Poor customer service. Went in here twice while staying nearby. Both times different workers were very rude and unwelcoming.

New favorite spot. Such a romantic European vibe. Food was absolutely delicious and service was great. Will definitely be back!

Covid isn't, and never really was, a thing... I had a $15 sandwich that was ACTUALLY worth the money. The Chicken Pomodora sandwich is one of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had. That being said, it IS a bit messy to eat. Tender chicken, crush (or maybe diced) pomodora tomatoes generous amounts of cheese. I think the tomatoes may have been seasoned with a bit of diced onion and sweet pepper... almost like an Italian pico de gallo. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu... I am new to town and was taking my dog out to the park. I wanted to come and grab a coffee to-go because it was chilly out. I had called prior to make sure coming in to get coffee would be fine with my dog. On the phone they said "that's fine as long as you aren't staying." So I go. I get in the restaurant and the girl making coffee asked me my dog's name and told me she was cute and continued her job. Then another man approached me and asked if I was placing an order to go. I said yes, then he left. Then a man in a suit comes to me and tells me I must leave because they don't allow dogs. I told him about me calling prior. He didn't care and told me to leave because it's not a service animal. Even though he didn't ask if she was a service animal but at this point I was having so much anxiety, so I left. However, I called back to inform them how unprofessional it is to have people giving incorrect information. To be told it's a strict "policy" and the man who told me to leave was the general manager. I don't understand how a GM could possibly fail to have 3 of his employees who talked to me before hand not know about this policy. If they did they know, they sure didn't say anything about it. The man I spoke to when I called later to let them know how upset I was to be given wrong information kept asking if no one told me about the service animal rule. NOPE. Not a single person, from the first phone call to the two workers. He then proceeded to act like they definitely asked me and I was making it up. How rude. I respect dog policy's, hence why I called in advance. I have extreme anxiety, don't embarrass someone because you let an employee answer a phone who isn't aware of the rules at the workplace. Clearly the GM isn't doing a good job at enforcing his policy's to the workers. I will not be promoting such unprofessional management. read more

Cafe Intermezzo is the least Demonbreun place on Demonbreun. Right next to The Diner and the Southern, Cafe Intermezzo isn't like anything else in this area. When you walk in, you feel like you've walked into a cafe in Europe. The music, the chairs, the printed menus, the little tables, the chandeliers, the closed in patio...you walk in and you feel like you've left Nashville entirely (certainly downtown!). We were leaving the Schermerhorn after a symphony Friday night, and we walked past Cafe Intermezzo as we walked back to our parking garage. We're hardly ever in this part of downtown, but I'd walked past Cafe Intermezzo several times between parking garage and Schermerhorn. On Friday, I said: "Not tonight. Tonight we go in." We walked in and were seated at a little table on their charming patio. Then we took at look at the beverage menu. Which is like a book. It has a TABLE OF CONTENTS. And the menu has everything: teas, coffee drinks, boozy coffee drinks, cocktails, champagnes, absinthes, whiskeys, beers, wines, etc. I wasn't sure if I wanted a pick me up or a nightcap, so I got their Cappuccino La Scala: cappuccino with chocolate and almond liquors. Delicious. My husband got a real coffee. I can't speak to their food, but I can say that I'd be happy to come here again before and/or after the next symphony I attend. The staff are really sweet and they have some really yummy dishes. I had the Caesar salad with salmon and it was a bit salty, but tasty. The Belgian waffle is really crispy and tasty. My mom and auntie liked their egg croissant sandwich. The lattes were all very sweet but all in all, it was a nice lunch. read more

My husband took me here for our Valentines dinner date and I just fell in love with this place. The ambiance is beautiful and quaint. The food was amazing and the service was so genuine. I loved the full cake tort as desert as part of there valentines dinner special. The crap dip and seafood crepe were to die for. My husband loved his pasta. If you are looking for a good craft coffee this is not the place. I found this place on yelp. I wanted a good latte. Brought my uncle and my cousin thinking i was going to treat them to a delicious coffee. It was disaster we ordered 2 lattes and a cappuccino and they both looked and tasted the same. I hate when they put a bartender or a waiter or a chef to make craft coffees to save money. Please train them to use the machine and make a correct espresso and froth the milk...... it was terrible.... I was impressed with the machine you have but not the coffee it was terrible. The food here is absolutely disgusting along with their open kitchen, it stays dirty and cluttered with cross contamination. The mixed drinks, coffee, and service is wonderful. The food on the other hand is all frozen and prepackaged. Their Hollandaise sauce is prepackaged, which is an absolute disgrace to the Culinary Arts. Great place for a latte, horrific for a meal. I've been to this cafe with some friends & was treated well. I brought my father & brother and had a horrible experience. First, I was told the wait time was 25-30 minutes so I was fine with it. We were greeted by Melissa 10 minutes after we had been sitting. She had an attitude the whole time & was late with bringing out our drinks. Nice people greeting and serving, but this wasn't a good experience for me. The Tiramisu which I bought was decent enough (I've had better and I've had many worse), but I couldn't finish the coffee (latte) it was too bitter. The place is a bit loud, and the chairs are rather packed in there, so I felt a bit squished. Maybe this would be fine for a meal but it shouldn't be portrayed as an equivalent to Bongos and other coffee shops. Different kind of experience. They had a drink menu which seemed to lean towards fancy alcoholic coffee drinks and overpriced shots of liquor. They serve Bruschetta but the waiter who served the ladies next to me didn't know how to pronounce it. My coffee and Tiramisu cost me $18.24 I wish them well, but I won't be back. read more
