For about the same price, you can get a homemade egg sandwich, hash browns, potatoes, and a fresh meal that actually feels like it was made with care. I try to support local businesses whenever I can, and this place is exactly why. The food is fantastic, the portions are solid, and the atmosphere has that small-town North Shore charm that's getting harder to find. It's a tiny, unpretentious local spot with a great vibe and friendly service. If you're in Haleiwa and looking for a quality breakfast or lunch without the tourist trap feel, Cafe Haleiwa is definitely worth a stop.

Love the feel of non touristy location with inside and outside dining. Order at the counter a they provide a number for your table. They have inside and outside dining out back. The outside dining is campy and I like it. Although we were seated inside, at the time we thought it was connected with a different business. We ordered a breakfast burrito for husband and I had the avocado toast and coffee. Really enjoyed my meal, nicely seasoned. The burrito was huge with country fries. This little gem will be on our list when in Haleiwa.

We shared the pecan pie, pineapple muffin, and pumpkin muffin. I really liked the pecan pie crust. Both the muffins were moist, and I enjoyed the chunks of fruit in the pineapple one. I wanted to get savory food, but they were sold out by the time we got there. I also got a golden turmeric latte. I don't really know what I was expecting from a golden turmeric latte, but it just tasted earthy. Nothing amazing about it, but I'm sure it had great health benefits. Service was super friendly even though it was rather busy when we went. There was lots of seating in this cute covered area separated from the shop. I liked how quiet it was compared to the inside of the shop where they are calling out orders. I'm so sad that this place is closing after serving Haleiwa for so many years!

How sad! :( This has been a go to place for a cup of coffee and something sweet if I was in Haleiwa in the mornings. Also buy locally grown and fresh ground coffee...a lot of times for gifts. Sigh... gotta try to find a new place, but nothing can replace the Coffee Gallery... Got 6 more days for those who wanna make that last stop...

Everyone took a turn building the bento box or picking their items. We paid and went out side to sit at the nice little patio area at the side of the building. There's even a pass through window they can give you your food that way so you don't have to carry it all out. I got a AAA Threat bento box and also tried a couple other items including the cone sushi I read about on someone's review, a spam Musubi variety I hadn't tried before and we of course had to try the ube donut holes. Everyone enjoyed their food. My grandson said 5 out of 5 and ate every bite of his. My box had a large variety of items so I had some to take home for later. I also got an iced vanilla lavender latte which was a solid choice. My son said it would definitely be a place he came back to and would get the same thing next time. It's quick service. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. I don't think you'll go wrong with this one.

From the moment we interacted with the staff, the attitude was cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude. It wasn't just one bad interaction or someone having a bad day. The looks, the tone of voice, and the overall way we were treated made us feel completely unwelcome. My wife noticed it immediately after ordering, but I brushed it off because I didn't want to jump to conclusions. After I had to go back to ask about my watered-down matcha latte, I experienced the same treatment myself. That's when I understood exactly why she felt the way she did. Maybe that wasn't their intention, but as Asian customers, that's how we left feeling. You don't need to understand every word someone says to recognize disrespect. People can feel it through body language, facial expressions, and tone. No family should leave a business feeling this uncomfortable after simply ordering a couple of drinks. We drove out of our way to support this place and instead left disappointed, uncomfortable, and with no desire to ever come back.
