What an absolutely incredible place! The most delicious coffee in Nashville without a doubt! Their lattes are some of the best! We've been to the location in Alpharetta, Georgia before and it tasted just as good The one in Nashville feels much bigger inside! But the same amazing interior - the way the bar is decorated with an old school Italian steam espresso machine, the bronze tiles on the ceiling and beautiful chandeliers! The menu is excellent, whichever food item you decide to order! Their tomato soup is a good place to start with! Savory seafood crepes and French croissants so as Roast-beef sandwiches were delicious and their selection of cakes is amazing! We've had the bosco berry cake and the almond cake and both were incredibly tasty with a cup of classic latte, which is strong and flavorful! A cute café in the middle of downtown Nashville with okay food, but the desserts here are the real star. Smoked Salmon Pasta: 3/5 This was an interesting fusion of a common breakfast food with something usually eaten for dinner. However, it didn't work for me. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauce was too creamy and didn't have much flavor outside of the cream, which made the smoked salmon and capers absolutely necessary to provide some needed saltiness. Cookie Dough Cheesecake: 4/5 Got this to-go because I knew I would feel full after the pasta but managed to eat a couple of bites anyway. It was delicious! The cheesecake had a richly creamy texture, with a light layer of whipped cream on top. However, I do wish that there was more cookie dough flavor dispersed throughout the cheesecake besides the chocolate-covered disk of cookie dough topping the slice. Service: 3/5 Our server was attentive and friendly. I also appreciate how the business employs someone with Down syndrome to help out in the front of the house. However, the disappointing thing is that my friend, who is allergic to pecans, ended up unknowingly ordering a pasta dish that contains pecans because the menu doesn't indicate the common allergens in each dish and our server also never asked us about allergies. read more

Wow! This place is amazing. My wife and I had a wonderful experience while we were in Nashville. We actually found this place by accident, while walking around downtown exploring the city. I'm so glad we did. It truly felt like we were in a French bistro. My wife had the braise salmon portofino and I had the salmon pasta. Both were delicious. The staff was warm and personable and we had great interaction with management about things to do in the city. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Nashville. I took my girlfriend here for hot chocolates, and I just want to say wow. They served up some of the tastiest, richest, creamiest hot chocolate I've ever had! The service was okay, we were there at an odd time in the day, and I think our server was a little bothered we weren't ordering food, but she did a great job nonetheless. This is a really great spot for coffees, teas, hot chocolates, or whatever else is on their menu (I am sure it's all tasty). It's very clean and dapper on the inside as well. So first things first I do love this place solely for the food and coffee. The food and drinks are good although does move at a very slow pace. I live in the building attached to the cafe and am very much so a regular. Every time I have people in town I take them here for an espresso martini. However the last time I was in there my boyfriend and I walked up to the bar and was immediately rudely approached by who I assume was the manager that told us we couldn't get a drink unless we were both sitting at the bar and said that it was a rule? We both work downtown in the industry so we had never heard of this. So apparently you cannot stand and order a drink? You are a location downtown Nashville and have 6 bar seats what do you expect ? There was only one seat left so my boyfriend let me sit in it. I was told he wouldn't be served until he was sitting. Fast forward to a week later we tried to go in there again this time the bartender was rude about one of their girls "not getting served" (mind you there was only ONE other customer in the whole place) until she sat down we got up and left again. I have brought a lot of people and business to this place and unfortunately from the attitude of the manager, certain bartenders and the new "rule" we will be finding other places to spend our time and money and I'll not recommend this place to others anymore. read more

Amazing!!!! I visited here when I was in need of a cocktail (or 5) because my flight on 9/11 back to California. I walked in here and was immediately greeted by the cook with a smile! I took a seat by a regular at the bar. I enjoyed an amazing conversation with the bar tender and regular. I ordered a screwdriver, avocado toast, and scrambled eggs. I took one bite into the scrambled eggs and almost passed out they were SO good!! The toast was amazing!! It's a little expensive, but for the taste and ambience the price is just right. I will never forget this place!! Hopefully my work will send me back to Nashville and this stop will DEFINITELY be on my itinerary. read more

I would like to start off this review by saying that I came on the Fourth of July, so Downtown Nashville was very packed and parking was a nightmare. I highly recommend the Nashville Library parking lot even if you do have to walk around a bit to get here on busy holidays or weekends. I am assuming that on other days where there isn't as many people you could probably find closer parking lot. The wait for a table was about 10 minutes which wasn't bad considering that they only had one server, and there wasn't as many people inside, but I would probably call ahead because I could probably see how it could be really packed since the place isn't that big. I ordered the intermezzo cappuccino which was very tasty. The expresso is VERY strong, but the coffee is very good. They have a variety of cakes to choose from. The triple chocolate cake was moist and not too sweet. My husband had the American breakfast which was a good price. I had the Naan and Lox which I highly recommend. Fancy schmancy but not at all snooty. I was pleasantly surprised by this spot as we stopped in for a quick lunch on a Friday around 1pm. We were dressed very causally and came in with a baby and didn't feel out of place one bit. We were seated immediately by an incredible host. I love that they had a young man with special needs at the front of the house! The interior was super duper fancy, the staff were dressed elegantly and the music all lent itself well to the upscale European cafe vibes. Amidst the ambiance, it was such a relaxing experience and our waitress was so laid back and down to earth. My table got two cappuccinos: the Caffè Intermezzo (strong almond flavor) and the Peanut Butter Cup Cappuccino (sweet and peanut buttery with the slightest hint of cocoa). Both were extremely smooth and tasty albeit extremely overpriced in my opinion. They were more similar to a latte than a cappuccino as our waitress had warned us since there was a much higher milk to espresso ratio than in a typical cup. Good luck choosing what to order because their drink menu is MASSIVE. We then ordered the Beet Root Salad and the Truffled Cheese Melt Sandwich with chips. The salad was surprisingly massive and hearty. It is on par with similar goat cheese, fruit/root, nut, and balsamic salads I've had. I commend them for not over dressing the salad which I've come across too often and the candied pecans weren't sweet which was a pleasant surprise. The Truffle sandwich was much less rich than expected and we honestly couldn't really taste the truffle. Not at all complaining, it was a great sandwich but just something to note if you're expecting to get hit over the head with truffle flavor. It was rich in that it was fatty and savory but wasn't a very flavor forward sandwich. Our sweet waitress said the chips were homemade, but were oddly identical to cape cod chips. Again, this isn't a complaint, but we just thought it was funny. Their desserts looked lovely and if we had saved room, we definitely would've given one of their cakes a try. All in all, a great place to stop in for a quick bite or a fancy dinner. The staff is welcoming and friendly but it is a bit overpriced in my opinion. More than anything you're be paying for the incredible location/ambiance rather than mind blowing food/drinks. read more

The decoration is super cool, apparently the owner went to Italy and was super inspired by the architecture and decoration there so he wanted to recreate something similar at the cafe where people will come in and have the same experience as he did over there. Ordered the braised salmon portofino and spicy seafood dip. Seafood dip was pretty heavy (had lots of cream) so I'd recommend to not order that in the blazing Nashville summer heat :) Salmon was good, I liked the mussels (which came with the dish) a lot. We had a friendly waitress and good service. The bathrooms have language learning audios playing through the speaker. Really enjoyed everything we had. My favorite was the naan & lox, highly recommend. It has a sweet poppy seed vinaigrette mixed with the arugula that complimented the lox nicely. We were seated by the window overlooking the street and ordered a pretty extensive brunch spread - veggie egg white omelette (whole eggs subbed, side of rosemary potatoes), spicy tortellini and apple french toast. We also ordered a mocha and chamomile tea. The tortellini, potatoes and omelette were absolutely delicious. French toast was fairly good, if a little dry. Tea and mocha were some of the best we've ever had. All food/drink was presented nicely. The cafe gives you a chance to pause, relax and savor your food and drink. I ordered takeout from here. Awful experience. When I got home I realized they didn't include one of the breakfast frittatas at all. The one I did get tasted terrible. The eggs were so over cooked and dry. It also looked like they either forgot to fill my cappuccino drink (more than half was missing), or someone drank most of it. There was also NO schlag on top, and I had requested extra. We have gone completely out of our way to support local businesses during Covid. We do not dine in; we order takeout to stay safe. We went here around 11am on a Saturday. Cafe Intermezzo is a really lovely restaurant with a stunning interior (like you are in France a century ago). They have an on-line waiting line via the Yelp app, but it was not busy when we visited. You can chose to sit outside on a patio, but since he was hot we stayed inside with that AC. They have a really long espresso and latte menu (including drinks with alcohol). I do not like coffee, so had the hot chocolate with whipped cream. It was absolutely rich and delicious--then when you were finished there are little chocolate chips you can eat. They have a really great selection pastries, but since I was in a healthy mood I decided to get the green salad with strawberries and blueberries. It was excellent, the fruit was really fresh, I loved the goat cheese and pecans, and the vinaigrette was great. I also tried the egg white omelet with broccolini. Great little place off of broadway. The atmosphere was great small cafe that kept the loud noise on the outside. The app was to die for. The bruschetta was on point, the bread was perfectly toasted was shaved parm and tomatoes with a balsamic reduction drizzle.
