    1/3 pound hamburger
    Harlan K.

There's nothing like a great burger after the beach and Kua'aina in Haleiwa delivers. We got the standard 1/3 pound burger (comes with tomato, lettuce, onions and mayo). Also had another that I customized with bacon and avocado. The shoe string fries were also delicious and the side of slaw added to the whole burger experience. At the tables there's ketchup, mustard, Tabasco, salt and pepper. Plenty of seating inside in air conditioning or outside where you are in a patio. There is free parking up front or in the back. In the back side of the restaurant you can also find the restroom, but see the cashier for a token to use first. #bigboyproblems

Third Pound Bacon Burger (no mayo, no tomato)

Our family has loved coming to Kua' Aina for as long as I can remember (definitely for over 10 years), and we enjoy it every time! They definitely have the BEST burgers on the island! As for orders, our family always orders either half or third pound bacon burgers (I get mine without mayonnaise or tomato). The burger portions and the topping portions are always very generous, and everything is always cooked to perfection. Even the buns are perfect! The fries are also super crispy, and they're always cooked very well. The texture and size pair perfectly with the burgers. I recommend also adding some fries into your burger too! The service is always really great here. The staff are always very nice, welcoming, and helpful. If something is off or a drink tastes a bit watery, they're always happy to assist us. All the staff seem very happy to be working here, and the vibes are always great. Everything is served in trays and baskets which makes it easy to clean-up. Takeout is also easy. The inside of the restaurant has booth and table options, and there's plentiful seating both inside and outside. Outside, there's both seats under an umbrella area, and covered booths on the patio/lanai. The vibes of Kua' Aina are both vintage and modern-clean at the same time, and we love looking at all the surf decor on the walls too. They also have merch available for purchase. Highly recommend coming here for your burger fix, by far the best burgers on Oahu! Hits especially good post-surf session!

Kua Aina Sandwich is one of the best burger places on the island. It located at Haleiwa town. They have parking behind the restaurant. The restaurant looks modern and clean, staffs are very friendly and attentive. They have burgers, sandwiches and salads on their menu. Food: * 1/2 lbs Cheeseburger (10/10) - the patty was thick, extremely juicy, tender and flavorful. All the ingredients were very fresh. One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. * Grilled Ahi Sandwich (10/10) - The Ahi was very fresh and the sauce was a bomb. Delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

Cool burger place in Hale'iwa with a nice selection of burgers, tropical vibes, friendly staff, and quick service! My partner and I went for the pineapple burger, Ortega burger, and fries. The pineapple burger was the standard burger with a refreshing burst of tartness from the pineapple. The Ortega burger was the standard burger with slices of green chile on it. Fries were crunchy and salty; hard to go wrong. Overall, these are your basic burgers and fries with a bit of an island spin! Side notes: AC was super cold in the restaurant in the evening, so outside seating is probably better for the cold-averse. If you're sitting outside, they'll announce the name for the order on a speaker system, so no need to worry about waiting inside.

Best burgers on the island!! I always go for the avocado burger but the Ortega burger is my family's favorite. The fries are to die for. I always get the large. When its busy, there's a long wait and not a lot of seats. But a long time favorite of mine!

I fell in love with the first bite. I got the avocado burger and fries. I'm from California and this is probably better than in n out. I love this burger and the fries were not too salty or too bland and they served pickles as the side. I love pickles and this place was very very good

Kua Aina Sandwich Shop is one of Hawaii's Top three burger locations. The patty is unbeatable! It's juicy, Tender, and rich, just like you imagine the perfect patty. I got a 1/3 lb Pineapple Burger ($12.30) and French Fries ($4.00). Bad: - The location is in the North Shore area, and a vehicle is necessary when visiting. Good: - Parking is available on both the front and back of the building. - There are many other options, such as sandwiches and salads. - You can pick your bread. - Super friendly staff! Conclusion: Come to Kua Aina Sandwich Shop if you want a real burger with a delicious patty. You will not forget the taste!

Our Favorite by far Burger Spot on the Island. We visited a couple times a week when living in Ewa. So happy to see that even after 12 years it is still doing what it does, making great food at a good price, by friendly people. You will leave full & Happy, ready for a nap on the Beach or walking it off touring Northshore. Nice & clean dining area with plenty of seating inside & out. Parking located front & back. Bathroom in back, token provided at counter, follow instructions on door and u will be fine- don't & u may have company- LOL One of the highlights of our visit was lunch at our old favorite spot.

As I started writing this review, I realized that all of the 3 photos I've posted so far are of the avocado burger, so I wonder if you can guess my go-to order here? LOL I do also get fries every time but for some reason never took photos of those. Burgers can be ordered 1/2 or 1/3 pound and by default come with a kaiser roll, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. But you could also get wheat or rye bread. The burgers are delicious, although you need to be able to handle messy burgers that are taller than they are wide. I recommend ordering to go even if you dine in, because then your burger comes wrapped in foil which is convenient for keeping your hands dry while eating! There are also paper towel rolls at every table and a bathroom around back to wash your hands though. The fries are shoestring fries, which are tasty and not so common, so they're nice to get. I've also tried the grilled fish sandwich (very good) and pastrami sandwich (not bad). The fish available will usually be ahi, but mahi and ono are also possibilities according to the menu. There are lots of inside tables and some outside tables. It's pretty cold inside so I opt for outside when available. Finally, parking: there's a handful of stalls in the front and more in a small lot in the back.

Pineapple Burger with cheddar and bacon!

I simply cannot have dinner on the North Shore and not come to Kua Aina. I literally crave these burgers and their irresistible French fries. I always get a cheeseburger (cheddar) and add pineapple and bacon. And leave on their standard fixings of lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. The patty is fat and juicy. The Kaiser roll holds up bite after sumptuous bite. (Pro tip: Use the provided carrot to prop up your burger and keep the bun out of the juices that are sure to line your basket.) And the fries?! You just can't stop eating them. I split a half-pound burger and a large fries with my GF, and we still can't finish it all. But, man, do we have so much fun trying. Order a soft drink or BYOB (it's Hawaii!). Cards accepted. Bathrooms available in the rear; ask for a token. Staff are friendly. Love me some Kua Aina!

Kua' Aina has been serving since 1975, and it's no wonder they've been around so long. It's a cute little place. We ate outside with the chickens. You'll notice there are chickens everywhere on Oahu. I had their avocado burger. It was delicious. My friend ordered a BLT that looked good and the fries which were yummy. If you find yourself on the North Shore, do stop here. You won't be disappointed. 6 .
