Cafe Lowell is a great spot with a really welcoming, family-style vibe. They have a nice deal with a $15 box where you can pre- mix and matched pastries. I tried the chocolate croissant and the strawberry cream cheese bread, and both were delicious and generously filled. There's also space to sit, eat, and study, plus plenty of parking which makes it easy to visit. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

Was somewhat early for an appt so I asked my mom to grab some coffees & pastries before checking in. I m glad that we stumbled upon this cafe. It took over a pretty popular bakery. They have so many items to choose from. At first, I wanted to get the lavender matcha but I needed my AM dose of coffee lol I ended up getting their Iced DaBang coffee. I got the 16 oz instead of the large since I have never tried before. It was unexpectedly good. The Korean flavor was there and the coffee was there. It was a good price too...just $4.50!! My mom wanted the pineapple croissant/strudel. We shared it. It was super fresh and not so sweet. It was soft. It definitely will be better warm. After dropping off my mom to her appt, I actually went back to get more pastries lol prices for the pastries were not bad at all.

Green Tea Cake

I ordered the green tea cloud cake for my boyfriend's mom's birthday. The whipped cream was light and not too sweet. The cake was simply delightful. The green tea flavor was prominent but not too overpowering. Overall, we'll like to try their other items. They also serve coffee! Please note that you can either order online or through the phone. I recommend ordering online since the employee who took my call did not understand English very well, and there was some confusion and miscommunication when placing my order. Thank you to Cafe Lowell for this delicious cake to celebrate my boyfriend's mom's birthday!

If you're missing Korean baked goods, Cafe Lowell is a must!!! Located in Garden Grove, it's in the Da Vien coffee plaza so there's lots of parking & it's easily accessible! The vibe is super cute with lots of seating options. Customer service is always AMAZING!!! They are super friendly and sweet people who go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. But about the actual breads- omg!!! SO, so good!!! Do not miss the Korean cream cheese garlic bread- it is DELICIOUS!!! The salt bread is super popular and OSS just like what you get in Korea. My fave sweet item was the matcha custard bread- it was phenomenally good!!! They also have a large drink menu and every item I've tried on it has been solid. Definitely stop in and give Cafe Lowell a try the next time you're in GG- you won't be disappointed!!!

Came here and grabbed a few things to try out. I enjoyed their following items: guava pastry, strawberry cream croissant, and chocolate chip muffin. The only thing o didn't like was their pound cake, it tasted dry to me. I'd come back here if I was in the area.

Really solid Korean bakery spot in Garden Grove. The staff is super welcoming and sweet and there is a good variety of breads along with some unique ones I've never seen. I tried the salt bread and the texture is more soft and "bread-y" versus flaky than traditional salt bread but was surprisingly super yummy! There's also a lot of indoor seating so if you wanna come with friends and there's definitely room for you to sit and chat, which I always appreciate in a café!

Egg salad sandwich

My egg salad sandwich ($7.99) came with a complimentary house coffee! Promo* I signed up for their loyalty program . They have lots other unique drinks I would like to try. I liked the cafe's peaceful ambiance. (36/100)

Egg salad salt bread

Last time I came by before Cafe Lowell took over, there was hardly any baked goods left by the afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised at the wide assortment of sweet and savory pastries when I stepped inside Cafe Lowell! I was craving salt bread but also hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so I thought the egg salad salt bread was the perfect option for me! Bonus: they have a promo where you also get a free coffee (thanks to the sweet lady behind the counter for offering the coffee). There was plenty of egg salad filling though it could have been seasoned just a tad more. I also got the popular strawberry cream cheese pastry for later, which turned out to be more of a whipped cream + strawberry jam. Still good, but I was hoping for more cream cheese flavor/consistency.

Store front (to the left of A R Supermarket)

I was craving some pain aux raisins (raisin rolls) and I found Cafe Lowell through Yelp. Located at the entrance of a small shopping mall building. Most of the stores are vacant, but Cafe Lowell is right at the front and can be seen from the entrance of the parking lot. The staff I met were very friendly and knowledgeable. They use fresh, high quality butter for all of their pastries. They have a variety of Korean and French pastries. All of the pastries are packaged and ready to go. I got the pain aux raisins set, pain aux chocolat set, custard cream bread and Soboro (peanut topping crust on top) cream bread with strawberries. All the pastries were flaky, moist and fresh. Highly recommend!! They also sell cakes.

Soft Castella (App)

A nice, cozy bakery located in a shopping center. Similar to an 85 ° Bakery or a Paris Baguette, you'll appreciate the quality and simplicity of their selection. Exterior: You won't have trouble finding parking as it's located in a shopping center with a large parking lot. There's a small patio space if you would like to spend time enjoying your treats outside. Interior: It's quiet and clean. Again, won't have trouble finding seating as I came on a Sunday at 3-4PM and it wasn't crowded at all! There's a variety of counter top and table seating. If you plan on getting work done, bring your devices charged as there's no outlets. Also, there's a bathroom in the vicinity but you'll need to be a customer (meaning buy something before trying to ask for the key). There is WiFi! You can get a lot of work done here as they also play relaxing instrumental music. Food and Service: They have everything nicely packaged and I appreciate their smaller options (bite-sized) such as the Pain Au Choco. A lot of their supply is not overly sweet (e.g., Custard Cream Bun). The service is also nice and patient (from personal experience). NOTE: Try this location out as they have their own reward system and a gift voucher ($5 off when you spend $25 or more on any purchase/no expiration date)! This is a hidden gem in the area that many people need to try.

Garlic Cream Bowl (App)

The cafe was very cute and the pastries were self serve. The woman working at the register was really nice. They didn't have too many vegetarian options. The garlic cream bowl was one of the best snacks I've ever had. Perfectly salty and slightly sweet and I'm going to think about that bread for a long time.

First time visiting the cafe! They have a wide assortment of pastries and the customer service was very nice too. There is a lot of different ice cream choices as well. The price is fair and I'm excited to be coming back :) Quick update: the breads taste wonderful!! They have salt bread which I purchased shortly afterwards

Assortment of breads
Huai L.

Cafe Lowell is a really nice bakery. The bread is soft, fresh, and has great flavor. Each item feels well made, whether it is a loaf, a pastry, or something savory. Everything tastes light and balanced, never too heavy. The owner is very kind and welcoming. The shop is clean with a comfortable layout and seating, which makes it easy to sit down and enjoy your food. The drink menu is also a good match for the baked goods, with options that go beyond the basics. It is the kind of place that makes you want to come back for both the quality and the atmosphere.

I like this location more than others because of the bigger parking lot, more seating options (including an upstairs area and outdoor seating), and I've also received better service here compared to other locations. The place is simply decorated, and it honestly is a solid spot if you're looking to crank out some work or meet with colleagues/friends. It does get pretty crowded so it's better to get an early head start if you can, especially on the weekends. In terms of their drinks, my favorite is the blueberry lavender matcha latte. It's on the sweeter side and has a floral aftertaste, but the flavors mix really well together. I typically get their matcha drinks or teas because I'm not a fan of coffee, but my friends that are coffee fiends are fans of the various coffee drinks here. Compared to other cafes, I feel like the cost of the drinks is standard, but the prepared food and pastries are on the steeper side. Still a great spot, I enjoy coming for the atmosphere and biscuits!

The location has plenty of parking and plenty of seating. There is an outdoor patio, and inside there is a first floor seating area, and a second floor seating area. The interior had high ceilings and modern practical decor. Staff will take your order at the cashier, but they also have a kiosk if you want to avoid human interaction. I was here for a few hours, so I started off with a hot beverage since I saw that they have mug service. I had the hot Churro Latte ($8.15/large) and I was warned it's a bit sweet so staff suggested that I get it less sweet. I appreciated the gesture but maybe that's why I didn't taste too much of the churro flavor. It tasted like a good regular latte but maybe they held back on the caramel and cinnamon to the point I couldn't detect it. Seating is first come first serve. It was actually really busy and difficult to find an ideal spot. Since I was alone I sat at a high top ledge, strategically near an outlet. From what I saw, they had a really good amount of outlets in the indoor seating area. Later on I went back and ordered an iced Blueberry Lavender Matcha with Cold Foam ($9.25/large) and a Deluxe Avocado Toast ($15) which comes with egg, bacon, and herb oil. I like that this location serves the avocado toast with a knife and fork cause it was much needed. It was a bit on the wet side. Maybe I should ask for light herb oil next time. For how much this avocado toast cost, I would have liked more avocado. The avocado was more of a spread, not whole slices of avocado. Still good, just an observation. The blueberry lavender matcha was okay. I could taste the lavender but it was overpowering the matcha and the blueberry was hard to detect at all. Honestly the location and plentiful seatings is what stood out most from this experience. I would consider coming back since I know their products are good from trying their other locations but I wouldn't get the drinks I ordered this time. For how expensive coming here was, I wish I was a little more satisfied.
