Absolutely Terrible. I called ahead to be sure we could be seated and that was not a problem. We were seated immediately on a Sunday afternoon. I was the first to arrive out of a party of 3 and went ahead and ordered an appetizer and a drink. Took a while to get that. Then I had to chase down our server, Sam, to place our entree order which took forever to come out. The eggs on the Eggs Benedict plates were overcooked slightly. I could have overlooked that had the service been good. After our plates were cleared and we were obviously finished since no one ordered dessert, coffee or ANYTHING, I had to chase her down again to get the check. I hope i didn't interrupt her conversation with the other server back in the corner of the restaurant. She did offer me a 10% discount for the kitchen delay! Not sure how 3.50 is 10% of $74.00 (or even 54.00 if you take out the 2 10.00 alcoholic drinks)!!! read more

This was my first visit. Family raved about Intermezzo. I was very disappointed. Jordan, our wait staff took over 10 minutes to come by. When we asked for a few more minutes she didn't come back for 20 minutes. Our coffees and brie were cold. I had to search down the manager to ask for plates and utensils. Again, one off our party had to track her down to get our bill. I will not return on my future visits to Atlanta. read more

Then took him 10 minute to get our drinks took another 10 minutes to get us sugar once we were done we waited around 15-20 minutes to ask for the check since we saw he was no where to be found we asked 4 different people for the check including him once we finally got our check by someone else that wasn't even a server we pues in cash and left it on the table me and my friend were walking out and he yells at us hey y'all haven't payed which we did but he didn't know because he wasn't checking up on us . This was our first time visiting this place and I was the one who recommend it to my friend . The first time I came here a year ago on my trip to Atlanta I feel in love with this establishment. I sat at the bar for four hours talking with the bartender. A year later, something changed. I came here with an old friend from high school. We put our drink order in at 12:11pm. At 12:45 still no drinks. We were so engaged in our conversation that we lost track of time. We ended up walking out. I had such a great experience during the first time, and the Irish Coffee's are to die for so I will assume it was a fluke and will try Cafe Intermezzo again during my next trip to the ATL. read more

What happened to this place? The service was horrific! Our waitress took over 30 min to take our order, it was another 20 min to get our coffee and the another 20 to get our dessert. I finished my coffee before getting my dessert. By the time we got our dessert, I asked for the check and to go containers. Thankfully I had cash to pay the check, who knows how long it would have taken if I paid with my card. I won't be returning to this location. read more

It's my most favorite spot for date night. We have been going here for years and we enjoy the desert and coffee beverages. What influenced me to leave a review this time was the outstanding service we received from Kelly Kayaveda . I immediately enjoyed her service and instantly asked for her name. She explained in great details the making of each cake in their display. I took her advice and absolutely loved the cake she recommended. This place is amazing! It's decorated like a European Coffee House. The menus are broken down into food and a separate for drinks. The drink menu is extremely thorough. There are drinks ranging from coffee and tea to wine and beer to absinthe. The food was very good. My wife and I came here on three separate occasions during the week. Once for breakfast, once for a late lunch, and once for late night drinks and dessert. The first two visits were great! Excellent service, great food, and great drinks. Used to love going here with my husband when we were dating, so it was a great dissappointment last night. No longer do you get a tour of the desserts, dozens of fabulous looking cakes, pies, and tortes with no labels that aren't labeled, so you have no idea what they are. The fancy coffees are wonderful, but we had to wait a good long time and make a couple of inquiries before we got any service. I definitely would NOT recommend it. read more

Having enjoyed the Buckhead and how airport (??!!!!) locations, I was surprised to have a mediocre breakfast at the perimeter location this weekend. Their breakfast menu, like the rest of the food is European themed, with crepes, croissants and french egg dishes. But the food was not up to par with their desserts or sandwiches. Heavy, under-seasoned and uninspired, my eggs and croissant left me disappointed. Go for the great coffee, huge tea menu, great atmosphere and service. Just don't expect a great breakfast. read more

Hello Mr. Olson, I am going to celebrate my bday with a few girlfriends at the Dunwoody location tomorrow. I am a really worried about the service's bad reviews. I hope you are reading the reviews posted online, about that specific location, so you could make sure that the patrons will be taken better care. The two locations that I have been to, are very lovely places, with excellent food/ gourmet coffee/drinks, but I am concerned with all the bad reviews. I have thought about going somewhere else, but again, I will give it a shot, with the hopes that after tomorrow, I will be putting up a great review...so from past experience, I will give it 5 stars today. it is a very nice and cozy place to have friends together for mingling. I had friends from out of town came and took them there and they all like it. I would have liked to have given this place a higher rating as my duck and fig crepe was delicious. However the service was not good. We did not have our water glasses refilled, I was not offered more wine. Our group was not asked if we wanted coffee or desert, which we most likely would have said yes to. May 18, 2014 -Myself and my BF went to this café to grab some sweets for later at home. While it was busy as always, we managed to get our slip and headed over the register located at the bar. There we wait while two other customer were taking care of. Now, it was our turn-the Bartender, didn't say hello or even look at us as we stood right in front of the register awaiting his attention. I asked my BF, if I should handle this or should he. While my love said, it looks like he is really busy.. let's give him a chance.. another TEN minutes went by...making the total .. 17 minutes and not even a hello.. I was getting very very upset... My love put the slip down where the and looked the Bartender in the eyes making him stop to take notice and said .. we will just come another time. Now, the Bartender wasn't that busy .. he just refused to acknowledge us. It was rude .. my bf is Spanish and I am not.. the Bartender was Spanish.... However, my love would not make a fuss.. My wife and i have been to this location many times, and like many other reviews here, the service it's almost always well below par. I never go in expecting great service. It's one of the only places to get a glass of "absinthe" around here, so i can put up with the arrogant wait staff. On our last visit we sat at the bar for drinks and cheesecake. The bartender insisted on calling everyone "baby". My wife ordered her cocktail with no problem, but when I ordered a glass of Pernod, I was told they didn't have it. I pointed out the bottle which was right behind the bartender, which seemed to be the first of many things to irritate her. After making her excuse, she pours it into a shot glass and slides it across the bar to me as if I were wearing spurs and a large Stetson. I APOLOGIZE and explain the correct way to serve "absinthe" , asking for their copper carafe or copper pot with ice water in it. This was a mistake. She immediately told me i was wrong and that they again "don't have that". She disappears for almost 20 minutes and comes back with two absinthe spoons, slides those across the bar and says "that's all we have". I tried to explain that at both locations I was given this copper pot with ice water. She then got so loud that everyone in the bar area is staring at us. A manager then comes over shoos her away and resolved the issue. After enjoying our drinks, we decided on a slice of cheesecake (which is always amazing). Cafe Intermezzo would be a great destination if only the service was overhauled. Food and drinks are great! Staff on the other hand is awful. read more

This was really a nice find. A nice little cafe/restaurant with a theme centered around classical-music composers. Classy but casual. The food was wonderful. We had wine, seafood crepe, brie, seafood crepe, tiramisu, ... and did I mentioned the seafood crepe? :-) It was all really good and not too pricey. Extensive wine list in addition to an array of coffees. Interesting tidbit: We almost didn't go. When we arrived they had an alarm going off which they seemed unable to turn off. While pricey,the drinks and desserts are definitely worth it. You could probably go there every day of the year without repeating the beverages. The atmosphere is a nice, bustling one, with enough privacy for a conversation, and the dim lighting mellowing you out. Yes, it can take a while for you to get seated if it's a busy night, but that's anywhere. The service is variable- it depends on who is your server. I went twice, and once my waiter was this older gentleman who was rude, ill-mannered and we had to literally grab him by the sleeve to get straws, order, and later to get our check. However, I also went on NYE and Lorraine was absolutely fantastic- she was cheerful, professional and speedy, even though the place was packed. All in all, 4 stars :) read more

I was there with my mom at 330pm October 20th. It was slow, maybe 3-4 tables were occupied. It took over 10min to get someone to come to us, then another 10 to get our coffees which were cold..not by choice. When we finally finished our coffees mom and I decided to order wine but our waiter was nowhere to be found. Another 5 minutes or so when by before we asked someone else to grab our waiter...this kept happening the entire time. Is very sad because I stop by for the memories this place brings me. I love Cafe Intermezzo because of their decor and the staff! The deserts are pretty good but too extensive and some of the stuff on the menu, we had no idea what they were. Maybe it's just my wife and me that doesn't know much about European coffee but I wish the descriptions could be more clear. Came here with some coworkers and loved it. I got some coffee liqueur drink that I can't pronounce. It was pretty awesome. The wait staff was amazing and the spicy tortellini Alfredo was everything I needed in life (overkill, but it was THAT good). The ebony and ivory cake was even better. Had a great time at this location. Came in at 12AM with my friends. The waitress was attentive and polite. And the hot coco I ordered was the best I've ever had! I also had a sandwich which is was delicious. I've been to the location in Atlanta and this one is way better in both service and food. This places is designed to look like its high end but all it really provides is very high prices for average food and extremely slow service. If you want a cake you have to go to the bar and check if its there.... Then wait forever to get your waiter to come and get it for you. Last time I went to pick a piece to go it took me 30 minutes.
