The vibes were good. Staff were very nice. The place was very clean and modern. Unfortunately they were out of a lot of breakfast foods including the sausage so I just got the salad without feta. The salad was good but I definitely needed a protein. The matcha was good but I couldn't taste the maple flavor unfortunately. Would just stick to the regular vanilla.

Such a cool place to hang out, eat and have great conversation. Very open and roomy. Greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The gentleman was extremely nice and helpful. Ordered the sunday sando and short rib breakfast burrito. Both were very delicious and flavorful. The sandwich was altered a bit, instead of prosciutto bacon was added and it was absolutely divine. The short rib burrito had such good depths of flavor. The london fog tea was in my opinion one of the best london fogs I have ever had. Definitely recommend eating here!

Delicious lunch at Sammy's today! We arrived a little too late for breakfast, which stops at either 11 or 11:30. We'll keep that in mind for next time. The Cubano was so good! Lechon, ham, Swiss, and mustard - juicy on a toasted roll. My husband had the banh mi with barbecued pork and fresh crispy veggies. Yum! Topped off with great drip coffee from Michael Thomas, this is a fab option downtown.

The store feels understaffed, people were waiting for at least 10+ minutes to get their food, this was 8-9am. The breakfast bowl we had was just average, the pork grind was very very salty and the overall dish just felt meh.

My wife and I have been trying to get to Sammy's since they opened. I am so thrilled. We finally made it on Saturday. The inside is modern, clean and all the plants are my fav. The customer service was excellent, we honestly wanted everything on the menu so we ordered exactly what the worker recommended. His favorite was the Italian grinder and we chose the cob as well. We also ordered a cereal milk latte, which had fruity loops on top as an adult that totally brought me back to my childhood For the sandwich, let's start talking about this bread. It is so fresh and soft but yet has that crunchy crust on the outside. Phenomenal and the meats they chose with the banana peppers and the pickled onions. This Italian sub was by far my favorite I've had in New Mexico. For the Cobb salad, it was very fresh crunchy the eggs everything was just very well balanced, and super fresh. I enjoyed that you can sit inside or outside on the patio. We definitely want to go back and try the bagel sandwiches or even the baked goodies! I was eyeing that blueberry muffin so next time

I had a really positive experience here for accommodating my dietary needs. I was craving a traditional sub with all the fixings. Ordered the grinder (no meat / no cheese) sub the organic greens with garlic vinaigrette - which is an option as an add on to any sandwich, but the house was gracious enough to not up charge. Let me just say, my "salad" on fresh bread was spectacular. Even my 8yr old was wrestling me for the last bite:) ingredients are clean, thoughtful, and delicious. Our lunch really hit the spot. The building is also beautifully renovated, spacious, and lots of seating options. Extra points for having community meal donation suggestion at the bottom of the menus! Says a lot about the values of this business model. We'll be back!

Cute cafe and deli with tasty sandwiches and salads (among other things). We ordered the mesquite turkey sandwich which was very good, and a California Cobb salad which also was good. We also ordered a piece of cheesecake that was delicious. The restaurant was bright, clean and had a fresh new feel. the staff were very friendly.

Downtown is by far the best area in town when it comes to great lunch spots. You have some amazing gems, including My Mom's, Es Que Market, and now, Sammy's. Sammy's brings a more deli style option to the area. I love that. They focus on collaborations with other businesses, including sourcing their baked goods from Knead and bagels from Sunday Bagels. I grabbed a couple different things, including a pumpkin doughnut from Knead, pecan latte with oat milk, and the bagel lox sandwich. Everything was really good, especially the pecan latte which I don't think I've tried anything similar. The bagel sandwich was great, it did seem to be made to eaten more as a sandwich than two slices of a bagel but still good. The space is really cute, lots of windows.

My first visit to this café was on January 30, 2025. It's in a great location, just on the west side of downtown Albuquerque. There is ample parking. It has fantastic natural lighting. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Decor is upbeat and modern. It may seem pedantic to describe a sandwich in detail. However, for me, the Cubano is a good test of sandwich integrity. There are only a few ingredients and this one is a great example of simple things done well.! The bread was particularly interesting ; had a great crumb and just a tiny bit of char, which I like. Pickles and just the right amount of mustard, so yummy. Sammy's is connected to several other interesting places, and I intend to return to explore them as well.

So good so good so good! The place we went to before this was closed for the holidays and I am so glad it was! We came from out of town and they had the most fire breakfast burrito and French toast. 10/10 recommend

Is it getting warmer? Or is it just that we are excited about presenting a review of a relatively new restaurant located between Albuquerque's new and old town? Yup, right on Central. Sammy's Cafe and Deli is located within Ex Novo in the old Firestone building. It offers impressive, tasty food, friendly service, and interesting minimalist decor that will make you want to return. I love having breakfast at Sammy's... They serve my favorite bagels (Sunday bagels) and coffee (Michael Thomas), have great service, and probably the best patio in Albuquerque. The reason for the 3 star is because they changed they potato recipe... They used to have the BEST potatos I've ever eaten and now it's a basic potato. Won't be ordering it anymore.

Amazing food, vibey and clean dining room, and quick service. I love that they serve Sunday Bagels (the best bagels in town). Pretty inexpensive and worth the visit!

Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

I knew this would be good because there was a big group of people from the airbase and that's always a good sign. They seem to make the most out of their lunch time. It was a long line but the counterman handled it with great speed. The guy in front of me comes in to buy sausage and fresh mozzarella to make his own homemade calzones. I chose the full size italian beef and the other sandwich we got was mostly veggies and mozzarella(I can't remember the name). While we waited for the sandwiches we perused the baked goods and the italian market with tons of sauces, frozen foods, cheese and delicious baked goods. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. Even as a big a guy as I am I could have done with the half size, but I did end up eating the second half for dinner. The sandwiches are on soft, delicious hoagie rolls. The italian beef was stuff with beef and gardinera. The juices of the meat and the gardinera leaks into the botoom of your tray and almost makes a french dip like sauce. This place is fantastic!!!

For the record, I'm talking about a true handheld breakfast burrito--not one served on a plate and smothered in red, green, or Christmas chile. Hello Deli in Albuquerque's Journal Center is one of the homegrown New Mexico spots I happily recommend when the craving for a handheld breakfast burrito hits. My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the Pronto is reliably delicious and remains my go-to handheld breakfast burrito in Albuquerque.

This restaurant has maintained a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality. This morning we met our kids for breakfast here as it was closest to a central location for all. We arrived as they were opening their doors, and we followed the early queue in, were rapidly seated. Drinks were served quickly and refilled often. My wife and I split an Ol' Traditional with hash browns, bacon and pancakes for the bread. Our son had the same except with sausage and white toast. Our daughter had the Huevos Rancheros with papitas and Christmas chile. One thing that sets Hello Deli apart is their egg preparation. Most restaurants in NM fix over easy eggs with the whites fully cooked. Hello Deli follows what we find in most other places. The whites are just a bit runny. If you don't like that, be sure to order over medium. The hash browns weren't very brown, but were tasty. Next time I need to remember to order them crispy. The bacon was ok and the pancakes were very tasty but a bit doughy. Maybe being as early as we were, the griddle hadn't fully heated to the proper temperature. I know we've had better in the past. Our daughter raved about the red Chile sauce. Overall the food was good and the service was fantastic.

I also ordered an iced Americano since they didn't offer cold brew. The Americano was refreshingly strong and very tasty. The espresso didn't taste burnt or like the machine hadn't been cleaned in a while (you can tell). Sadly, the breakfast sandwich was underwhelming. There was a large quantity of eggs and not enough cheese, and the flavor of the red chile was overpowered by everything else. Next time, I'd like to try a toasted bagel with a cream cheese that accentuates the flavor of the bagel.
