After work I stopped by this new local spot located in the Sobro apartment building. The decor was warm, intimate, and inviting. The staff was super friendly. This would be a perfect date spot. I had the Tiramisu and Carrot cake. Both were spectacular. The manager explained that all their pastries and desserts are made in Atlanta and brought down weekly. Cafe intermezzo is one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville! I was truly impressed with their Brie the first time I was there. The mix of figs, brie and freshly baked bread was simply awesome! I had the salmon pasta, A thin fillet of pasta which was well seasoned over a bed of bowties and white sauce with capers, delicious. The Croque Monsour Sandwich was AH-FREAKING-MAZING! Can't say I've ever had to eat a sandwich with fork and knife before, but for this sandwich, I definitely did not complain. The restaurant however, I was a little disappointed in considering our white tablecloth was either extremely dirty or covered in stains. I've been to the Atlanta area location and liked the food better. This Nashville location was alive but the dessert fell short. Cakes were dry. The service was good and the balcony seating was amusing (Nashville seems to be the bride-to-be hub ) so there were a lot of pedaling groups with sashes. Although the three of us ordered a different cake the flavors were not distinctive, the chocolate layers were bland. The names of the slices were forgettable. Maybe it was the lateness of the day that caused the cake to be dry. I'll try them again just for the people watching. But definitely get middle slices. read more

My family came here as a last resort since there were very limited restaurant options open due to Covid shutting down all the bars in Nashville. They serve breakfast all day so I took advantage of that and got a waffle with strawberries, and when I say it was THE BEST WAFFLE I've ever had, I mean it. Worst place I've ever NOT eaten... let me explain. We arrived at 3:30pm today looking for a table for 5 + my 6mo old baby that i was holding in my arms. The hostess told us it would be a 20 min wait - despite the MANY empty tables on the floor.... We waited for about 40 minutes, and even asked if we could sit at their dessert bar to have coffee and cake- thats all we wanted... the answer was "yes, if there is a spot on the bar." There wasn't, so we waited... the hostess ended his shift, nobody came to see us or check to see if we needed anything since it had been 45+ minutes and i was holding a baby the entire time.. Finally there was a spot at their bar and we decided to sit there since it had been a long time waiting and no update on our table- again, many people left and nobody called our table! I sat at the bar holding my sleeping baby, and still nobody came to take our order. One waitress finally came, not to help us but to tell me i couldnt sit in their "bar" (its a coffee shop............not a real bar) because i had a baby and if i was there nobody could order alcohol. I told her we just wanted a coffee and dessert and she said: if you sit here no other costumer can order a drink... No care whatsoever that we had been waiting for a table at this empty coffee place, but she cared that the lady using their computer to work at their "bar" wouldnt be able to order alcohol..... We left, paid 20$ for parking to wait for 1hour+ at the worst place for costumer service i have ever experienced! So disappointed for such a high end expensive place to get a piece of cake! My family and I ended up here unexpectedly as we stopped in Nashville on our way home to Chicago from Daytona. Much to our surprise, most of downtown was closed (the week prior it seemed so full of life). We stumbled upon this restaurant as it was near the garage we parked, and it was a hidden gem. It serves breakfast all day, which was a nice surprise. Salads were tasty and plentiful, Main dishes were appealing and a step up from standard Italian dishes. Overall it was a great experience, and the staff was amazing. All of them were great, and each checked in on us during our dining experience. We are so glad to have found it and will definitely stop in next time we are in town, and will save room for those delicious looking desserts. read more

I just ordered some food from Cafe Intermezzo on postmates and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. My meal was $35 for two crepes and some potatoes. Both crepes were incredibly overpriced for what was delivered. The crepes were SO small and one was $11 while the second was $14. Also, I ordered side potatoes and the amount of potatoes was incredibly small. It filled a quarter of a small food container. Quite disappointed. read more
