    Hk cola? I'm curious.

Service was good. Experience was good. Ambiance was good. Love the theme. Food was good but did not match up to it's price point. There was a twist in all their dishes that would make them different from other Chinese restaurants. They all tasted good but the small changes that they made to "upgrade" or to transform the dishes to make them more modern did not justify the price. I can't exactly say that I loved all those changes either. The chicken was just like the salt and pepper chickens at other Chinese places. The jam that came with it alongside with the biscuits were what made them special. I personally was not a fan of the jam. I could not really put my finger on what it was that I was nitpicking on but I did not touch it much. The biscuit was a hit. Even my picky daughter was into it and kept asking for more. I expected it to be a dryer biscuit but I am not complaining. Maybe just a bit crumblier than I expected. It was good. The fried rice was it's grains and how its absorbed it's sauce. It kind of reminded me of risotto. It was ok, good, but it was not a favorite. Old man chiu and the landlady. They were good. My colleague and I each ordered one and then ended up swapping to suit our tastes. Its one of the benefits of eating with others. Would I visit again? Not too certain about that but I would have people come and give them a try nonetheless.

Came here with a reservation on the weekend with a group of friends and shared everything family style. I love the fun interior of the spot, and the servers are all very friendly and talkative. The dumplings were a standout favorite for me, although everything was delicious. The servers helped with questions we had about the menu and some dietary restrictions in the group as well, which was great. Will definitely be back!

This place is a delight! Thank goodness we had a reservation--we saw a few folks turned away (Saturday night). Our server was friendly and patient. The menu is medium-sized, which I appreciate. It's big enough so that you have choices, but not so big that you feel overwhelmed. We ordered the snow pea shoots, salt and pepper chicken and biscuits, and a special--sweet and sour pork. Everything was delicious--my favorite was the chicken and biscuits. The biscuits were incredibly soft, and I liked that the chicken was flavorful, but not too salty.

Potluck Club joins the throng of contemporary Chinese restaurants (mainly found in Williamsburg) that has way too small portions and hefty prices. Some of the dishes are hit and miss but all are too salty by 20-30% (my whole party agreed). I appreciate the restaurant's attempt at modernizing Chinese classics, but the target audience doesn't seem to be those who grew up eating them. XO Fried Rice $28 - contains house xo sauce, Chinese sausage, shrimp, and corn. This was my second favorite dish but the Chinese sausage made the already salty dish even saltier. The inclusion of corn reminded me of my mom's homemade fried rice; sometimes, she'd add it if the fried rice was lacking ingredients. Oyster mushroom rice roll noodles - contains aspragus, garlic chives, steak pieces (for additional $8). It's stir-fried short cheung fun (rice roll noodles) that are thicker and have more a bite. It has a nice char, but without the steak pieces, this dish would do better as a dim sum plate than a main. It's really laughable for $23 (not including the additional $8 for steak). Crispy drunken chicken w shrimp chips $32 - has ginger scallion, fried shallots, and cilantro. The dish is very similar to the drunken chicken that you can get at Chinese banquet restaurants. Even the dipping sauce tastes incredibly alike, but it seems like this dish was reimagined to make it more appealing to those not familiar with the OG. Braised short ribs $40 - with creamer potatoes and thumbelina carrots. This was the favorite of a few of us because the ribs were very tender. But again, too salty after more than one bite. Curry tofu $18 - coconut curry sauce, silken tofu, watercress. This dish was ok but kind of disappointing in a restaurant setting. Staff was nice. Hard to get reservations, so book in advance. Arrived earlier than my reservation, and they let me sit at the chef's bar, which was fine with me. Liked the Chinese pop culture references in the decor.

Potluck Club in the Lower East Side is Hong Kong inspired restaurant serving a variety of Cantonese-American dishes. We began our meal with the pork and chive potstickers and their special cold sesame noodles. The pot stickers were sooooo juicy and crispy. For mains we had the salt and pepper chicken with scallion biscuits served with a side of chili-plum jam, tiger shrimp with candied walnuts, braised short ribs and snow pea shoots. There honestly was not a bad dish all night. Everything was delicious but the standouts for us were the tiger shrimp and the fried chicken. We loved the lively ambiance, the unpretentious but refined flavors and the sheer deliciousness of the eats. We are looking forward to trying their sister restaurant, Phoenix Palace soon

This is a modern Cantonese restaurant a bit north of Manhattan Chinatown. My friend and I made reservations for 5:45 which is necessary for weekend dining as tables start filling in around 6:30pm. I liked how there are a lot of Cantonese pop culture decor which is very relatable. We ordered the following - Jellyfish Tiger salad - solid, would recommend if you never had jellyfish at a Chinese restaurant. Large portions, fairly al dente chewy - Berkshire pork and chive potstickers - very flavorful with the chili oil but way too salty - Oyster mushroom rice roll noodles - one of the most popular dishes, but like most reviews resonate, quite uninteresting and underwhelming. The oyster mushrooms are good but overall lacked the wok hay - Tiger shrimp with candied walnuts - a fusion take to honey walnut shrimp. A bit too salty but I liked the chili mixture with the creamy sauce and the walnuts are nicely sweet - Braised short ribs - for the price, a bit low on the quality. Way too salty and there was a bit too much fat - Coffee milk tea martini - think of it like espresso martini but HK milk tea. Decent but not memorable for $16 price tag. Cocktail was pretty tiny Service is okay. Food came out fairly quickly but the cadence is very weird. We got the braised short ribs and the oyster mushroom rice roll noodles first and the appetizers later. Usually they'll tell you in advance that food is coursed or delivered from the kitchen in an arbitrary order, but not the case here. A bit underwhelming for the price point as we spent close to $180 for 2 people all-in. Easter egg: Don't forget to take a fortune cookie at the bottom of the vending machine!

Decorations were very nostalgic and cute in here! Lots of old school product on a vending machine wall. Highly recommend doing a reservation because place gets packed! They also serve drinks here as well. We got a whole bunch of stuff. Pork and chive Dumplings , xo fried rice , spicy eggplant salt and pepper chicken with scallion pancake biscuit. Definitely get the chicken with scallion pancake biscuit because the biscuit was so good and it comes with a sauce that really enhance the flavor.

Potluck Club has been on my hit list foreeeever, and I finally got to try it--and it did not disappoint. The overall ambiance is super funky and fun, very lively and cool. We ended up with bar seats, which were fine, but definitely not the full experience. Since the concept is family-style, I'd highly recommend coming with a group of 4-5 people so you can try more dishes. Portions are pretty generous, especially for just two people. Overall, I really liked this place. The food was solid, the staff was very friendly, and the drinks were delicious. I enjoyed every minute. What we ordered: Pork & Chive Potstickers - My absolute favorite dish of the night. Slightly on the salty side, but honestly so good I didn't mind at all. Salt & Pepper Chicken with Scallion Biscuit - Insanely good. That biscuit alone is worth ordering this dish. XO Fried Rice - Delicious and well-executed, though nothing wild. A great side to round out the meal. Would definitely come back--next time with a bigger group to really lean into the family-style experience.

I really like the vibe and aesthetic of this restaurant! Digging the retro cantonese direction and it's very spacious and well designed. My friends and I shared a bunch of dishes so here is my recommendation: 1. Salt and Pepper chicken: the biscuits are so nice and fluffy and the chicken is very tender with a nice crispy outside 2. Braised beef: reminds me of korean galbijim 3. Spicy eggplant Everything else was good but idk if I would order them again. The sesame noodles weren't super memorable, the rice cakes were a good texture but again not standout and the cocktails were average.

    I love the decor

Overview: Come for the excellent, elevated yet authentic Chinese cuisine, stay for the chill vibes, decor and pleasant service. A completely recommend checking out Potluck Club when in Chinatown or in need of a nice yet chill dining experience. Food: 4.5/5 The dishes came out pretty quickly and the portion sizes were shareable. Everything was pretty delicious with robust, satisfying flavors. Yes the price point is steeper than a mom and pop restaurant in Chinatown but the overall experience justifies the costs. We ordered: Braised Short Rib, Oyster Mushroom Noodles, Spicy Eggplant and Tiger Shrimp. No regrets on any of those items and I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu. In terms of adult beverages I had the Puffed Rice Chinese Pale Ale and it was really delectable. I general don't go for Pale Ale but this one was very smooth with notes of fruits. Service: 5/5 We were well taken care of by all. Even the bartender helped out by picking up one of our napkins that fell on the floor. Ambiance: 5/5 The decor is excellent and makes the environment welcoming for dining with friends, a chill date, etc. Evening the dining ware is pleasing. Did I check out the plate manufacturer? I sure did. They're excellently designed (if sleek and modern is your style) and hefty.

Potluck Club is a rather affected, nostalgia-fueled take on Cantonese American cooking. I must admit that I find the concept confusing, however - while Manhattan's Chinatown may be past its heyday, there is no shortage of quality new and legacy Cantonese eateries within a few blocks of here. So why dine at a premium-priced museum when the real thing is still available? I was dining with some non-vegetarians so options were limited, but I tried the snow peas, cheong fun, and scallion biscuits with plum jam. The snow peas were the best item, with good flavor from the roasted garlic. The jyu cheong fun was fine, but could have used a bit more seasoning, and I'm not sure the premium mushrooms added that much to the dish. And I personally didn't love the slight aftertaste of the scallion biscuits. The ambiance is fun and service is friendly, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.

Every dish was so creative, I loved it! My favorites were mushroom potstickers, tiger shrimp, and cold sesame noodles. The salt and pepper chicken was also very good - the plum-chili dipping sauce and scallion biscuits were so unique. I loved the whole experience, the decor and interior design make me feel like I'm in a Hong Kong movie! The staff were very attentive, and the food came out so quickly despite how busy they were.

Everything here is a 5 out of 5!! Every dish worked perfectly. My fav was prob the prawns. It was fried to perfection and the sauce it came with is so good. The fried chicken was not bad but I don't think it was too memorable in my opinion. The pea shoots are always good and the fried rice with lop cherng is a can't miss too. The servers were very attentive and were always checking up on us. We got there when they first opened so we were seated right away. The place is huge and it can fit a good amount of people.

    Is take-out available, hours?

Does this place accept walk ins even if they're fully booked online?

I'm not sure if they were fully booked online when I went but they were busy and I was a walk in. It was Saturday early afternoon, and they offered us (party of 2) seating at the counter.

Can I order the xo fried rice without the sausage?

Can we order the salt and pepper chicken with biscuit during brunch?

When I went a couple of months ago, we were told you can only order it for dinner. The most similar item on the brunch menu is the salt and pepper chicken sandwich with fries.

Is there a cake fee or per plate fee for byo cakes?

Potluck Club answered me via instagram dm and they said no

    Do they accommodate vegetarians?

There are a few vegetarian options, such as the snow pea shoots, spicy eggplant, and I believe the oyster mushroom rice roll noddles; however, it's a bit limited to accommodate vegetarians as the menu is relatively short to begin with.

    Is there happy hour?

When I had dinner there in early Sept 2022, they had only been open for 2-3 months. There was no Happy Hour at the time I went. If I remember correctly, they do have a 6-8 seat bar area in the back where I am guessing you can have your meal with…
