Everything was great: Clams in black bean sauce, mixed veggies and salted pork chops.

Solid 4.5 stars for flavor, vibes and value at this bustling Chinatown restaurant. 100% locals but dont let that dissuade you, and it's nothing fancy but it's got an A rating now so who cares. Just look at this feast we shared for less than $20 each!

Hubs and I met up with daughter for lunch here. They have lunch specials and Hubs liked that. LOL. We got the following: Sweet and sour pork - this is daughter's go to now and she loves it here. It's nice and crispy and sweet. Soft shell crabs - I liked the way they fry their soft shell crabs here. It's likely breaded and fried unlike other places. It's delicious and perfectly salted and peppered. Price was very reasonable, also! Steamed Carp Fish- this took a while to come out. It's a pretty popular dish here. Even though it tasted great, I was disappointed at the portion. The entree shrunk to a small portion nowadays. Back then, it was significantly larger. Ribs with bitter melon- this was delicious as well with the right amount of black bean sauce. I'm glad we got a chance to come back for their lunch specials. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu!

My parents took us here for dinner. I would recommend a reservation as it was really full when we got there. My mom was able to make one for the same day earlier in the day. The food wasn't as good as I hoped for. I thought the fish maw soup was odd tasting due to the addition of the corn. Why ruin something so traditional? The walnut shrimp also was ok. Otherwise everything else was good but did not quite exceed expectations for us to actively choose a place like this over Wus Wonton or Uncle Lou.

My favorite half crispy garlic chicken and pork fried rice.

The food here is amazingly good. Every time I am in Chinatown I have to stop here to eat. Conveniently located few blocks away from the subway station is a plus. The only thing is that they only accept CASH, They crispy garlic chicken is soooo good and so are the garlic eggplants. Don't get fooled by their look is nothing fancy. But you are sure going to enjoy the food. Also the portions are great a lot of food so you might wanna order couple of dishes to share. The employees are nice and they will tell you if you have any doubts about the amount of food you should order.

This spot is a go-to for my family, especially my mom. We've been coming here for years for casual family dinners, and it never disappoints. The food comes out fast, hot, and consistently good. Plus, it's reasonably priced, which is always a bonus. We always order the Sweet and Sour Pork--it's crispy, perfectly balanced, and a favorite at our table every time. The Lobster is another standout. I'm pretty sure they coat it in cornstarch before cooking, which helps seal in the juices and keep the meat tender and flavorful. A little trick I learned from my uncle who was a chef in Hong Kong. My mom's favorite is the Steamed Fish. She always says it's fresh and perfectly cooked soft, flaky, and delicate. If you're looking for classic Cantonese comfort food in a laid-back setting, this place is definitely worth a visit. Cash only!

My friend ordered for us, so I could not tell you the names of the plates. Of them, I liked the chicken the most - so juicy and succulent with the garlic soy sauce flavor that you can scoop on top. The eggplant and string beans were perhaps my next favorite. The T bone could have used more flavor, and the breaded fish was breaded a bit too much compared to the meat of the fish.

what a great family style Cantonese restaurant! Came here with the fam on a Sunday (early evening) as this place gets kinda busy fast. We were seated immediately and were given ample time to order our meal. All the food came out pretty fast and all at once lol. We got a little bit of everything (some things weren't pictured /: ) but the highlights of the meal had to be the Cantonese style lobster & clams! They had tons of flavor and really gave me that home styled cooking vibe. Everything else was great too don't get me wrong. A must try spot if you're in Chinatown with a group!

Food: The food is delicious here and very authentic! They had a deal for two lobsters for $38. We also tried the garlic pea shoots, steamed carp, braised carp and tofu, and string beans. All dishes were great especially the lobster and steamed carp. The braised carp and tofu was a nice dish to try but I probably wouldn't order it again. It comes out on a flame to keep it warm and bubbly while you eat. The dishes here taste homemade and authentic so I would highly recommend this place in Chinatown. Service: Service was great. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They are attentive and always around if you need something. Ambiance: The restaurant isn't large but can accommodate large groups. They have two to three large round tables and some smaller tables for parties of four. The restaurant is nice and clean as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Actual review is closer to a 3.75. No frills spot but does the job especially for ABCs/locals who want their Cantonese food craving satisfied. We got the lobster, fried seafood (squid, scallop, shrimp), garlic pea shoots, and garlic crispy chicken. The chicken and veggies stood out but portions were generally huge. Will come back to try the lobster cooked a diff style and maybe order the black bean sauce clams! Def a loud hole in a wall spot but not bad! They calculated our bill correctly but based on other reviews here, do check carefully and ask if any questions. Warning to my young ppl: cash only!

Came after Super Saturday parade for a dinner with friends and why did I not find out about this place sooner??? Their dishes were huge and for a reasonable price. Amongst 4 people, we ordered 5 dishes to share and we left with full bellies and leftovers to take home!!! Their service is friendly and quick; the place was full of patrons and always a wait for a table. The food came out quick after order was placed, they do not rush you out at all. Definitely returning to tryout their lunch specials and other dishes!

This is my family's go-to lunch place for last thirty years. The delicious steamed grass fish lunch special offers great value in terms of size. Many elderly eat here just authentic traditional Cantonese food. The server was polite. If you want an authentic Cantonese meal, come here. Don't expect it to be decorated though.

really great cantonese food for cheap that exceeded my expectations!! truly a no frills establishment doing things authentically and i'm always here for that. tried a variety of dishes - steamed fish, pork chop over rice, pea shoots, chow fun. all were really good!! the chow fun had a delicious smoky char. highly rec!!! and be prepared to bring cash as it is cash only.

This place is packed but luckily our wait was only 10 minutes. Food here is delicious and very generous portions. Service was pretty good considering how busy the place is and workers very friendly. Will definitely come back.

Our favorites of the night were the salt and pepper chicken with scallion biscuits (jam was amazing, and the chicken was moist and fried perfectly), the walnut shrimp (super juicy and well-cooked, not too over-sauced), the pot stickers, and the cold sesame noodles which had great chew and a lovely, creamy sauce. The crudo was pretty small and nothing to write home about, and the eggplant and tofu curry were a bit under-seasoned for me. The bowls of rice we got to eat with the side dishes were also pretty mushy, as if the rice hadn't been properly rinsed before it was cooked, which was disappointing at $3 a bowl. Room for improvement! Still definitely a spot I'll recommend to friends looking for interesting takes on Chinese food! Service was attentive and smooth throughout the night, and we got some good suggestions on serving sizes for the group. Left stuffed and satisfied!

I ordered in some rice rolls and the soy sauce chicken with rice dish. The rice rolls were minuscule and the shrimp ones not fully deveined. The real problem was the soy sauce chicken. This was the most flavorless dish I've ever ordered from a Chinese spot. Dry as can be and no sauce could save it. Might return, but only for dim sum.

Friend of mine is a little more familiar with the cuisine so I entrusted our order to her and we got the following: Crystal shrimp dumpling (5/5): now this is saying something because I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp, but these dumplings were so juicy and savory, without having the heaviness or doughiness of other dumplings Pan fried turnip cake with pork (3.5/5): personally not my cup of tea, but my friend loves turnip cake and I was down to give it a try. It's also very savory/umami-y, goes well with the dipping sauces, and I'd say the texture is on the thicker side - I'm not quite sure how to describe the taste, but overall an interesting experience. Chicken chow-fun (4.5/5): I love this wide (rice?) noodle that they use, reminds me of pad see ew with the hints of soy but with chicken. It also had bean sprouts (or mung beans? one of the two), green onions (or scallions? gah I get so confused), and onions. I'm a glutton for vegetables, so I wish it had more variety of veggies but nonetheless still really enjoyed this dish and would definitely get it again! They were honestly quite busy on a weekday afternoon, but service was super sweet and loved the overall vibes inside, would love to come again!
