It was flavorful and soothing, and I appreciate the plentiful fried wontons that added a nice crunch. Dim Sum Sampler was yummy and the meats inside were big. Roast Duck Noodle Soup and Sesame Shredded Beef were also really good and it was nice to see how much meat they packed on top. Both duck and beef were tender and juicy. Of course I over ordered so saved some leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still delicious. Notes: This was a delivery order and they were quick! Delivery person had a smile and was friendly. Needing nourishment after running the marathon a picture of Braised Beef noodle soup caught my eye. The restaurant is spacious with white table cloths. The soup was very comforting with a slight heat. The meat was great with a lot of soft connective tissue. The bowl was full of meat and satisfied my cravings. The noodles were just ok. A group of 4 of us dined here on a winter Friday Evening. We'd arrived around 8PM EST and surprisingly had the whole restaurant for ourselves. Totally enjoyed the white tablecloth and napkins with a handmade printed rose . We ordered steamed shrimp dumplings for appetizers. The dumplings were slightly thin with a gigantic shrimp waiting to be eaten inside. It was quite tasty and we could tell it was freshly cooked prior to serving. Each order was served with 4 dumplings, which was great for two people. For drinks, my friend ordered a pot of hot green tea. And two of us ordered a glass of red and white wine each. For entree, we'd shared the below: - Orange Chicken - boneless marinated in soy sauce, and fresh ginger - Chicken with Broccoli - stirred to perfection and utterly delicious Overall the food portion was just enough for serving about two people each. Went to vibe check this new place. Clever name! We were basically there for dumplings and apps which they made fresh for us. The shrimp dumplings were pretty standard. Packed with meat and thin coating of the rice thing outside The pan seared pork dumplings were better than similar restaurants in the neighborhood - I think the filling had very good flavors The soup dumplings were good not great (I may or may not be a soup dumpling snob). As in I'm not going to order it again here. Mostly because I'm sure they make something else that is a lot better We always order Dan Dan noodles at every place we go to. Decent Chinese food. We have walked past this place hundreds of times and went in for the first time for food after some friends mentioned that they go there. Felt bad as the restaurant was totally empty. The staff speak English, but not at a super conversational level so some of my questions about would you recommend A or B were a little awkward. I wasn't expecting much from a Chinese dim sum restaurant this far up on the Upper East Side, but it was a lovely surprise! According to the owner, they've only just started up their weekend dim sum menu, but they are very proud of having hired a real Cantonese chef to oversee the cooking. This isn't our usual Chinese takeout place but because they closed during COVID and have since re-opened, we decided to try and support their business. Unfortunately, we were met with rude service and will not be going back. As mentioned in other reviews, it is extremely overpriced, so our takeout was over $100. While waiting for our food, we asked for a cup of ice and the front of the house/cash register lady first said they don't have ice. When I called her out on it (there were people in the restaurant with ice water), she said she'll have to charge us. I reminded her how much food we had gotten and she told us they charge for everything there. I asked even tap water + ice and she said yes. This was a flat out lie as a server then came up to ask if there was anything we wanted while we wait for our food. This server was extremely nice and gave us some ice - for free, and more importantly, free of any attitude, which we very much appreciated. The register lady, however, clearly does not value her customers, lying to their face (and not to mention, being rude while doing it), which in turn does not make us want to ever support this restaurant again, especially given the many other Chinese (and non-Chinese) restaurants in the neighborhood that are less expensive, much kinder, and have just as good, if not better, food. read more

Best Chinese food on the upper east side hands down, beef and broccoli was amazing and the mei fun!

We have eaten here a number of times over the past six months. The restaurant is generally empty or with just a few tables occupied. The first few times we are there the food was generally quite tasty, but two of the last three times we ate there we were quite disappointed. This downwards trend has convinced us to cross it off our list. We had a chicken dish and a beef dish there and both were less than satisfactory. The chicken was rubbery and the beef was chewy and fatty. The service had generally been quite good but on our last visit it was remarkably slow, which is surprising in light of the few customers. The ambience there is fine, nothing extraordinary, and the restaurant is quite clean. We feel that we were experiencing a marked downwards trend so we will not be returning. read more

Not sure what the affiliation is with the previous Our Place and Our Place China Chalet, but glad to see the Our Place Restaurant return to UES. Both Dine-In and Delivery meals come promptly and are delicious. The Staff is friendly. Some reviews mention the price, but I think their prices are relatively in line with that of other food in the area especially after recent increases in many establishments. The UES tends to have more expensive food options and this is not a dingy takeout/delivery only restaurant. I have tried several other Chinese restaurant in the area and found their food was the possible couple dollars extra per item. I would much rather continue to support businesses like this than the PF Changs and Panda Expresses that have started popping up in Manhattan. read more
