    Crab Cake Benedict
    Tanya D.

We came here for brunch. It was a beautiful day and we were able to sit outside comfortably. We were sat right away and the server came up and asked what we would like to drink. We asked for a Matcha Latte and Iced Tea. About 5 minutes later she came back to the table and asked again what we wanted. And it took about 15 minutes for the drinks to get to our table. Following the drinks we ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and Monte Cristo. Both options tasted great. The only thing was that the potatoes that were paired with the Benedict tasted like they had been reheated. They were super dry and wilted. The others tasted fine. We told the server, but she was so frazzled so I guess it didn't matter. I liked this place, but honestly would probably not come back due to their lack of consistency and service.

Got reaquainted with Cafe Jolie's today when I met my cousin here for lunch...."head slap"...what took you so long, FOOL...it was wonderful...not only the great food, but the exceptional service from the entire staff...!!! I think it's been 2+ years and I guarantee, it won't be that long for my next visit...a delish order of beignets, warm and fresh, as they're meant to be enjoyed, to start....followed by one of the best BLT's ever....and the highlight, a cup of French Onion soup....YUM...!!! Thank you so much, Cafe Jolie's...."see you again, soon"...!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at my visit at Cafe Jolie. The reviews kinda had my expectations low but I was very pleased with the flavors and so was my boyfriend whose birthday we were celebrating. First the outdoor seating was plenty and sunny or shaded options there was lots of seating outside and perfect for my dog (the waiter brought us water for her which was nice and unexpected). The hostess and waitress were very very kind with nice smiles and good vibes. I read many comments saying the potatoes were inedible and I strongly disagree, maybe we caught them at a good hour around 12:30 on a Saturday but the potatoes were perfect! Not dry, and actually seasoned with a little chili but not spicy! It was soo yummy I kept stealing some of my boyfriends who ordered the smoked salmon omelette, the eggs were fluffy and soft and the salmon added excellent flavor. My French toast was ok, a little wet inside for me and kinda had an eggy taste which I personally don't like but I understand that's the risk when ordering French toast, however I thought there could've been more fruit or seasoning to it. It's also a bummer that you have to pay $7 extra for 3 pieces of bacon it would be nice if the plate came with bacon and eggs. The beignets were fluffy and delicious with the chocolate sauce which again shouldn't be an extra $3 charge in my opinion. The waitress took off the mimosa for my bfs birthday which was very nice. I would absolutely come back and happy to rate 5/5 stars. Oh one thing I really didn't like was 2 people vaping outside as I am pregnant and inhaling their strawberry smoke but I didn't say anything but it would've been nice if the staff noticed as they were presenting their vapes on the table as if it was cups of water.

Eggs Benedict - these potatoes were rock hard

My friends and I came for brunch on Sunday at 11am and had no problem grabbing a table outside, the hostess was great and we didn't have to wait! However, we did have to wait 40 minutes for our server to come talk to us to put in our order. It was frustrating watching tables who got sat after us, order and get their food before we even were spoken to. As a former server, I have a hard time writing this because sometimes we do just get triple-sat or in the weeds so I do try to give other grace but it didn't look busy and there's no reason she couldn't have come by to say "I'm sorry I'm really busy, can I get your drink order?"or "I'm sorry I see you're ready, I'll be right with you." A little communication and acknowledgment goes a long way. When we eventually ordered and our food came out quickly which was nice. The beignets were so soft and fluffy - definitely recommend. I got the eggs benedict which were spectacular, the hollandaise sauce is really good! But my side of potatoes you could tell had just been sitting under the heat lamp getting over dried out and rock hard, inedible. They were awful and it was careless to have served that up on a plate instead of making new ones. Our server, Jubilee (?), never once checked on us after we got our food and we had to wave her down to get our check. We waited some more but she never came by to collect our payment so we had to walk to the register inside to check out. I had been here before and had excellent service before which is why I brought my friends back this weekend but was really disappointed with the inattentive service and our food.

    Lavender Latte
    Kim B.

I arrived around 8:30am on a Saturday so there was plenty of street parking (free before 9am), and I was seated right away. I ordered a large lavender latte (it's very heavy on the lavender syrup, and delicious). I also order The Huevos Rancheros (egg fried card and no sour cream). It was...okay. The corn tortillas are not fried, which is what I was expecting as I'm used to this dish with the crunch of fried tortilla (or tortilla chips). That really through me off, and while eating it, there wasn't much seasoning. Service was great as well. I do really like the energy of this restaurant, so I will come back and try their beignets, French toast and/or pancakes.

I came here for a Sunday brunch with my two beloved college friends and had a lovely time. There was very little wait to be seated, but the waitstaff were quite busy, which was understandable. Our personal server was incredibly friendly (small petite Asian woman, I apologize for not remembering your name!!) and such a pleasure to speak to. I ordered the croque monsieur with the potato salad - I didn't end up using the sauce because the cheese was heavy enough, but it was delightfully greasy and rich. The potato salad was light and balanced it out wonderfully. I also had a bite of my friend's omelette, which was super tasty. We also ordered the beignets - the dough was a wonderful texture, and the chocolate ganache on the side was an excellent addition. Overall, would love to come back and try their other dishes sometime!! As a side note, the wall art was adorable, except for this for some reason, terrifying painting of a child on a merry go round.

I love this place, I just recently started coming here and I love their breakfast. I tend to go in the middle of the week and it's never super busy which is good for me! The servers and all super nice and attentive! I love their hot sauce in the bottles that are on the table. Definitely a 10/10 I would highly recommend!!

the unfortunate truth is that while this is definitely a cafe that requires patience , it is worth the wait. i've been here twice and loved my food and experience both times! don't miss out

    Huevos Rancheros, Beignets, Monte Cristo
    Marielle V.

Came here on a quiet Friday morning - and we really enjoyed our time here. We ordered huevos rancheros, the monte cristo and a half order of beignets (which is enough to share for 3 people). Food was fresh, and had delicious flavors! For all my coffee lovers - they have a bottomless $5 coffee and it was a nice touch. The ambience, environment and staff were all friendly, sweet and patient. Definitely our new go to brunch spot in Alameda! Can't believe we haven't gone here before.

Overview: The BEST Chai Latte I've had! Cute café on Bay Farm, and I have and definitley will continue to be coming back! ---- We came on a Saturday morning a little before 10:30am and were immediately seated. It was a clear, sunny day and while there is a canopy and umbrellas, our table was unfortunately inbetween umbrellas. Our table was completely in the sun and it got very hot, very fast. The seating is outdoors with canopies, umbrellas, and clear, plastic walls. It was a nice day, but beware, as it can get very hot especially if seated in the sun when the plastic walls magnify the heat. Our only complaints was that there was stuff in my boyfriend's water and he was given a dirty plate. Also tips are supposed to be calculated based on pre-tax totals but their suggested tip options were all calculated after taxes. Aside from those small points everything was great. Since my first time there, I have been back with my friends and our server recognized me haha. Service was great and so was the food, and of course so was the Chai Latte. We came on a Monday morning around 10:30am and there was no crowd at all. Breakfast hours: 8am - 2pm Lunch hours: 11am - 2pm ---- Chai Latte (Small) $5: - Great balance of sweetness and spice - Sweetness forward - Cinnamon on top can vary between a lot of cinnamon to a fairly light sprinkle (my friend and I both ordered one and hers had too much cinnamon for her and mine not enough to my tastes) - Sometimes it will come with a design on top, and the other time it was random placement - My first time there, they had a feather design with the perfect amount of cinnamon Salmon Lox Sandwich $19: - Side option is between country potatoes or salad - We opted for the country potatoes, which were perfectly crispy and had good flavor - There's also ketchup available on the table, which went well with the potatoes - 3 salmon open faced baguette pieces - Has smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, pickled red onion, and capers - Came with one small slice of orange and half a strawberry, which was a nice addition, but left me wanting more fruit Crab Cake Benedict $21: - Comes with 2 english muffin halves, topped with crab cakes, poached egg, chipolte Mornay sauce, and parsley for garnish - Flavors was great, texture was a little bit mushy I'm assuming bc the type of crab meat they use - Even though country potatoes are listed as their side, they still ask you if you want that or a side salad which is nice - Also comes with the 2 small pieces of one slice of orange and one half of a strawberry ---- Donut Petit: - They are also connected with Donut Petit and it all looked sooo yummy - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that they have their prices listed on their pastry case! - I can't wait to be back to try these out as well ---- Notes: - Large parking area with electric charging spots available - Located right next to a playground workout area - A short walk near the water if you'd like to take a stroll after eating - Come here on weekdays if you want to avoid crowds - Glad they have a second location for people on the east side of Alameda to enjoy without much travel ---- Overall: This place has become my new go-to for breakfast/brunch, while the prices may seem steep it's worth it for the quality of food that you're getting. Choose where you sit wisely, I highly recommend in their more shaded areas and to come on a weekday (or earlier on the weekends) to be able to choose your seats. Their Chai Latte is a must try!

    Croissant French Toast

This place is a gem. I love this restaurant for breakfast/ brunch. My favorite thing to order is the crabcake benedict. While I've order this exact item at many other restaurants, nothing compares to the way Café Jolie makes it. Instead of an overly battered crabcake, they use more crab than batter. It's late yet filling and one of the best eggs benedict I've ever had! I also love the french toast. I've ordered both, and I will say they each have their own added benefits. The regular ones are thick and feeling while the croissant ones are light, but still taste amazing, especially topped with the fruit. The customer service is also really good here and the wait times are never too long. The restaurant itself is always clean and you have the option to dine inside and or outside. I definitely recommend this place to others.

As a huge fan of French cuisine, I'd been following RÊVE for years and decided to book a table for the graduation dinner. I made a reservation about three months in advance just to be safe, since the restaurant only has about eight indoor tables. The restaurant was tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, but upon entering through the side gate, I felt like I was stepping into a Parisian neighborhood bistro. Our friendly waitress walked us through the menu and seasonal specials and even pointed out the can't-miss dishes. Thank goodness we followed her advice - the frites were among the best I've ever tasted! We debated ordering another cone of frites but decided to pace ourselves because we also ordered the gougères, RÊVE salad, and escargot to share. Additionally, we received complimentary fresh baguette and butter. For my main dish, I decided to try the quenelle, which can be described as a soft dumpling made from seafood purée that resembles a velvety soufflé. Every bite had a rich seafood flavor that, even now, I can't stop thinking about. Even though we were quite full after dinner, we were tempted by the dessert menu and decided to split the chocolate mousse and French opera cake. Both desserts were exquisite - they were small portions but packed a lot of richness without being overly sweet. Our dinner was made extra special by the restaurant staff, who remembered that we were celebrating a graduation and signed a card for us. From the team going above and beyond to the excellent meal, this was one of the best meals I've had this year. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Once inside the dining area, it was lively and loud, intimate, and somewhat more formal compared to their upstairs cafe. If you dine in their dining area, it's prix-fixe. On my Mom's birthday, they had a salad, pasta, steak, and ice cream. The salad was good--I don't eat mushrooms, but found it tasty and a bit over-dressed. My favorite was the pasta, a little spice. The others in my party had the rack of lamb, duck confit and special entree of pan seared dayboat scallops and risotto. All dishes were solid but probably the best were the rack of lamb and seabass. For dessert, we shared the creme rules and chocolate fondant cake and I had a decaf latte, too. Both desserts were nice and rich but creme brulee was especially smooth and creamy. We were all full to the max! We left happy and I was glad we came back here for an early Mother's Day dinner!
