I haven't yet had any food here but we've stopped several times for coffee as we are walking around Smyrna Market Village. The place smells great as you walk by (or maybe I'm just a sucker for any place that smells like fresh coffee), and their chalk sign is cute and sometimes caters to the Pokemon Go crowd at SMV. The coffee is strong and yummy. I'm not really a coffee snob so I can't say anything about whether it's "good"... But I've had coffee that tastes burnt, grainy, or just plain weird, and this coffee isn't any of those. It's good. And one weeknight when we ducked in at about 8:55 after yoga, not realizing they closed at 9, the server was still totally pleasant even though in the back of my mind I know I would have been a little annoyed! read more

I've gotten food from Cafe Lucia twice and had problems both times. Today I ordered three sandwiches to go. Two with turkey bacon that MAYBE got cooked on the skillet for one minute. The third sandwich was missing the egg. Nothing like paying $23 for a supposedly quick breakfast and still having to come home and cook to fix their mistakes. An amazing local business in Smyrna Market Village - lots of parking behind it and around. Got the PB&J French toast and sweet potato pancakes for breakfast along with an afogato and iced coffee. The barista was very helpful and friendly, she let me know this place has only been open 2 months and they are already opening another location. I really want to love this place. The coffee is great! But the food is lack luster. The last three times I've been here, they haven't had all the ingredients to make the menu items. Instead of letting me know and offering me a substitution, they just made it with the ingredients they had. The salad I ordered was just spinach and strawberries. When I went here, the owner was there taking customers' orders along with his daughter. He's very customer and people oriented which made me felt at home. The place is laid back and have all kind of drinks from smoothies to mimosas. Everything is made fresh which means the food is never frozen, the only thing that is frozen is the ice cream, yeah the place have ice cream too. Not to leave out, there are art work (paintings) on the walls for sale. One thing that I wish is that there were more vegetarian options, but the owner did explicitly told me if I had any suggestions or questions let him know because he wants the place to be perfect for any and everyone, but I didn't at the time recommend my suggestion. Here's the deal: I used to live just down the street from here. There was a gelato place at the first corner you come to (left side) after taking the turn into the 'Market Village' from Atlanta Road. Husband and wife. Wife was never very polite and it was a running joke in my house to guess her discontentment level on a scale of one to ten after every visit. Anyhow, the gelato was GOOD!!! Awesome flavors and great variety!! I came in today because I did a search for ice cream in the area and this place came up. A complete waste of my time. The young lady at the counter was not friendly, and then the "ice cream" was grainy. A sure sign that it was OLD. OLD AS HELL. The cashier was pleasant. The drinks came out in pretty good time BUT the food took forever. It looked like there were 2 staff in kitchen and based on my observation, they didn't move like there were people waiting for the food. When the food came my friend and I were SUPER disappointed. The omelette was not good and WAY over priced. The. PB&J French toast looked like 6 pieces of toast w/ PB & J on the side & WAY WAY over priced. My friend and I left and were so thankful that we could keep ourselves on the list for First Watch down the street (we went there first but the wait was 45 mins thus the trip here...). This is my neighborhood coffee shop and the coffee is very good. I like the atmosphere of the place, right in the Smyrna Market Village, and the staff are friendly. There are plentiful tables inside, and several outdoor tables with umbrellas where people can sit with their dogs. I've had both breakfast and lunch there in addition to coffee, and the food is excellent. The lines can be long at times and there is only room for one barista and one cook usually, but if you're not in a huge hurry at peak times, it's worth the wait. The lines aren't really that bad compared to some peak times at certain Starbucks, and you're supporting a good local business, so I highly recommend! read more

I visit Café Lucia about 6 times they have more than one location but I visit two of them so far one in midtown and in Smyrna, I came to the Smyrna location about 4 times. I Always get the same thing lol Chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with ice Caramel coffee. Parking on the street I always got lucky to get the parking right in front of the door it's parking around the building as well. They have a few tables in front of the Café and inside have more table and chairs it's a nice cozy café I love it. And it helps to have nice customer service is always a friendly smiling face to greet you as you come in. One of my favorite café! We will definitely be back. read more

Went last month and just now writing a review as I made the same meal for myself at home and was reminded how disappointing the signature menu item (sweet potato pancakes) was during my visit to Cafe Lucia. The space was beautiful and the offerings for community based events through the week had me convinced I'd love my coffee and meal here. I sipped on a cup of the drip coffee while I waited for the sweet potato pancakes and found it brewed surprisingly weak. The pancakes arrived and the thin and mushy pancakes were disappointing. It was the daily special for $10.95. No eggs or protein side served with at at that price surprised me, too. My guess was I was there on a poorly staffed day. I absolutely love this cafe! The staff is extremely nice! One time I forgot my credit card, but I know its digits by heart, so they let me enter it manually to pay for my order. Another time I wanted to have some iced tea and they made it even though they only had hot tea. The atmosphere, especially outside, is great! It reminds me a lot of Europe. The grilled cheese was delicious, however, the white mocha left a lot to be desired. I am no coffee connoisseur by no stretch of the imagination but I much prefer the white mocha from Racetrac.
