We finally got a chance to try this wine bar. Love the ambiance and the vibe of this place. Food: Short list of still offer good variety. Drink: Wine selection is as well as the cocktails. I didn't try the cocktails but since I sat at the bar, I watched many pretty cocktails they made . We ordered Bruchetta Board , Marinated Olives and 2 wine Flights (Rose & Red). The Columns Wine Bar is definitely a place to hang out!

Tldr: overpriced, food not bad, terrible service The restaurant has a nice ambiance, I have to give it that, but beyond that, it was one of the more disappointing dining experiences I've had. We sat down and were not served water or talked to by a waiter until we flagged someone down. We ordered a number of items, and the first couple came with fairly long wait times between each dish (isn't tapas style supposed to arrive all at once?) After three dishes, our waiter came by and asked if we were good on food and if we'd like to close out. We told him we were still waiting on 3 more plates and he seemed surprised to hear that. Finally, two more plates came and after picking at the tiny portions, another 20 minutes passed without our crudo. We again had to flag down our waiter and asked about our last dish ("oh, the Brussels sprouts?" he said). We ended up just cancelling it, because clearly it'd been forgotten and no one was making it in the kitchen. Tbh I was confused because it seemed like our entire table had been forgotten somehow. The food itself was not bad, quite creative. Honestly a shame that the service is unable to deliver this food out to customers in a timely fashion. However, the portions were very small and I left hungry. After spending $50 pp on a meal, I'd hope to not leave hungry. I don't usually write reviews like this, but this was just an egregious lack of service and frankly a waste of time and money.

So happy that Columns has opened up in the neighborhood. The restaurant is pretty big! Beautifully decorated. The staff were kind and the service was attentive. They have a great selection of food, wine, beer and cocktails. I love their toast boards. I had the Dragoncello Fizz drink and it was very strong!! Also served in a huge glass so beware lol I'll definitely go back and really love the fact that we have a nice wine bar in the neighborhood

Beautiful restaurant with overpriced food. They currently charge $18 for a slice of burnt toast with scrambled eggs (see photo). The pancakes are terrific, but I won't be returning for brunch.

Very cute spot on UWS. My friend's and I meet here for a chill book club meeting. We each ordered a glass of wine and bruschetta to share: whipped ricotta + pesto, apple butter+ brie+ thyme, tomato+olive oil + sea salt. We really enjoyed the bruschetta and wine. Service was standard. I'd love to come back and try more things on the menu.

Very cute space, great ambiance, the bartender Chris is amazing. Nice cocktail selection and if you don't like anything on the menu, Chris will make you something just for you.

    Avocado toast with gluten-free bread

Any time I see someone talk about a new gluten-free spot, I have to visit. We went to Columns Wine Bar for a brunch on a Saturday and were blown away. It's not just gluten free--almost EVERYTHING can be made gluten free. I'm not used to having so many options that I don't know what to choose! I ended up getting the avocado toast. I don't know where they get their gluten-free bread, but it's the best I've ever had. My friend got the egg scramble and we split the French toast. It was all so good. Service was a little slow, but they were all so friendly that we didn't mind. The cocktails were also good. We can't wait to go back and try dinner!

I was able to make reservations at the last minute on a Sat night despite July being a very touristy month in the city. We arrived early and an outdoor table was just finishing up so we were sat within a handful of minutes. Beautiful evening to sit outdoors and the people-watching was good but not bothersome. We ordered Escargot, crispy artichokes, french onion soup, the duck and the steak au poive, all of which were excellent (the duck was very nice). Despite the variety of wine available we were enjoying cocktails and our water glasses were constantly refilled. The service was very good as well and the maitre d was also very pleasant. Very solid performance and would love to revisit at a later date.

Conclusion- disappointed, as it's 5 years past its prime, as its last Michelin Bib Gourmand (2021) sign had proven prophetic. Pros- the only non-French menu item off the lunch menu, the burger with fries, was one of the tastiest I had anywhere in sometime. Would have been perfect had I ordered it medium rare, instead of medium. One plus is the decent portion size, for both main entrees and appetizers. Cons- all the other French menu items can use room(s) for improvement. Starting with the mussels bowl, although very flavorful, mussels were a bit overcooked, and it can use a bit more butter, and one less pinch of salt in flavoring. Next, the Escargot appetizer can use more flavoring, and the tuna tartare was way too bland, definitely needs more salt, pepper, and whatever other seasoning to enhance its flavor. Service- server attitude was decent; however, the wait times for food for both appetizers & main entrees were way too long, especially given the fact it's a rainy weekday mid-afternoon and there were only 2 other tables of diners. Given its past glory, and fact there are several other Amelies chain locations in NYC, perhaps the owner(s) of this establishment can take my constructive comments to heart?

I mean it's drenched in butter... it's obviously going to be delish. the fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and layered in salt. weird to have to ask for mayo but they did bring it out. - the, albeit pretty, veggie sides I felt were unnecessary and borderline cold so unclear on how much they really added the meal - the Tarte Tatin à la mode was a win around the table. the apple melted in your mouth. the Poire belle Hélène was good but paled in comparison
