The menu is creative, the dishes nicely presented and service was friendly and timely. High quality coffee. Very good baked goods for sale as well. Our suggestion is to combine some of them (perhaps the whole wheat croissants and bacon scones) into the other menu items like the egg dishes. The food was delicious, I recommend the Turkey tornado, and the seasonal veggies. I am not a big coffee drinker, but they had hot chocolate you could melt away in. 4 of us ate lunch there. We always try to find non chain restaurants. The lunch was delicious. Portions were just right. My husband and I shared the roasted veggie sandwich on pita bread, a spinach strawberry salad and a lemon poppy seed muffin. We went back on Sunday for brunch. Food is good. Coffee is good. The big turn off for me is the tattered, dirty, and worn appearance of the walls, floors, and furnishings. Everything needs a good scrub down and fresh paint. Tattered decor and worn out furniture pieces need replaced. When doors, door knobs, and light switches are dirty it makes me wonder how much attention is paid to cleanliness in places I can't see! read more

Nice little find in Cumberland, MD on our drive from Hershey, PA to Morganville, WV. If you are driving to Morganville, WV and want a good place to stop for coffee and food, this is it. They have crazy flavored lattes, which all sounded awesome so it was hard to choose. My wife and I both got the German Chocolate Cake lattes, which have chocolate, hazelnut, caramel, coconut, and a tiny bit of whipped cream at the top. It sounds extremely intense and while it was a pretty powerfully sweet drink, it wasn't too much. Make sure you mix the drink so all the flavors blend into one instead of individually hitting your palate. Not only was the coffee great, but they had a nice selection of deserts and foods. Their paninis sounded good so my wife and I got the Pesto, mozzarella, and tomato panini and the grilled veggie panini. Both of these were fantastic and the best part is they were made fresh right in front of us when we ordered! I watched them grill the vegetables and make the panini from scratch; pretty refreshing considering most places just tend to have them pre-made sitting there for who knows how long. In consideration of this, make sure you aren't in a rush if you are going to order any of the paninis as they do make it fresh so it takes a little bit. In terms of service, the two guys behind the counter were very friendly and take pride in the food and drinks they make. All in all, a five out of five experience. If you are in Cumberland, MD and are looking for some good espresso drinks and fresh lunch, this is the spot for you! We took all our coffee and food to go and ate it in the car. We stopped by for a quick lunch at this friendly and comfortable place in downtown Cumberland. We each had soup - crab chowder and tomato bisque - and split a rather unconventional reuben which worked better for one of us than the other. The soups were great! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a snack and ended up getting their special French toast covered in bananas and strawberries. Went there because of one of the other reviews and was not disappointed. Spoke with the owner, he made my coffee, and was exceptionally helpful. The entire staff was pleasant. There was a friendly, fun feeling about the entire place. The food was very good. I had the French toast, because it seems to be one of their specialties, even though I am not a huge fan of it. Their French toast was some of the best I have ever had, the only place better I can think of, was Founding Farmers in DC. The sausage looked like the normal frozen sausage I usually don't care for, but was also pleasantly surprised. Was very good with just the right amount of spices. Found this place on YELP while traveling on I68. Ordering was a little confusing at first until they explained that the menu was at the counter where you placed your orders. Food was delivered to your table. This is a delightful local cafe with friendly service and excellent food. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich w/o a roll (GF). It was served on a bed of lettuce. She said it was very good. I had a BLT and it was a really good BLT sandwich with generous amount of bacon. Hope we can stop there again sometime. read more

As far as we are concerned, the place to go for breakfast or brunch in Cumberland. My wife and I stopped by there on our way back from Omni Bedford Springs resort for a late breakfast and the food was fantastic. Had their eggs, sausage, and toast. The sausage is locally made and delicious. Also, the eggs and toast are fresh and cooked just right. Service is very friendly and they always greet you the moment you hit the door. Also recommend their house blend coffee (always smooth, never acidic) and their chai lattte (very tasty). This is defiintely a go-to for meals whether you are staying in Cumberland or on the way to the ski resorts and Omni Bedford Springs resort in PA. A great local business to support. read more

Decent breakfast. Good omelette, well cooked. Onions could have been caramelized a little more for my taste. Home fries aren't potato chunks, but mashed up - I would call them hash browns. For hash browns, they were fine, but I prefer the chunky version. As several people have mentioned, coffee was strong, but also delicious. Service was quick and attentive. In town for the weekend and debating going back tomorrow. If they opened earlier on Sunday, it would be a no-brainer, but not sure I want to wait until 9 for breakfast! read more

I had such a nice experience here I felt compelled to review. I stopped for coffee & lunch in the middle of an 11 hour drive. The employees are warm, friendly and helpful. The egg sandwich was one of the best I've had recently, with perfectly cooked fresh eggs with perfectly soft yolks. The menu is limited, in a good way. The service was atrocious -- except for one person who actually did her job. Picked this place because it had a kids menu for lunch. Mac & Cheese for a kid was so hot we had it put in the refrigerator to cool off. We had two kids - they served both of their lunches on one plate. My reuben never came - I had to ask for it & then the server threw the plate in front of me - yes - threw it from over my shoulder - the reuben was cold - & I had to go back & ask for the rest of the meal I ordered -- lousy service - moderately passable food - won't be going back or recommending it. read more

I am so glad I discovered this place! I was on a medical rotation in Cumberland, and my residence was stationed right next to this gem. All of the espresso drinks were delicious and made to perfection, and the baked goods were very tasty. Unfortunately, I never tried any of the food, but it all sounded and looked quite good. All of the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and Mark was absolutely delightful. We always held a conversation when I came in, and he was even nice enough to give me a free drink (despite still needing 2 or 3 stamps on my loyalty card) on my last day. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone going to be in the area, and I will hopefully be able to go back myself! read more

Had breakfast here twice while in Cumberland for a biking getaway. Our hotel included breakfast but we decided to try Cafe Mark, and glad we did. Excellent coffee, especially the french press on Fridays. Blueberry french toast was awesome, can split between two people the portions are large. Really enjoyed our breakfast here. Being a local from Cumberland, MD. myself, I was excited and hoping to use the cafe for my wedding cake and my wedding will be in August. I work full-time and take evening classes at night and am also on a different time zone than Cumberland so I started contacting them via facebook post. I gave them my number and asked them to call me at their convenience and they commented back that they would. A week passed, no phone call. I wrote back on their wall again and asked them to contact me. They said that they would pass my number on to "the bakery" (whoever works there?) Again, a week passed, no phone call. Finally I responded a 3rd time and this time again they assured me that someone would contact me. Surprise, surprise, a month later, no one has ever called me. I am also a small business owner and I try to support locally owned businesses when I can. But I also value businesses that are friendly, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond to customers. I am a well paid individual and was prepared to pay $300-500 for a wedding cake for a wedding of just 50 guests. BUT, I am also not going to beg any business owner to provide a service for me. If I owned the cafe, I would have made sure to follow up on a possible $500 order. But that is just me. Stick to making coffee. read more
