Italian restaurant for over 20 years on Cape Cod, and now advising to a new family owned restaurant in Delray Beach. I mention all of this, because I found this place that seemed interesting at least to me. However, when we ordered from them today, it was far more than interesting. It was amazing! That's not just coming from my limited experience with anything but from my beloved, so I highly recommend this place in more ways than one. For How pricey the menu was, the food was more pretentious than flavorful. I personally ordered the lamb shank however, it was very underseasoned, as well as most of the other dishes served to my table waitress also forgot our appetizer at the beginning of the meal and the only appetizer that my table to get was burnt as escargot. Though I once had absolutely awful chicken here once, I agreed to go for a late night drink. The bartender didn't know how to make the cocktail my companion requested, and after she tried to give him the recipe (of a very well known cocktail), he was rude and she just asked for a white wine instead. He said "Drink your wine and get out." We tried to complain to the manager (a guy said, "well I guess that's me") and he was defending the bartender. So we just said, "You know what, we'll leave."
