The first thing I noticed when I entered the restaurant was welcoming the atmosphere is. perfect for intimate setting or friends gathering. There is a lovely size bar too. For appetizer we tried the wings, nicely priced and the wings were on the bigger side. The entrees we ordered were beautiful in presentation. I had the Fresh Branzino which was served with delicious fingerling potatoes and an asparagus romesco that was decadent. The Brick Chicken was also a selection, very tender . Lastly the Roast Prime Rib was so tender and exceptionally juicy - just incredible. As a beer enthusiast, the draft selection was nice. The only issue is that the draft list wasn't in the presented updated so a beer I wanted was not available. I had a Samuel Adams winter ale - perfect temperature. Blackfish splashes into the neighborhood with good intentions, kind and friendly staff, a beautiful interior, but a mixed mark and some stumbles. It starts with the valet only approach, with apparently is due to space issues, neighbors, and I guess owner feuds because that was pretty annoying to start where you can't just self park, and there are signs next door that say you'll get towed if you park there, so that was annoying. The menu and vibe clash pretty hard, the restaurant is beautifully done and fresh, but the menu reads tavern/bar which is like, an upscale sports bar? Maybe? There was a huge party going on upstairs and management apologized saying they started late, ran over, and they tried to keep noise down after others were getting annoyed at that, so that was a management stress. Our server was very friendly, but very nervous, I just went with the smash-burger as she said that is their staple, and my fiance got the clam chowder. Comes with a bread basket which was fresh bread and good butter, that was nice, also plenty of water refills, which always make me appreciate the place more. The burger, was huge, and the value of it being $20 was justified, as it came with these curly type fries which were crunchy, but flavorless, so dips are encouraged. Also, the burger was filling, but flavorless, the kitchen needs to have more spices on their patties to make it a great burger, it was just okay. The Clam Chowder was good, very creamy and fresh. Overall for a $30 plus dinner, not too bad, but definitely some kinks need to be worked out. read more

Nice looking bar, plenty of TVs. Wings were decent but that was about it. The short rib grilled cheese had one slice of cheese and was so unbelievably greasy. I had two bites until the bottom piece of bread gave out. Smashburger was forgettable. Fries were tasteless. Even the ketchup was weird. Our waitress seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else. Literally everything was fantastic - the branzino was the best, crispy, flaky, spiced well! Prime rib was massive, and came with unbelievable creamed spinach- like who raves about creamed spinach???? My first time here and I loved it. The ambience here is so nice and private. The bar has amazing mocktails along with cocktails. We had the blood orange mocktail and really liked it. The Caesar salad was gone by the end of the dinner we couldn't stop picking at it. We also had the branzino but I had to pack it to go after a few bites. It was super good and potatoes were crispy and the sauce paired really well. But I got super full from the chicken parm! It was a nice thick cut chicken cooked well and huge portion! Overall I had a great experience. We had the fried bread pudding dessert and it was very delicious as well. It was really nice touch to end our dinner. Hope to come back again. My husband and I dropped in for lunch to experience their Restaurant Week Specials. We started with the chicken wings which were cooked to perfection!! They were not your run of the mill flavorless small wings drenched in sauce for flavor. These wings were crisp on the outside with a surprise juicy meat on the inside. The baked clams I ordered were delicious with minimal breadcrumbs and delicious whole clams. . We both ordered the French Dip sandwiches which were made of thinly sliced tender prime rib with melted provolone between a house baked Ciabatta roll~ Yummy!! My friends and I went last night and had such a great experience! The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking, which was awesome since we didn't have to stress about finding a spot on a busy night. The hostess was super friendly and let us pick where we wanted to sit, and we were seated right away. The place itself is beautiful and really spacious with two floors. Downstairs has a big bar with tons of seating, and upstairs has a more traditional dining area plus outdoor seating, which is a nice touch. Our waitress was amazing super attentive and always made sure our drinks were full. The food was delicious. We shared an order of wings that were extra crispy and perfectly sauced. I got the smash burger for my main, and it was really good honestly some of the best fries I've had in a while too. My friend got the French dip and said it was excellent. The portions were generous, and we all left stuffed. The owner even stopped by our table to check in, which was really nice. This was a very pleasant surprise... Extremely simple menu and simple/sports bar surroundings( multiple TVs) but it turned out. The food was excellent as was the service and valet parking a real, plus in this nasty weather. One cheesesteak sandwich... Delicious one Reuben sandwich delicious. But the best of all were the french fries. You haven't lived until you've had french fries deep-fried in beef tallow. These are not string cut they're thick cut and curly and absolutely out of this world. We will be back. PS if you don't wanna have your fries done in the beef tallow, you can request a different oil. After the long wait for the transformation from Elijah Churchill's to Blackfish Tavern, we finally made it in and had a great night! Very nice interior and bar area (clean and contemporary), with an upstairs dining room that we did not see yet... but we will, as we will definitely be back. All of our food choices were excellent, from the bread basket, which has a nice assortment and soft whipped butter! Nothing worse than hard, useless butter. The braised short rib was top notch, the fried ravioli with burrata cheese were excellent, and the chicken Milanese was nicely done. Nice draft beer selection served icy cold, and nice cocktail menu. The fresh daily made desert menu looked good, we had the French cheesecake and it was excellent. All in all a great night, definitely worth the wait and we will be back to this new neighborhood gem! read more

Went to this restaurant the other night for a party, had the room upstairs to ourself, Wait staff were very nice, Cocktails were delicious! We had most of the Apps. Clams were good, as were the wings, Calamari was tasteful with a little crunch. Shrimp cocktail were big and fresh. Entrees, I had the Chicken Parm it was tender and tasty with a large amount of Burrata on the top, my wife had the Branzino which was perfectly prepared. I felt it was a bar with food not the restaurant i expected. The downstairs is very very loud. I will give it another chance in a few weeks after they work out the kinks. But the food was just ok. The reviews didn't look great but they seemed petty. I'm ok with having to valet my car. If you can't afford 5$ you should stay home. We had the crab cakes and calamari for appetizers. I usually don't like crab cakes. They usually have too much breading. These were the best I've ever had. The calamari was good. We had the swordfish( very good). Burger was good. Short ribs were good. The service was very good and I liked the separate seating upstairs from the more sports bar downstairs. All in all we really enjoyed the whole night. read more

They really need a better system for the bar. I understand it was the first Saturday night but it took 30 min to get a drink after we ordered. Then my wifes cosmo was NOT a cosmo. My husband and I wanted to try this new restaurant last weekend with another couple. Upon walking in the restaurant was way too bright for my liking. We were seated upstairs in the dining area. They were out of 3 things that we wanted to order, pork chops, prime rib and the shrimp app. I ordered a salad only for the waitress to come back and tell me they were out of stock on that as well. Soooo I ordered the chicken and my friends husband ordered a shrimp dinner. My chicken arrived and it was so dry. My friends husband shrimp had cream sauce all over it and the shrimp were the 5 shrimp were the smallest I have ever seen in my life. We called the waitress over and sent back both our meals. We were never asked if we wanted anything else and the manager came over and apologized and offered us dessert. We said no thank you but we wanted coffee and cappuccinos. They do not have coffee or cappuccinos...how is this even possible?? When we received our check we were shocked that they did not take our meals off the check. Talk about terrible customer service. Fair to say we will never be back and I will never recommend. read more

We went here for lunch. The ambiance and decor were really nice inside, with cool lighting and an inviting bar with all of the TVs. Their wings are some of the best we've had, with a nice portion for the price but we were VERY disappointed about the portion size of the salads for the price point ($18-20 each!). The salads, no joke, were what I would consider a side salad portion (you know the ones that come in those little bowls). Everyone was finished within 10 minutes; that's how small they were. At one point I even thought well maybe this is their lunch portion and will be cheaper than $20. Oh no. That was their full size salad which cost them less than $5 to make given the large amounts of celery and cheaper "filler" vegetables used. Service could have been better as well; it was pretty slow given the lack of customers in the restaurant where service should be faster. All that being said, despite how good the wings were, we won't be returning since there are other great restaurants out there that give you better menu options (they have a very limited menu) and portions that align with the price that is advertised. As a new restaurant, your main goal should be to create a good first impression. Unfortunately for us, that wasn't the case.
