This place is owned by a rude woman who apparently doesn't like money. My wife and I just wanted coffee and dessert and they turned us away saying their "policy" is they don't serve dessert and coffee only. I could understand if the restaurant was busy and they needed the table, but it was 8pm on a Thursday and the place was empty. I asked to speak to the owner, she said she was. She just lost customers. I'll tell all the service industry people I know never to eat here. This may be Babylon's greatest secret. This small Italian restaurant packs a whole bunch of flavor. This place is traditional in ever sense of the word. And if you come here, bring your appetite. You will definitely not leave here hungry. I've frequented this restaurant quite a few times and every time, I have had great food with amazing service. Pro tip: MAKE A RESERVATION! This place is VERY small and only has a few tables for dining in. There is a good chance you will not be able to enjoy a meal here if you do not call ahead. The food is amazing. It is so close to how my grandmother use to cook it's eerie. On my last visit we had the following: cold antipasto, baked clams, fried calamari with cherry peppers in a spicy sauce, shrimp scampi and finally cassatelles. Growing up my grandmother use to make these all the time and it's rare to find a place that does it. If you don't know what a cassatelle is, it is pastry dough with a sweet ricotta filling. It is literally one of the best desserts ever. They don't always have these available and when they do they are first come first serve. Pro tip: Ask if they have cassatelle at the start of your dinner. If they do have them available, I would ask if they can put an order on the side for you. You will thank me later. No matter what you get here the food is amazing. If you grew up in an Italian-American household like I did, you will feel right at home. We came in on a Saturday around 8. We started out with the cold antipasto. It had portobello mushrooms, olives, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, red peppers, Prosciutto and soppressata and cheese. Seasoned to perfection. I had the special Risotto with seafood in a lightly spicy red sauce. It was filled with mussels, clams, calamari. Every bite was delicious. My husband had the special rigatoni with crumbled sausage and mushroom in a light cream mushroom sauce. It was equally delicious a perfect amount. We finished the night with the homemade cannoli cake and coffee. The cake was fresh and awesome. They take cards but no tip on the card so you need cash for tip. I'm so glad we found this place. Firs time going there for dinner on a Saturday night. My brother in law recommended the restaurant to us. I liked that they accepted reservations. The wait staff and receptionist were all warm, friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 appetizers, the baked clams, friend calamari and coconut shrimp. The clams looked delicious but were very small. The calamari were fried beautifully cooked, light and delicious. The coconut shrimp were over cooked to a dark brown and I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. If it weren't for the outstanding entrees And service, I would've given it 4 stars. The stuffed shrimp was delicious! The sauce was light the bed of sautéed broccoli complimented the flavor and they were tender to the bite. Definitely recommended. The farfalle da Vinci, bow tie pasta with peas, prosciutto and mushrooms in a red cream sauce was very good. Spot on with the flavor and presented beautifully. My brother in law and his wife had the BLACK FETTUCCINE PUGLIESE Shrimp and scallops in a creamy garlic sauce as well as the SHRIMP MONOCHINO Shrimp with mixed mushrooms in a marsala sauce topped with fresh mozzarella and loved them. Came here after my bad experience at Armadillo Grill. (Very much looking forward to writing THAT review ) The food here is pretty good, and the decor is cute, but I wasn't exactly blown away by anything I had, save for the edible Orchids that they decorate your plate with. THAT is pretty damned cool. I got eggplant rolatini, and my wife got chicken and mushrooms in a lemon wine butter sauce. Gluten free aware. Have typical penne and are thinking of making gluten free bread. Pastas dishes were awesome. We started with fried calamari that was butter tender and cooked perfectly. Nice marinara. The clams mare chiarra were amazing. We spooned up the broth! Farfalle with bolognese was so rich. You could taste the depth of flavors and the cooking time. The GF penne had chicken, and broccoli rabe, and sun-dried tomatoes in garlic and oil. The pasta was a tiny bit under done but not badly. We shared a wonderful brunello d'alba from Sicily. GF brownie was tasty but served in the plastic wrap to make sure we knew it was GF. Once we thought about it, it made sense. We will definitely return to try the other pasta dishes. read more

The pasta was very very Al dente but didn't complain it also did not have enough sauce so it was on the dry side. Still didn't complain then the bill comes I ask why is my bill 7.95 above the pride for what I ordered she said I have to ask she comes back and said it was for the pasta .I say to her so I get past in my plate and you didn't give me my spinach that came with it and I get a up charge she said yes. I will absolutely never come back here. I came on a Monday night (they are open until 10PM) around 8:45PM, I was meeting a friend. Before I even got there the waitress kept asking my friend when I was going to be there. I finally got there and I sat down. She handed me a menu, came back a minute later and asked if I was ready. I of course wasn't because who can decide in a minute. Then, we finished eating around 9PM and we were finishing our drinks and asked for the check. We were talking and the waitress kept passing us back and forth, seeing if our cards were with the check. Then, they had the other waitress come up and to us and say, "Oh are you waiting on us". Clearly, we weren't but then put our CC down. I've never felt so rushed out of a restaurant in my life. It was like they were all starring at us waiting for us to be done. I was in my car by 9:30PM. They close at 10PM. My advise to this place... don't stay open until 10PM if you don't want customers to come in and eat dinner. To rush a customer or make a customer feel rushed is absolutely ridiculous. Learn how to treat people who come in to give you business. Saturday night dining experience in late July 2018. Were seated on time but told they couldn't accommodate separate checks for the two couples . Really; what planet are they on? New waitress was a dud (remember her from The Argyle across the street. No customer service acumen; very rude Shrimp appetizer was awesome; 5 stars. House Merlot was great as well and worth the price. The entree, Cod fish, was dismal. Hard, chewy, almost as if it had been frozen...? The pasta turned into a solid bowl of stuck together angel hair. Never had this elsewhere or at home. The guy handling desert service was very nice and the berry marscapone cake was very very good. Almost salvaged the entire experience. Almost. Overall, these folks think a lot more of themselves than they deserve. They aren't so bad that you shouldn't go so check it out and see if your experience is different than ours. read more

My family and I were going to this restaurant tonight to celebrate my birthday. But I got sick with 104 fever and have strep throat. My daughter forgot to cancle the reservation because she was worried about me and her kids were sick. My daughter received a call from the floor manager that was not appropriate. The manager was rude and hung up on my daugher. My daughter was very apologetic when she received the call. Needless to say we will not be going to this restaurant EVER! When she finally arrived she was handed a menu and not even a minute later we were asked if we knew what we wanted to order- no! We started off with the Coconut Shrimp with a ginger orange marmalade dipping sauce just incredible - light, fluffy, cooked perfectly (no coconut flying off in face), but that ginger in the sauce made the difference, this was just not the ordinary, standard, run of the mill coconut shrimp... Great start! Hubs had the hankering for the Codfish Portofino and just like he remembered, outstanding & delicious. I wanted something different and went with the Veal de Villaggio... Veal scollopine with onions, peas, mushrooms, prosciutto and a yummy white wine sauce!!! (insert drooling face..) Way too stuffed for dessert, the menu looked incredible thou....
